He restarted 10th on the outside lane, and was immediately 7th, after the inside lane stacked up, he than capitalized on the front group going 3 wide and battling; and soon made an easy pass of Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick. At this time, Brad had cleared Logano and had looked to have checked out, and have the race run, but Kyle's 4 tires were about a .5 a second faster than Brad's two, allowing Kyle to make the race winning pass with 5 to go. I don't like Kyle, I hate his attitude, his personality, everything, but if I can pick one driver, to win me a race right now, he'd be the unanimous vote. On Lap 137, Kyle was trying to out trick the #22 by, stacking the field, and waiting to restart, he waited so long that he had passed the legal restarting zone, and stacked the field causing a 13 car pileup. Brad did not receiving a penalty for restarting ahead of the leader, because the race had restarted when the second line was passed. Because of this Kyle's brain scrambled and tried to be an idiot, by restarting too early on the restart. He beat the leader Brad to the line, therefore receiving a penalty. Brad really got into the head of Kyle, and I thought Brad had it all wrapped up. But I must give credit where credit is due. Kyle won this race, not his team, not NASCAR or any other factor. Congrats to Kyle, still don't like you. Go Brad 2. DaleSrFanForever posted: 04.10.2010 - 9:33 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) It was a good comeback, but Kyle had the car all night. At one point, he stayed out during a caution while most of the others (including Brad, who had the 2nd best car all night except on really long runs) pitted and got 4 fresh tires. Even with older tires, he still pulled away by 3 seconds. Don't get me wrong, Kyle has OUT OF THIS WORLD talent, but he still has his head up his own ass. The restart he got penalized on was pure stupidity. Despite clearly having the best car, he darn near screwed himself. If NASCAR doesn't throw a caution for a big pile of tape that was out of the racing groove, and if Kyle doesn't cause that pileup that took out a lot of cars he would have had to have passed after his penalty, then he screws himself. Again. But at least it isn't the worst he's shot himself in the foot. Forcing Steve Addington out of his Cup team takes the cake on that one. Cooper, I agree with most of your points, that is a great post, but if I had to pick one driver to win, it is undoubtably JJ. Although I agree Kyle, along with Tony, has the most natural driving talent, he always lets his emotions get the best of him when even the slightest thing goes wrong (as does Tony to a lesser extent). JJ has an inhuman ability to take the emotions out of it, take what the race gives him, hang in there when things aren't going right, keep himself in contention, allow others to make mistakes, then when the time is right, he pounces like nobody else currently active can. I'm sick of watching him win, but he would be my pick on any given weekend. 3. Frank posted: 04.10.2010 - 9:45 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Once again NASCAR could'n make their own rules clear before specific issue occurs. I don't think Kyle made big mistake during first restart - actually is was guy named Casey Mears who pushed throttle instead of brake when other checked up - and then he did exactly the same thing for what Keselowski didn't receive penalty. Last laps by #18 was AWESOME. Great to see Kyle in shape again, obviously he learns how to be patient when something went wrong. Sad that Harvick passed Brad on last lap but funny that #60 didn't led a lap starting from pole on the track he nearly dominates last years. Shame on Bires for careless move off his pit stall which costs Allgaier valuable points. 4. On the other hand, this was Braun's 4th crash DNF in 6 races so far, and both are still on the GOGH list. Steve Wallace has dropped like a rock in points after starting with 3 straight top 10s, while Brendan Gaughan got his best finish of the year. John Wrecks Weekly was replaced for this race only because he wrecked a car in practice. He hasn't lost his ride or anything. 7. b4il3y posted: 04.10.2010 - 1:13 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Missed the race..glad I did..when I want to see Cup I'll watch Cup. 8. He didn't go quick enough on the restart that caused a huge crash and resulted in Brad Keselowski taking the lead, so he throws a temper tantrum and goes way too early on the next restart. He's lucky he got a caution at the end, and everyone up front was going nuts trying to win. No way he wins without that. John Wrecks Weekly gets replaced by Bowyer after crashing in practice, and despite having early battery problems and going a lap down and then getting caught up on the restart crash he gave the 21 their best finish of the season. 