And the Toyotas/Buschwhackers lose, which makes it even better. The only predictable part of this finish was Krybaby Kyle crying over finishing 3rd. This was one of the best Michigan races in a long time 2. DaleSrFanForever posted: 08.15.2009 - 10:48 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) What an awesome job by Brad Keselowski!!! I'm telling ya, this kid is the future, especially if he lands anywhere at Hendrick. The Toyotas are killing everyone in this series, yet he's found a way to win 3 times already. Tony Stewart, you need to be opening up a spot for him right now if you're smart. Congrats to Brad on his hometown win. Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers are both dumbasses. It was stupid for Brian to totally lose track of Kes and keep them both pinned on the apron while Brad was motoring along. He had the top line, if he would have raced normal he would have won, but he chokes yet again. But Kyle had no right to be that upset. As Brian said, it is racing. He shouldn't expect people to roll over for him. First of all, that isn't true racing. And secondly he hasn't earned that right. He is extremely talented and in superior equipment, yet he would miss the cha$e if it started now. He isn't who he thinks he is. At least he acknowledged he's a crybaby and a whiner in his interview. And the post race stuff was uncalled for, although Brian has no right to complain since he totally trashed Scott Speed's car at Loudon. I guess it's OK when he does it. As Willy said, big face melter to Toyota, Buschwhackers, and two rich kid douches who don't deserve all the breaks they have got in life. Carl Edwards only makes it two laps. Every wants to blame either Trevor Bayne or Carl, but I think Brad Coleman should have been lower since it was three wide and he was on the bottom. Trevor tried to give him room and ended up making contact with Carl who also assumed they would be lower. 3. It's a shame that the Dusty Whitney owned team entered a third car for this race (#92) just to start and park it and send a real racer like Morgan Shepherd home. Morgan didn't appear to have much speed in qualifying but he would have ran the entire race had he made it in. John Wes Townley scraped the wall in qualifying and didn't even make a lap. 4. I have a lot of respect for Jerry and how he was involved in this sport for a long long time, way before it went mainstream, but he just sucks the energy right out of the booth. They should keep doing what they did in this race. Let Alan handle all the promotional stuff and let those four talk. I love the way they all teased Rusty about losing money with his cars. One thing about Evernham though: Could he be any skinnier? I thought the camera added about 15 pounds. He is like me, tall and skinny like a beanpole. Has he just quit eating? (insert Erin Crocker joke here) 5. Kit posted: 08.15.2009 - 11:34 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) You know, DSFF, now that you mention it, I never understood how these guys with millions in the bank could be that skinny, like the Busch brothers for example. It's not like these guys want to be skinny and they have the resources to not be skinny, so I never understood it. With me, I weigh in the low 200s with low body fat, I'm in the weight room at least four days a week, and after a while it's not difficult at all for me to eat 3,500-4,000 calories a day with PLENTY of protein. I got serious with it in college and I was only spending eight or nine dollars a day of food from the grocery store. It wasn't hard, just took committment and consistency. I can understand why guys get overweight once they have responsibilities like children and work, though. As far as Evernham is concerned, he's had a stressful last several years (mostly his own fault) and I'm sure he hasn't worried about his physical fitness as a result. He could still be a top team owner if he didn't get so side tracked. As far as the race is concerned, John Wes Townley has no business in this series. He makes Steve Wallace look good. Unfortunately, Townley can make more money wrecking in this series than he can winning in another. Lofton did really well tonight this being his first start. I really hope Brad Keselowski gets put in a Hendrick car and Kahne takes over for Jeff Gordon when he retires (which might not be long for now). Can't believe that Tony Stewart wouldn't consider Keselowski for a ride and rumors are circulating about Danica Patrick. What a bunch of horseshit if that's true. That's like wanting a little kid to draw a picture and instead of asking the 10-year-old who can draw between the lines to do it, you ask the four-year-old who makes a mess with his Play Doh. 9. hyperacti posted: 08.15.2009 - 11:40 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ironic that 2009 Hendrick development driver, Brad Keselowski beat 2004 Hendrick development driver Kyle Busch and 2003 Hendrick Development driver Brian Vickers for this win. 10. "Buck, unfortunately Morgan sent loads of race teams home when he was starting and parking for years, so my sympathy is low... " What in the world are you talking about? Morgan has always run quality, the guy has 4 Cup wins! 3 of which are at Atlanta and drove with some good teams in his long stand in Nascar 11. But with Carl Edwards finishing 40th, Kyle pushed his lead in the points even further. JJ Yeley makes his first NASCAR start in 2009, finishing 21st. Hopefully it's his last, the guy is horrible. 12. 