I knew he lead a bunch of laps, but I didn't think it was 87! Congrats on the good run, shame he finished just outside the top ten. 2. Great runs for Cale Gale, David Stremme, Steve Wallace, Dario Franchitti, Jason Keller, and Sam Hornish. 3. Bowyer had the victory but with 25 to go he got loose and Kes took advantage. Great win for that kid. Great runs for Gale, Stremme, Steve, Franchitti, and Logano. Fun race to watch, not as good as other Bristol races, but good. 4. WallaceFan posted: 08.23.2008 - 10:34 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) AWESOME run by my man Steve Wallace. He started 43rd after a qual accident. Him and Logano (who also wrecked in qual) made their way through the field together. Steve just drove a very smart race and managed a 10th place finish. Great run for him. 5. DaleSrFanForever posted: 08.23.2008 - 11:11 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Absolutely outstanding effort by Brad. From 37th to first without a scratch on his car. No pit strategy either. He drove it to second, took advantage of a Bowyer slip, and won. To show that blend of patience and aggressiveness at Bristol is amazing. I'm telling ya, you'll be hearing his name for a while to come. A perfect example of why you should give unproven, hungry drivers a chance instead of recycling the same mediocre ones over and over again (listening Richard?). Great job by Dario. He has done better than I expected. Is it just me, or did this ESPN telecast absolutely suck? 6. samfan08 posted: 08.23.2008 - 12:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Glad to see Steve Wallace finish 10th, but I was THIS close to finally seeing Hornish finish in the top 10 in a stock car race. Great run for him and hopefully it was good experience for tonight. 7. WallaceFan posted: 08.23.2008 - 2:44 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Yeah Hornish ran a great race, but Leffler blew a tire in turn 3 of the last lap and Hornish ran into the back of him..tough way to lose a top 10. But he ran great. Joey Logano is good, but he will be driving a few races in the 96HOF cup car later this year, then we will see how good he is. KES drove the 23 car for awhile a didn't do anything, but now in a Hendrick car he is driving great..so cars are real important. 9. In only his second Busch start (1st on an oval) and first ever start at Bristol he starts 39th and finishes 19th, not bad 10. hyltonfan58 posted: 08.23.2008 - 5:54 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) R.I.P. I would have to say he probably already has a deal in place to drive the #5HMS car part time in 2010 with Mark Martin. If he didnt have a sure thing, i don't think he would have turned it down. 13. Not saying that Logano can't or that he's not a good driver, but let's see what he can do first because we claim him to be anything. People were saying that Brian Vickers was going to be the next great thing to Cup, and while he has had a decent career, it was a real rocky start for him. WallaceFan, Keselowski probably turned down the #12 because the #12 sucks. 14. All rumors are pointing to Stremme. I believe they may of TALKED to Keselowski to see if he was interested but there probably never was a serious discussion. Although, I do believe that the 12 car would be better than 4th car at Hendrick. The 5 will get the worst stuff as long as Jr., Gordon and Johnson are all there. 15. I explained why I have 13 drivers listed on the Michigan (last race) comments. 1 Kyle Busch 5206 2 Brad Keselowski 5200 3 Clint Bowyer 5190 4 David Stremme 5155 5 David Reutimann 5142 6 Steve Wallace 5134 7 Jason Keller 5127 8 Mike Bliss 5124 9 Jason Leffler 5118 10 David Ragan 5088 11 Carl Edwards 5082 12 Marcos Ambrose 5071 13 Mike Wallace 5058 This is just for fun, I calculated the points myself with nothing better to do with my spare time. Just thought I would do this to answer the "What if the Nationwide Series used the Chase Format in 2008" question for anyone else who had wondered that also. 16. And the driver was Jeff Green, a Busch series champ. 17. He was much better in the Nationwide series than in Cup, which shows that if he had started there originally he would have done better in Cup. 18. The year before on the repaved Bristol was probably the best Busch/Nationwide Series race in the track's history won by Kasey Kahne. Remember all the three-wide slicing and dicing with Ryan Newman and Jason Leffler. The drivers blamed the poor race on NASCAR taking 80 horsepower from the cars at the start of the season. No one could pass unless a mistake and it was follow the leader. 19.