9. cale_gale posted: 04.10.2010 - 2:12 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Brendan Gaughan finished a season best 4th. I'm not sure where he came from but he was there when it mattered and got a great finish. The same could also be said for Scott Lagasse Jr. who finished a season best and tied a career best finishing in 8th. Ricky Stenhouse gets a top 10 finish also. This is the first time this year that he has even finished within 33 laps of the leader. Tony Raines tied a season best finish in 14th and Johnny Sauter gave the #23 car its best finish of the season. Disappointing finish for Justin Allgaier who was involved in a pit road accident with Kelly Bires during the final pit stop. Allgaier had run in the top 10 all night, it's his first non top 10 finish of the season. Carl Edwards is now the only driver with top 10 finishes in all 6 races this year. 10. luigistarted06 posted: 04.10.2010 - 2:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I've got to defend Colin Braun here, because he's had worse luck than anyone this season. At Daytona he was an caught up in the big one, something not of his making. At Las Vegas, Steven Wallace drilled him in the middle of a turn while he was running top 10 and just got flat taken out. At Bristol, Brian Scott got spun in front of him, and he had no where to go and got into that accident. At Nashville, Steven Wallace, Jason Keller, and others all got wrecked in front of him in that big accident and he had no where at all to go to avoid it. And last night, he was just an innocent bystander in that big restart accident, I mean anyone could have been taken out in it and it was just awful luck on Colins part that he was involved in it. I mean he's been in 5 accidents this season, but none of them have been his fault at all. When he is taken out in something that is of his making, sure go ahead and bash him then. But don't bash and trash another driver just because he's been caught up in accidents not of his doing. It just doesn't make any sense. 11. 12345Dude posted: 04.10.2010 - 3:05 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I feel really bad for Justin Allgaier. I really wanted to see how long he could stay in the top 3 in the sprint cup jv series points. Too bad he had to have that problum on pit road. He worked really hard to get to 5th. And the reason you saw Lagasse Stenhouse and even Gaughan finish so good, was beacause of the wreck that happen during the middle of the race. Stenhouse and Lagasse's top 10's would of been filled by Steve Wallace and Casey Mears. Gaughan would of finished in the top 10. And I'm also REALLY happy to see Mike Wallace finish in the top 25 after the wreck with Steve Wallace before. Good for him. Hope that team gets some sponcership. 12. Driving with a broken ankle Steve blows a tire and slams the wall....after the huge 15car wreck he did manage to gain 7 spots back...but a 30th place finish still wont do. Really need a bounce back finish next week. And to whoever said theyre glad they missed this race...you must not like good racing. THe final 8 laps of this race were epic. Really only 3 of them. What a restart. Kyle restarts 10th...cars goign 3-4 wide. Keselowski hits Joey driving him up the track, bunching everyone up. He pulls away but Kyle splits everyone else and with no problem at all runs down Keselowski and leads the final 5. Espn reported JWT was fired by CHildress...but childress denied it. I dont care how much money is pouring in, I wouldnt let some guy wreck my car every week. (a guy arrested for drinking no less.) 13. Cooper posted: 04.10.2010 - 3:33 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) You know what WallaceFan, a lot of people have given a lot of flack to Steven, but he is a good driver. When he doesn't wreck, he automatically finishes in the top 10. Most of the wrecks that Steven is in, isn't directly because of Steven, but rather with the guys he races with. When you run in the positions of 10th-20th you get mixed with Cup guys who don't care about other drivers, they just want to win, so they drive recklessly. In addition you have to race with cars with bad equipment. You're going to get into a wreck 50% of the time. Steven's averaging starting spot in his career is 19.7. Therefore every race he's in danger. It's up to the crew chief to get Steven track position, and to get the car to run a quick lap. In addition Steven's teammate; Brendan Gaughan had a great run, with a 4th place finish. Very impressive. 