Unfortunate.... very sad. :( It may be the end of the road for his team. 2. Willy on Wheels posted: 09.06.2009 - 12:02 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The #11 team blows an engine. It's called karma. Although I wish a buschwhacker was driving it instead of Kelly Bires who deserves a decent ride 3. 18fan posted: 09.06.2009 - 12:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Harvick was clearly the class of the field. Junior would have finished third anyways, but he stretched his fuel, as did Keselowski. Yet another DNQ for John Wes Townley because of a qualifying crash. I wonder how many times in its 2 year history that MSRP Motorsports cars have finished next-to-last and last in the same race. 4. Same thing with Dale Jr. Is it just me or does it seem like Harvick is going to end up being more well-known as a Nationwide driver than Cup? 5. All 3 times it has happened, it was Keselowski and Dale Jr. First time since 2004 (Bristol) that Dale Jr. won a Nationwide series pole. James Finch's #1 car gets its first top 10 since Mike Bliss was released. 7th time this season that Roush Fenway had three cars finish in the top 10. Third top 15 finish of the year for the #42 car. 7. DaleSrFanForever posted: 09.06.2009 - 2:41 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I can't believe how watered down this series is getting. I know its been going in this direction for a while, but NASCAR needs to do something soon (HA!). 8. Worst race of the year for Steve, just couldnt find the setup, and with long green runs, not gonna help. 9. Mike posted: 09.06.2009 - 3:57 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Great finish. Looked like Jr was gonna pull it off but the 33 and 18 were able to catch him. Still a great call though 10. John Wrecks Townley DNQ'd again due to crashing in Qualifying, how along before that team gives him the boot. 11. Happy for Jr! 13. DaleSrFanForever posted: 09.07.2009 - 10:17 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) John Wrecks Weekly, further proof that talent means nothing in NASCAR when it comes to getting a ride. If your Daddy either owns the team or writes the checks to the team, it doesn't matter, kinda like Sir Wrecksalot. Another example is Tony Stewart bending over backwards to get Danica stock car experience with ARCA, Busch, and Truck rides while ignoring Brad Keselowski. Mark my words, he will regret this BIG TIME! 14. Bronco posted: 09.07.2009 - 11:31 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Dale Jr earns a rare Nationwide pole, and nearly wins the race for his sponsor in his final Nationwide start of 2009. I really wish he had won it, but no question that Harvick deserved this one. Good to see someone other than the #18 crush the competition. Who is Sir Wrecksalot? I hope you're not mentioning Steve Wallace, who has shown a tremendous amount of improvement this year. Don't bring up his 6 crashes at Montreal, since everyone else was crashing and spinning as well. David Gilliland gets a great finish with an underfunded team. 15. Mark my words, he will regret this BIG TIME! I know if I was Rick Hendrick, I would be TERMINATING the contract of Stewart-Haas Motorsports has with the team. Stewart-Haas gets EVERYTHING they need. It sounds like the the cars are even already put together for Tony and he pulls what he has pulled saying that he don't think Brad is a good driver. Guess what Tony, it took Brad less starts to win in Cup when it is MORE competitive now than it was then. Plus when he runs the 25 car, he has the SUPPOSEDLY bad crew chief in Tony Eury Jr. and he is in competion for a top ten each time. I personally don't like the whole organization but I do like Brad Keselowski. 17. Yeah, but nobody else performed the "human bowling ball" maneuver like Sir Wrecksalot did. Even by his low standards, that was pretty embarrassing. Besides, 6 spins is still 6 spins. He broke the record for most spins in a race previously held by Davey Allison at North Wilkesboro in 1990 and Dale Earnhardt at Watkins Glen in 1990. "I know if I was Rick Hendrick, I would be TERMINATING the contract of Stewart-Haas Motorsports has with the team." Ain't that the truth!!! After all the support he gave that team. Either that, or I'd give them engines originally built in the mid 1980's for Geoff Bodine. 18. RR posted: 09.08.2009 - 12:37 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) There's a big difference between a part time Busch deal (quite feasible) and a full time Cup deal (pretty hard to put together. Add that to the fact that Danica has about 500x the exposure Brad has, and it not that big of a deal. Then again, how is Tony obligated to scrounge up a team for Keselowski? Hendrick doesn't "give" Stewart anything; Hendrick loves that Haas wind tunnel, 7 post, etc. 19. Talon64 posted: 09.08.2009 - 7:33 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Not a great race for the rookies, Annett was best in 14th with Allgaier 17th (but back up to 5th in points), Gaughan 31st and McDowell 35th in a pseudo-S&P where he went into the garage, came back out laps down to run some more than then parked it for good so I don't know if it was the original intention or not. Trevor Bayne finished 16th from his 9th top 10 start of the season in just 11 races. Although Harvick and Busch had everyone covered, Kahne still had a shot at what would've been the Atlanta sweep if it hadn't been for the speeding penalty during green flag stops. Keselowski's average finish is now even with Carl's at 7.7, but more bonus points for laps led and more top fives and top tens give Carl the edge in the points. Finally, Travis Kvapil will be driving the 09 at Richmond, replacing John Wes Townley. Kvapil drove the 09 Xaxby's Ford in the Truck Series last year so the sponsor must like him. 20. Mark my words, he will regret this BIG TIME!" Danica doesn't deserve good equipment until she at least LEARNS how to drive a freakin' stock-car!!! Tony usually makes smart decisions, but this is without a doubt one of the dumbest moves by an owner I've seen since I've started watching NASCAR. Brad Keselowski is the real deal. That kid has a ton of talent, and let's face it, JR Motorsports would be in a lot of trouble right now if Brad had never driven for them. Yeah, let's ignore someone who would win the Nationwide championship this year without Kyle and Carl, not to mention won in only his 5TH CUP START, and snag up an unproven female. 22. Trevor Bayne and Kelly Bires actually have a future in NASCAR. MWR would be smart to keep Bayne, and JR Motorsports needs a talent like Bires. Kelly basically took a car that was supposed to start-and-park to a top-5 at Iowa! 23. Dodge posted: 09.09.2009 - 11:22 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I wasn't doubting Lagasse, I also believe he has what it takes. Just remembered that Brian Scott drove at Brisol in the 11 which I forgot about when I typed my comment. I believe with Scott and Bayne, the future looks bright. As for Bires, I am a fan of Ted Musgrave and when he took out Ted, I lost a lot of respect for Bires. 24. Talon64 posted: 09.09.2009 - 7:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I don't know of Lagasse is THAT talented, he had 2 wins in just 14 ARCA races but wasn't that great in Trucks and Jason Keller did a better job in the 11 before Lagasse took over. I like that they're putting Bayne in the car, he's definently got a ton of talent and MWR is lucky to have both him and Ryan Truex coming up through the ranks. 25. He would have improved with more time, which those morons didn't give him. And he was doing pretty darn good, IMO. Much better than Denny Hamlin has done in that ride. 26. Talon64 posted: 09.10.2009 - 5:14 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Hamlin had mechanical failures in his two starts so it's impossible to judge. Frankly guys like Justin Lofton, Kelly Bires and Trevor Bayne have shown more potential than he has so as long as they stick with running those guys then I'm alright with it. Besides Lagasse has that pizza sponsorship that's sticking with him so he's bound to find a ride somewhere for next season because he did show he can be a decent full time Nationwide driver. And because Lagasse got fired Andrew Ranger got the opportunity to drive the car to a 3rd place finish at Montreal. :) 27.
