Carl needs a crew chief change or something to have a prayer of winning this championship. And for once John Wes Townley crash was not of his own making, he got taken out by McDowell. Still, 6 crashes in only 12 starts is bad no matter how you put it. 2. hyperacti posted: 06.14.2009 - 11:10 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) When Joey Logano passed Kyle Busch for the win straight up I was so shocked that I swore Gibbs must've fixed it for him. I reasoned that they'd have Kyle move over and Joey wins so that Logano can bring in more sponsorship money, something Kyle doesn't have to worry about. Then when I saw how mad Kyle was in his interview it put that theory to sleep in my mind. Shrub got straight up beat. I honestly thought this was impossible. There isn't a better closer in the sport than Kyle Busch. Everyone in Cup better watch out, because when Joey Logano figures out the car of today they could end up at his mercy. This kid just outraced a Kyle Busch thats in his prime in a series that Kyle has on its knees. 3. Nascar needs to fine some of the start and park teams for starting races without crew chiefs in this race. Making them go down pit road isn't a penalty to the start and park owners. All they car about is getting money since they don't run a lot of laps anyway. Some of the start and park teams including the 41 and the 05 started the race without a crew chief. I don't know what was up with all the speeding penalties last night. 4. Last I heard, a driver can still act as his own crew chief. (Wasn't Hut Stricklin the crew chief for the #90 in 2001?) 5. Darrell posted: 06.14.2009 - 7:28 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Townley should go back to ARCA or Trucks and get some more experience. He's talented enough, but he's not ready for Nationwide. That and a rookie driver driving for a rookie team never meshes well. Edwards just needs to learn that he doesn't need to run the double anymore. He should get out of the car and let Roush's development drivers get more races in. Dan Stillman isn't a bad crew chief, in fact he made Paul Menard look like a future Cup champion! 9. How do you explain that? 10. Timmy Quivy posted: 06.15.2009 - 12:28 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) First ever top-ten for Michael Annett. First top-ten for Burney Lamar since 2006. First start for Chris Horn since 2007 while Chad Blount returned after his last start in 2005. 11. Good race, great run by Logano, Gaughan, Allgaier, Annett, Lamar and plenty others. 12. Very realistic possibility of finishing in the top 5 in points this year....only 85 out of 6th and Logano isnt driving the full scheudle...great season on its way for sure. 13. WallaceFan posted: 06.15.2009 - 6:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) And KEVIN CONWAY.... This guy had an average finish of 29th in 7 races in the 18car for Joe Gibbs in 2007. 2 years later he has finished 23, 24, and 15 in three races in the low quality 87 for Joe Nemechek.... Maybe he has the talent but couldnt handle the pressure? 15. Here's a list of those drivers: #18 - Brad Coleman (sub for Kyle Busch) #20 - Jeremy Clements (sub for Joey Logano) #60 - Auggie Vidovich (sub for Carl Edwards) Coleman participated in both practice sessions, but neither Clements nor Vidovich had any track time due to Logano and Edwards, respectively, making it to Kentucky in time for both practice sessions. All three Cup drivers qualified their respective Nationwide cars. 23. Stanton was in on lap 1, but he kept going and wound up wrecking the car coming to the line on lap 2. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