14. Brad K looks to be running away with it, but Kyle gets back around him and wins. I'm gonna say it, Kyle had THE car last night. Brendan Gaughan gets a good 4th-place finish, and Paul Menard keeps up his decent season with another top-10. I believe this is also the first top-10 of the year for both Lagasse and Stenhouse. I'm disappointed in Kelly Bires' race though. He got in some contact on pit road and ended up with a 16th place finish. As long as no more idiots decide to ruin his day on pit road he'll get back into it. Allgaier's essentially in the position Keselowski was last season, best of the regulars, but he's had a much better start than Keselowski had either season; at this point in the season Kes was 5th, 177 points out of the lead last season and was 6th, 168 points out in 2008. Based on that Allgaier's still in a great position, technically 4th since Kyle isn't running all the races and 3rd if Harvick doesn't. Keselowski takes over the point lead for the first time in his career. Big credit to Penske for being so competitive, I didn't think they'd be this good. And Colin Braun gets into ANOTHER wreck not of his own doing. Shit, when is this going to end for him? Gotta give credit for Stenhouse for getting a top ten. I hope they both get their act together for good or else Jack might do something stupid like alternate them in one car and run Ragan and Kenseth in the other. 23. Harvick gets his 3rd top 2 finish in the last 4 races while Keselowski finishes in the top five for a 5th straight race. Brendan Gaughan gets back-to-back top tens for the first time since the 2nd and 3rd races of last season. Biffle finishes in the top 10 for a 4th straight race (he didn't race at Nashville). Baker Curb Racing didn't have any top fives all of last season with Jason Keller but already have 2 in the first 6 races of 2010. Carl Edwards (Nationwide, 6 races) and Timothy Peters (Trucks, 4 races) are now the only drivers to have finished in the top 10 in every race in any of the top 3 series. In a ride that was put together just a WEEK before the first race of the season, Scott Lagasse made it two Baker Curb cars in the top 10 with a 9th and moves into the top 10 in the standings while the #43 is 11th in the owners standings. Ricky Stenhouse was the highest finishing rookie in 9th, just the 3rd top ten finish among the 4 ROTY contenders in 24 combined starts. But Brian Scott finished in the top 20 for the 4th time in 6 races. 2009 East Series champion Jason Bowles finished 25th in his 2nd career start and first race in the #09 RAB Racing car. 24. By "general mananger" and "co-owner", they really mean "the person who makes all the calls and tells her little brother when to breathe and he never argues cause he is weak". "Cup Series regular Jamie McMurray ....... has agreed to a deal that puts him in the No. 88 for nine races." I'm shocked yet another up and comer gets screwed so Cup guys can hog the spotlight while not getting their asses beaten in by JJ. ""We are extremely appreciative of Kelly Bires and wish him the best," Earnhardt said. "Internally, it was evident the chemistry that is imperative for us to succeed in this highly competitive industry was simply not there." Oh yeah! He is one to talk about about chemistry (or she, I don't know which Earnhardt they are referring to, but if it is her, she is the one who orchestrated the Dale Mears - Rick Hendrick Disaster). All he does is bitch on the radio (he isn't the only one, but still) and give no constructive feedback. What the hell do either of them know about chemistry? And after only 5 races? Brad K got off to a much worse start last year, reason #5489 why I say there is something to the Rick Hendrick - Brad Keselowski deal. "That is the fault of no one person." Just impatient owners who have directed all their efforts to get a bikini model who has no business in NASCAR up to speed in stock cars when she couldn't do much in Indy cars. "Under the direction of crew chief Tony Eury, the No. 88 team has finished third in the Nationwide Series point standings each of the past two seasons, accumulating six total victories." With Brad Keselowski driving, and that chemistry didn't happen overnight. "The alteration to the No. 88 team does not change plans for the No. 7 team" Of course not. We still plan to run in the Top 10 in races Scott Wimmer drives for us, get mid pack runs out of Landon Cassil, and get lapped within the first 20 laps of every race with the Go Daddy Girl.
