Cup driver Clint Bowyer got into Kevin Harvick while racing but cut down a tire and crashed into the Turn 3 wall because of it. Maybe it's that yellow rookie stripe-esque shade they paint the car? 5. I laughed my butt off when the #16 wrecked the #6. 14 races, 7 DNFs, 3 LLFs, 1 top 10 and these two clowns still have rides? They make John Wrecks Weekly look like Jimmie Johnson. Heartbreak to see The Carl lose a ton of points today with the broken axle. This was his first finish outside the top 10 since Michigan last August. 2nd race this year that Steve Wallace has been the highest finishing Nationwide regular. 6. It would be silly to get rid of a driver after SEVEN races. They're far from clowns. 8. He's only running a handful of cup races. So technically he shouldnt be lumped with Kyle and Menard and Edwards and all. It would be more fun to Steve Wallace, Allgier, Colin Braun, (sometimes Brad K and Logano) but this is really annoying, I dont care if they run 15-20 races, but like I said a full-time season? at least focus on your Cup Team! Sigh Kyle Boosch wins again, what an odd wkend in Nascar. 11. Bob posted: 04.20.2010 - 1:45 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kyle Busch dominates to win his 5th race in a row at Texas. Kevin Harvick gets into his cup teammate a little too early on and ruffles a few feathers. Plus this race was run on a Monday nite, 5pm. and it never ended til around 7:30 on a Monday nite, first time since ive been watching racing that this happened. Overall it was a good race with alot of excitement. 12. I'm very proud of #32 team - very impressive performance, gradually making their car better and improving positions after every restart they clinched second top-5 in three las events. Great job, Reed! Maybe it was blessing in disguise that Cup event finished so early for you. And yes, I'm very annoyed with number of buschwhackers that day. At least Bowyer, McMurray and Reutimann have nothing to do here, in Nationwide Series. 13. Reed will likely get a win or two this season with the way he's been running. Chad McCumbee made his Nationwide debut in this race as well. This is the second straight race that John Wrecks Weekly has missed. If they want him to improve, it's not going to happen with him sitting at home. 16. 12345Dude posted: 04.20.2010 - 4:15 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "I've said it before and I'll say it again Nascar needs to limit the Cup guys in the Nationwide!!!" Watch the g and n series, or the southern or northern modified series. They are great racing league. You can watch them on the speed channel. The have the schedules on this site. 17. Both Colin and Stenhouse have run well in Nationwide in their pre-2010 starts. Last year Colin won in the Trucks and finished 5th while leading the series in poles, and in 2008 in Nationwide he won the pole at ORP where he finished 2nd, and had a pole at Mexico. Colin came from a road racing background so just wait until the series hits the road courses, he'll have a shot at winning all of them. Stenhouse was a brain fart and a deserved payback short of winning the ARCA championship in 2008, and then had a pole at Iowa and a top five at Milwaukee in Nationwide last year. I don't know what Stenhouse's problem is this year and I don't know what Braun did in a past life, but they're both far more talented and proven drivers than Townley'll ever be. 18. So hey, do you think he'll make the Chase this year? 22. 18fan posted: 04.21.2010 - 2:05 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I think Kyle will make the chase this year because he has been very competitive with the spoiler and is a late race caution at Martinsville and Phoenix each away from having a win, a second, and a third in the three races with the spoiler. 23. DaleSrFanForever posted: 04.21.2010 - 2:11 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Now there is controversy over whether or not Kyle should go after the NWide title again this year. What I think may surprise you: First of all, I can't stand Kyle, so this definitely is not an opinion made with my heart. But I think he should go for it for one reason: He will NOT win the Cup title this year. Nobody is beating the #48 over there. They already have a 307 point lead on 13th place and have already begun R&D work in races getting prepped for those final 10 races. They have already won 3 times and had a full blown experimental setup in his car at Martinsville IN THE SIXTH RACE OF THE SEASON!!!! The cha$e will not be competitive this year. I predict JJ will have alrady clinched the title after the Phoenix race ends. So Kyle, who needs to win to keep himself from mentally tanking, should probably go ahead and go for it, even though it means nothing. Heh! This really has become the Jimmie Johnson Mental Rehabilitation Tour! 24. 12345Dude posted: 04.21.2010 - 6:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I honestly don't think thses gusy rac ethe nationwide series to "win something". I honestly think they, love racing that much. They will race anything. That doesn't mean I support it though. You who I feel bad for. Jasaon Leffler, Jason Keller, and Brendan Gaughan. These are drivers trying to make it in the nationwide series. These drivers have no plan to race in the sprint cup series again. These drivers [especially Leffler] should be winning 2-3 races a year and fighting for a championship. But they can't. That's why I can understand why these guys won't go over to the truck series. It worked for Sauter and Armorila. I think the truck series is like the old busch series. Cup guys win 40 percent of the races. But the non cup guys can win and compete for a championship. I found it funny when Kyle was talking about Sam Ard. How he was a legend of the busch series. I wonder if he realizes that if he keeps doing what he is doing. ther ewon't be any busch series legends left. He is killing them all off. Another thing I am surprissed about, is that non eof the drivers are complaning about the sprint cup jv series. I mean, I remember reading Bobby Hamilton Junior complain about it, but that was after he was done racing. I don't know maybe we are the only ones that are upset about it. Maybe the drivers don't mind. I really thought after this year, all this sprint cup drivers running the full series would stop. Man, was I wrong. I wish Bill Fran$e or somebody in nascar would say "enough is enough". But I guess they like how the sprint cup jv series is run. 25. 