Do you honestly think we believe this ****? The two "debris" cautions did absolutely nothing for this race. I'm not a Logano fan, and he deserved to win by 10 seconds. 2. hyperacti posted: 07.11.2009 - 12:08 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Only a team owned by Dale Jr. could've made the kind of mistake that both BK and Newman made tonight. Joey was walking away with it when Nascar threw a fake debris caution on lap 93 over 50 laps later Joey finally got the lead back and with less than 20 to go they throw another fake debris caution and he stands the lone ranger with no tires. He showed them and Kyle Busch up by walking away with it anyway. It's pathetic Nascar has to control races this way because of all the causual fans who complain of boring races. Sure Joey Logano was walking away with the win, but it was anything but boring to a real racing fan. I was still watching every lap. This race would have ended with 3 cars on the lead lap if it wasn't for the phantom debris of Nascar. Us real fans like to see complete domination every once in a awhile...its more exciting and real than Nascar trying to manufacture an excitin race. 4. The debris cautions were totally ridiculous. It is more manufactured "drama" and "excitement" that is neither dramatic or exciting. It is totally fake and continues to rob NASCAR races of any competitive integrity. And the telecast was totally slanted. Once again ESPN spotlights Brad's and Rusty's teams while ignoring all the other non-Cup Nationwide cars. They had huge pre-race features about RWI's new alliance with KHI and had Brad do an extensive talk about his team's lack of sponsorship and need to "start and park" but ignored the other struggling teams and their potential prospects. Then, during the race, they showed a dramatic battle between Rusty's #66 car and another car THAT WERE TWO LAPS DOWN!!!!! Meanwhile Nationwide only teams of Jason Leffler and Mike Bliss have good lead lap runs and are virtually invisible during the telecast. They need to get Rusty and Brad out of the broadcast team. As I've said before, I am a huge Tar Heels Hoops fan, so I love Brad, AS A BASKETBALL PLAYER. His announcing is terrible and causes him to be biased. I'm glad he's involved with NASCAR, but get him out of the booth. I think Dale Jr was doing the fuel claculations for his teams. 6. Anonymous posted: 07.11.2009 - 1:16 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) How can a race organization miscalculate fuel for all the teams they own? I didn't see any debris on the race track on my television screen. While the race was a snoozefest, I rather have that instead of "fake cautions". Not every race can be excited, and I think new race fans needs to realize that. 7. DaleSrFanForever posted: 07.12.2009 - 6:16 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The bottom line there is that Jack Roush is a bitch to work for. It seems like every single one of his drivers leave for another team. Nobody ever retires with Roush. He lost elite talents in Mark Martin and Jeff Burton to Chevy teams. And it seems like every couple of years Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth talk about possibly leaving. I'd be surprised if they end their careers there. And with Carl Edwards bi-polar temperment I'd be shocked if he spends his whole career there. Then Jack shitcanned the rest of them, like Johnny Benson and Ted Musgrave. I think Kyle and Joey realized this and fled for greener pastures. 23. Anonymous posted: 07.12.2009 - 8:02 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) There are a couple facts about Roush that DaleSrFanForever didn't mention. 1.) Jack seems to have an iron fist with the ford racing program in Nascar in terms of what teams can race in Fords. 2.) Jack supplies other Ford teams with equipment and it is questionable how good that is unlike Hendrick giving Stewart. 3.) Jack Roush is responsible for having sponsors leave Nascar or leave his team because of his asking price. Jack is the reason why Jeff Burton left Roush because of lack of sponsorship for the 99 car. 4.) Jack doesn't believe in drivers shouldn't be with a crew chief for my than 3 or 4 years. I heard on this on television a couple years ago. This can make a driver like an owner. Jack cost Carl Edwards a chase spot because of this in 2006. He took his crew chief to Jamie McMurray's team because both teams didn't have great finishes. The problem was Carl was running great, but had bad luck unlike Jamie. Carl stuggled with his new crew chief and had to give him his old crew chief back. 24. Anonymous posted: 07.12.2009 - 8:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I forgot to mention Jack Roush treats drivers below the cup level like crap. Here are prime examples: 1.) Nathan Haseleu and Chuck Hossfeld didn't get a fair shake in the truck series. The two truck teams for the 2001 season were starting from scratch in personnel. They didn't have the same equipment or personnel as Kurt Busch and Biffle had in 2000. The two drivers that had were at a disadvantage as result. Nathan had 4 top 10's in 12 starts. 2.) Jack fired Joe Ruttman at a teams Christmas party in 1998 despite finishing 3rd points. Joe had no idea before the Christmas party that he was going to be fired. 