Nascar comes out and says here are the rules. You can build your engine within this set of rules. Joe Gibbs never goes outside that box and builds and engine that is making more horsepower than the other teams including the other Toyota teams. So what does Nascar do? They step in and hit them with what is basically a pentalty and making them drive with restrictions while the other teams are running without restriction. And Joe Gibbs Racing was the ones cheating here? You've all got it backwards. Nascar is the ones cheating just because Nascar, and its cocky fans can't deal with a foreign plate name winning. You know the only way America will ever catch back up to the quallity of cars made over seas is if they can swallow their pride and admitt they're getting out done first, and then go out and work to become better than foreign cars again. We're never going to get better by simply self proclaiming we have the best automobiles and hampering the efforts of foreign manufactures to make our products seem like the best. 3. They gave so much to Toyota to ease their transition into stock car racing, then Gibbs jumped on board and took advantage of it. They should have never given so much, but that is just yet another area where NASCAR screwed up. To me, people make too much of an issue about the new engine spacer. When Chevrolet starts using their new engine, they will also have to use the same spacer, this isn't only directed at Toyota. Now the competition is where it should have been all along. When they get to the straightaway, the Toyotas don't just pull out 10 car lengths like they have been doing, they stay even. And even if it was unfair, and it wasn't, that doesn't excuse Gibbs for blatently cheating. 6. saddlerfan posted: 09.09.2008 - 10:16 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Why does elliott drive the 9 car? it looked terrible. they said on tv that he said the front end just didnt work. i like elliott and he doesnt need that. 7. samfan08 posted: 09.09.2008 - 10:51 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Nice run for Wimmer. Too bad he's not coming back to RCR next year. Another solid top 20 for Kenny Wallace. I'm not sure if anyone, other than maybe Morgan Shepherd, is doing more with less this year. Nationwide series debut for Richard Childress's grandson(?) Austin Dillon. 8. That's way easier said than done. It's a huge economic issue that you can't solve by "becoming better than the foreigners." If it were that simple the U.S. automakers wouldn't have gotten into trouble in the first place. 9. Dodge posted: 09.10.2008 - 7:09 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Where is Wallacefan? He said that Steve was going to be good. He must be embarrassed for that comment. 10. WallaceFan posted: 09.13.2008 - 9:30 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Steve had a GREAT run, and was up to 8th, and then was spun out by Richard Childress grandson - Austin Dillon. So say what you want but Steve was bound for another top 10 before that happend. 17th is still a respectable finish. 12. WallaceFan posted: 09.13.2008 - 9:31 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Why didnt anyone mention how bad Brad Keselowski ran today? He started 3rd because of the rainout. By the first caution on lap 30 he was down in about 35th. There was nothing wrong with his car. I know hes had a good year running up in the top 5 in points, but it is necessary to mention when he has a poor run as well. 13. Dodge posted: 09.13.2008 - 11:26 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Steve got a taste of his own medicine then, right? He goes and either spin or wreck somebody and it finally happened to him that somebody took him out. 14. Kit posted: 09.13.2008 - 12:51 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) How do you know that there was nothing wrong with his car? Are you on his pit crew or do you work on his car at the shop? 15. And there was nothing wrong with Keselowskis car, they just didnt get the setup right. 16. Willy onj Wheels posted: 09.15.2008 - 11:20 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) He Who Shall Not Be Named wrecked. That is the point. I don't see him winning anything in any series ever. 17. I explained why I have 13 drivers listed on the Michigan comments. 1 Kyle Busch 5535 2 Clint Bowyer 5516 3 Carl Edwards 5442 4 David Stremme 5432 5 Mike Bliss 5381 6 David Ragan 5381 7 Brad Keselowski 5369 8 Jason Keller 5363 9 Steve Wallace 5349 10 David Reutimann 5345 11 Marcos Ambrose 5313 12 Mike Wallace 5291 13 Jason Leffler 5276 This is just for fun, I calculated the points myself with nothing better to do with my spare time. Just thought I would do this to answer the "What if the Nationwide Series used the Chase Format in 2008" question for anyone else who had wondered that also. 18. 18fan posted: 09.21.2009 - 11:54 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Second race in three races that Clint dominates and loses. He needs to learn how to win races. 19. Rob McKeever posted: 09.05.2011 - 9:03 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) So was the entire race postponed from Friday, or was it started Friday night but continued on Sunday? NASCAR shows the race date as 9/7/08, not 9/5/08 as RR.info has on the race page. I was at the cup race on 9-7 but don't recall the Nationwide race. 20.