18fan posted: 08.16.2009 - 1:50 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I think that both Kyle and Brian were out of line in their interviews in different ways. I am a Kyle fan, but what Vickers did on the last lap is racing. However, I believe that if Vickers held his line, he would have won anyways because he had a better car. Also, the coverage ESPN used in the race was awesome. It wasn't like this in this race because the finish was exciting, but I am tired of ESPN acting like Keselowski is still a Nationwide-only driver. If you have won a Cup race, you're a Cup driver. His situation is similar to Jaime McMurray in 2002 except Jaime came in at the end. 13. Bronco posted: 08.16.2009 - 6:25 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Does anybody know why Jerry Punch wasn't doing play by play? I started watching this race only at the drop of the green flag so I was surprised to not hear his voice. Whatever the reason was, I was extremely disappointed to see Allen Bestwick not doing play by play. Nobody adds excitement to a race like he does. Brian Vickers once again proved what a moron he is by running Shrub down on the apron, only to lose the lead and momentum himself. I guess he didn't learn his lesson after driving Dale Jr into the grass at Daytona. I look at him losing this race as karma biting him in the ass for openly trashing his teammate at New Hampshire. Good to see Kez score a hometown win. If he's smart he'll stay with this team instead of trying to jump up to Cup too soon. Anyone notice how the 11 car has had mechanical issues two weeks straight after firing Scott Lagasse? Serves them right. 14. nascarman posted: 08.16.2009 - 9:16 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) ESPN tried a "backseat drivers" type of coverage for this race only where they only used former drivers/ crew chiefs to announce rather than broadcasters. Yeah, I started lifting about a year and a half ago. I look better, but still have a ways to go. I'm 6 foot 1 but only about 165. I was really bad after college, I really beat myself up emotionally to get my degree (which got me nowhere, but that is another story) and I looked awful. A lot like Evernham. My chest and arms aren't completely flat anymore, they actually have definition which is an improvement. 18. Lagasse's stats were worse than Keller's with CJM, and Lagasse had a much better car to step into. The Toyotas and Gibb support = HUGE DIFFERENCE. 19. That is the other rumor. He should get the young, hungry driver that won a Cup race with a 35th place car and can beat the Gibbs Toyotas occasionally despite having WAY less horsepower. Put him in top notch equipment, sit back, and collect the owner's share of the money. I think Brad can be a Cup champion one day if he gets good people around him and doesn't pull a Denny Hamlin and let the accolades go to his head. Harvick on the other hand is already on the downward slope. He has shown his true colors this year as RCR has struggled. When it ain't right, he mails it in. And yeah, it would be great to see what Kahne could do in top notch equipment. I can't believe he has 10 wins. If he were with Hendrick he would dominate. 20. He drives so sporadically in Cup he doesn't have anywhere near the experience of racing against the best that Kyle and Carl have or even Logano. With their high powered Toytoas and lots of Cup experience, Kyle and Brian have no excuse for losing to Brad except for the fact that Brad is better. And how about Kyle saying "Brad didn't deserve to win". Kiss my ass you son of a bitch. You have had everything handed to you and always had superior equipment. That is the secret to your success. If you drove for RPM this year, you'd be 28th in points. You don't "deserve" anything you rotten, ill tempered, immature piece of shit!! How many people would trade places with you in a heartbeat? You are a young millionaire with loads of natural talent, a private jet, the best equipment, people kissing your ass at every turn, and a super hot girlfriend that wouldn't be caught dead with you if you weren't rich and famous. Sure you're freakishly ugly, but when you're rich people don't care. Go back to whatever rock you crawled from under! "Finally Cryle Busch admits he is a baby and whiner. I have said bad things about others for no good reason, always had a huge chip on my shoulder despite being more fortunate than 99.99999% of the world, and felt a sense of entitlement that was totally bogus. I've been given way more than I deserve, yet still treated people around me like bum shit. Hopefully I'll get lapped in the remaining 10 races and fired and blackballed from NASCAR and spend the rest of my life feeling bad about squandering this opportunity. And Holy shit, Am I one ugly son of a bitch or what??" 21. Bronco, you know my feeling about Dale Jr, but I agree with this. I still blame Vickers for the Daytona 500 wreck. He waited to late to block, and triggered the big wreck. That is the thing about Brian, he can drive fast, but can't race. He hesitates too much and loses track of his surroundings. He has had great equipment in his career but never did anything with it. When you are at Hendrick for 3 years and only win once after wrecking the two leaders ON THE STRAIGHTAWAY you have no room to trash anyone. 22. I honestly don't see how you can support Kyle Busch in this situation. Kyle got 3rd, but he still complains. And coming to the white flag, are you just supposed to let someone by? NO! And it was obvious that Vickers wasn't going to get by him if Kyle made it by based on his loose car, he made the right decision. And in the midst of all of this, Brad had a good run and came out of nowhere, how was he supposed to see that coming? 23.