25. Dodge posted: 07.12.2009 - 11:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) WallaceFan, I looked but could not come up with an answer to why Kyle Busch left Roush. The reason why Jack lost Mark is that Mark decided to RETIRE from the Cup series so Jack anounced that at first Todd Kluever was going to replace Mark but when it became clear that Kluever had little to no potential, he decided to put David Ragan. Then, all of a sudden Mark said he wanted to race part time in Cup and Roush could not field another car, even part time because supposedly NASCAR rule says that only for a rookie you can run an extra car up to 7 races. As for Burton, from 2001 to when he left midseason 2004, he was an average driver at best. How can you get a sponsor for somebody who struggled for FOUR years? As for Haseleu and Hossfeld, considering that they had ZERO sponsor for the most part and were struggling, Jack knew that if he wanted to continue in that series, he had to do whatever it took or he would of had to close up the truck teams. 26. 18fan posted: 07.13.2009 - 1:49 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) While Kyle was driving for Roush is when NASCAR changed the age limit. Kyle went down to ASA for 2002-2003. When he came came up to ARCA and Busch, he was driving for Hendrick. I don't know when he left Roush. I am a Kyle fan, but his attitude when he finishes 2nd is pathetic. He is fine when he finishes 3-10, but he just starts saying bull**** stuff because he's unhappy he didn't win. 27. Anonymous posted: 07.13.2009 - 9:32 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Dodge, Why didn't you say word about the treatment of Joe Ruttman by Jack Roush? Is it the same reason why wanted my home race track, the Milwaukee Mile gone from the schedule? That is being a person that thinks everyone should treated like shit. Speaking of the Milwaukee Mile, you wanted the closest race track to me to close, I hope the race tracks in your area close down or gets damage from natural disaster like a flood to see how it feels to see a race track that you go to several years as result. That race track has rich tradition in racing. Calling it a dump is inexcusable and wanting it to be close shows how selfish you are to people that actually go to the Milwaukee Mile including myself. You shouldn't made the comment as you did on the track on found on http://www.racing-reference.info/race?id=2009-15&series=B . The last race Nationwide race at the Milwaukee Mile was exciting for passing for the lead on the track before Edwards and Kyle Busch made it easy to run away from rest of the pack. 28. DaleSrFanForever posted: 07.13.2009 - 12:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "2.) Jack supplies other Ford teams with equipment and it is questionable how good that is unlike Hendrick giving Stewart." I agree 100%. It just seem like Jack is always one step behind the curve. Every few years he'll get ahead briefly, but fall behind again. Right now he is behind on the way to handle satellite teams. He has the Yates guys right next to his shop, and still can't do it right. If you look, Roush drivers rarely have 2 really good years in a row. Look at Carl this year. 9 wins last year, none past halfway this year. He followed his 4 win rookie season with a goose egg. The Biff had a great season in 2005, then disappeared for the next two years, reappeared in 2008, and has disappeared again. "2.) Jack fired Joe Ruttman at a teams Christmas party in 1998 despite finishing 3rd points. Joe had no idea before the Christmas party that he was going to be fired." I didn't know that!! That's a son of a bitch for ya! "1.) Nathan Haseleu and Chuck Hossfeld didn't get a fair shake in the truck series." Jack has a LONG line of development drivers that he dropped on their asses. They run well for a year in trucks, then he gives them a crappy ride elsewhere and they disappear. Todd Kleuver, Jon Wood, Danny O' Quinn, Travis Kvapil. No wonder Joey and Kyle wanted no part of that! 29. Bronco posted: 07.13.2009 - 2:00 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Dodge pretty much nailed the reason why Mark left Roush. As I understand Mark planned on retiring after the 2005 season and McMurray was set to replace him. But during that year, Kurt decided to leave the 97 team, even though he won the inaugral cha$e. Apparently Roush couldn't find a suitable replacement for the 97 car (although I'm sure Travis Kvapil would have taken the ride) so McMurray was moved to Kurt's old team, and Mark stayed in the 6 for another year. Then, instead of retiring after 2006, Mark brought up the ridiculous notion of a part time schedule, and since Roush wouldn't allow that, he went to the 01 team, a move which would cost Joe Nemechek his career. "If you look, Roush drivers rarely have 2 really good years in a row" That is so true. To me I think it's because he plays favorities. In the 1990s, Burton and Martin were light years ahead of Benson, Musgrave, Little, Lepage. You could make a case that Little and Lepage shouldn't have been in Cup, but Benson and Musgrave had lots of talent. In the 2000s, Mark Martin went winless in 2001, nearly won the 2002 championship, then had another bad year in 2003 (while Kenseth won the championship and Busch won a bunch of