12345Dude posted: 04.21.2010 - 6:56 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Eh I need a new space bar :] 26. DaleSrFanForever posted: 04.21.2010 - 7:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "But I guess they like how the sprint cup jv series is run." They like the way the Jimmie Johnson Mental Rehabilitation Tour (JJMRT) is run because the Cup guys bring in $$$, but it is a short sighted way of thinking. We are seeing its adverse effects in the Cup Series this year with a rookie battle between Kevin Conway and Terry Cook in cars that can't ever stay within 3 laps of the leaders. Last year Joey Logano was basically unopposed, needing only to beat Scott Slow. There is very little new blood being brought in over there because they aren't being developed in the JJMRT. That is a far cry from the past. From 1999 through 2003 we saw Tony Stewart (2 time champ), Matt Kenseth (champ), Dale Jr (multiple wins in a short time before legally changing his last name to Mears), Kevin Harvick (occasional contender), Kurt Busch (champ, 20+ race winner), Jimmie Johnson (4 time and counting champ), Newman (had an 8 win season), Greg Biffle (multiple wins), and Jamie Mac (a few wins) brought in as rookies. In 2005 and 2006 alone we saw Kyle Busch (many wins), Denny Hamlin (many wins, the guy who will finish 2nd to JJ in points this year, 250 back), Martin Truex (1 win, 1 cha$e appearance for a badly declining organization), Clint Bowyer (2 wins, 2 cha$es driving for Really Conservative Racing) brought in. But since 2007, the only 3 drivers worth a damn brought in are JPM (1 fuel mileage win, a ton of chokes, 1 cha$e), Logano (1 fluke win, a few scattered good runs despite driving for a 2 time championship team, slowly improving), and Keselowski (1 win in a rented car for an S&P team, some good runs in a partial schedule, only recently got a full time deal). And it is because nobody is being developed. When they do take a chance on a youngster, if he has 2 or 3 bad runs they kick him out for a Cup driver (Bires). This is a problem that needs to be addressed. 27. Bronco posted: 04.21.2010 - 11:29 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "Dale Jr (multiple wins in a short time before legally changing his last name to Mears)" 7th in points with a decent cushion on 12th, 4th and 5th best in terms of average start and finish, most consistent driver on his team, and yet you think he's in the same category as someone who isn't even racing in Cup anymore. "But since 2007, the only 3 drivers worth a damn" Uh, what about Reutimann and Ambrose? They all turned out to be pretty decent Cup drivers. Menard, Dinger, and Speed have gotten better so you can throw them there also. "When they do take a chance on a youngster, if he has 2 or 3 bad runs they kick him out for a Cup driver (Bires)." With Bires, I think there's a lot more to the story than meets the eye. I'm guessing it was a combination of words being exchanged an sponsor demands that led to his dismissal. Bires has a lot of talent, maybe he will score some one race deals in the #09 and #10. I just hope he doesn't have to return to S&Ps. 28. Kit posted: 04.21.2010 - 11:33 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) It probably will never be addressed. Unlike the NFL, NASCAR really doesn't rely on talent anymore. Sponsors have their hands deep in everything now that all they care about is media exposure. Hence why Michael Waltrip still had sponsorship and why cameras paid attention to Danica Patrick crossing the finish line at like 33rd place. I don't even think Jimmie Johnson is that talented compared to other drivers with 30+ wins. 29. For some reason I never think of those two. I think good things are in their future, but they about as much airtime during telecasts as Shane Hmiel. Their owner needs to quit putting his drunk ass mug on every TV show and get some of that publicity to his drivers. "7th in points with a decent cushion on 12th, 4th and 5th best in terms of average start and finish, most consistent driver on his team, and yet you think he's in the same category as someone who isn't even racing in Cup anymore." Counter point: Dale and his adopted cousin Casey have the same number of Cup wins since May 2006 ended. If he doesn't win by Michigan, he will have a SECOND 2 year winless streak. That is a Harvick-esque amount of losing. 30. Better yet, Jeff Montoya since he has choked away a couple of wins. Seriously, your stupidity isn't just funny anymore, it's downright annoying. "If he doesn't win by Michigan, he will have a SECOND 2 year winless streak. That is a Harvick-esque amount of losing." Newman had two 2 year winless streaks before Phoenix. Roger Mears, Casey's dad, had all of his racing success in off-road racing, winning the Baja 1000 4 times and the Pikes Peak Auto Hill Climb 5 times along with 2 SCORE championships. Casey's brother Roger Jr. has 2 wins in the Baja 1000. So calling Dale Jr. Mears means you're also demeaning the rest of the Mears Gang. BTW Casey's the only Mears to win in NASCAR. 32. His fire and focus have long since gone by the wayside except when Kenseth is around him. But there is a difference between 44 races and 144 races. Although I must say, Jeff Montoya is kinda catchy.