races). Part of the reason is because he likes to shuffle crew chiefs. He took away Stoddard from Jeff Burton, took Reiser away from Kenseth, took Osborne from Edwards, took Tryson away from the 6, took Fennig from the 97. And don't get me started on Yates, it's clear that both Menard and Labonte are driving junk. Menard ran better with DEI (though it's not saying much) and Labonte was a top 20 driver while he drove for the King. 30. I have not seen proof that is what happened to Ruttman. As for the Milwaukee Mile comment I left, what I meant is that 1) if a track can't pay for the event when the money is due, then the management of the track is screwed up. 2) for a couple of years now they have been trying to get a new promoter but nobody appears that they want to do it there at that track. 3) The local track that is near me on the schedule, NHMS, fans always say that the track sucks so it should be done away with as passing is tough and The Milwaukee Mile is the same. Remember, WE all have opinions and I stated my OPINION and you have yours. Unfortunately, racing is not as popular here where I live. 31. Here it is: http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/1999/oct/31/ganassi-chooses-toyota-engines/ . It didn't mention he got fired at a Christmas Party, but getting fired in December makes it possible. The Milwaukee Mile is run much differently than your race track Dodge. While the track has promoter, the promoter has little say. The Milwaukee Mile is owned by the state government, and the Wisconsin State fair board has the say what happens to the money. The Milwaukee Mile is on Wisconsin State Fair Park land. The land is owned by the state. Here is a map on the Wisconsin Fair Park Propery: http://www.wistatefair.com/09_web/pdfs/maps/2009_map.pdf . The Whole Property has been mismanaged for years. It started when the new grandstands were built and new buildings replacing old building. The problem is the state has been losing money on the land for years despite having buildings as the map shows. The state had building built early this decade, but haven't been have made a profit for a few years. Outside of Racing, that property was losing money for the last few years because of the following reasons: 1.) State over charges vendors and restaurants since the new building were built. know the Wisconsin State Park land since I have been on the property as a race fan, fair goer, and know workers that work at places that have a stand or a building on Wisconsin State Fair Park land. Most of Vendor fees caused the reasons below. 2.) State Fair doesn't have the events or things happening all year long since they replaced the old building due the money vendors have to pay. State Fair used to have events like having flea markets events once or twice a month in Buildings and other events. 3.) There are less Vendors are there doing the Wisconsin State Fair, or Restaurants on State Fair land open for Milwaukee Race dates. I know person that no longer open their stand on Race dates outside having their stand open during the Wisconsin State Fair. It is caused by the fees a vendor has to pay. 4.) People that have race tickets go to restaurants and pubs outside of Wisconsin State Fair Property to eat since they are a couple blocks away from the race track. The same thing hold true during the Wisconsin State Fair. The places open on State Fair grounds are very expensive eat. Cotton candy costing at least $10.00 on state fair grounds. You only could imagine the prices for brats, etc. on the grounds after the price of cotton candy. It is caused by the price the vendors get by the state. I know people that can back the price of the food. 5.) The State built to much at once. They got new grand stands and lights were for the mile, but the state also demolished and built new buildings on Wisconsin State Fair Park Property around the same time. The state built so much that some of the new building didn't have any building at that spot prior. 33. I went through the same thing with North Wilkesboro, which is 30 minutes west of where I live. I loved watching races there. Some of my most cherished childhood memories happened there. I can still remember watching Dale Earnhardt pass Harry Gant on the outside in 1991 to end his winning streak. Then Bruton closed it down without a second thought with NASCAR's blessing. I hope Milwaukee survives for you. 34. When the question was asked I was expecting Mark to give his usual diplomatic answer and say beyond a doubt he's glad he stayed with Roush but now loves being at Hendrick. While he did evetually say he's glad to race for Jack all those years, he beat around the bush for awhile and when he eventually did say he was glad he stuck with Jack, he didn't say it with his usual diplomatic enthusiasm. Considering Mark and Jack's ralationship I thought that was very telling 35. However, I still don't think NASCAR or IRL will be racing there in 2010. My opinion is that next to Auto Club and Michigan Speedways on the truck and Nationwide schedule's, Milwaukee is a boring track. As for Ruttman, did he say it was December when he found out. For all we know, his contract may of ended and he thought he'd be back so he did not look around for another ride because he felt like he was going to be back.
