Too bad that lapper took Hornaday out or Kyle might of seen how good he can be on a restart. 2. mrittenhouse84 posted: 07.24.2010 - 11:00 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) The Kyle Busch support series, This is a joke of a series! Roidwards and Brad K raced each other clean for once, hopefully it stays that wau for the rest of the season. 7. All I know is Nascar wants a Nationwide champion that is not a cup regular even if it means creating a chase that only has drivers that are not cup regulars. Carl Edwards statements earlier this work showed what is wrong with the Nationwide series. Carl considers himself a Nationwide driver that has a cup sponsorship and acts like he is a 2nd tier driver according to an espn article matter of fact. Carl Edwards matter of fact wants to win another Nationwide series title in 2011 if possible. Good run out runs out of Aric Almirola,Trevor Bayne, Reed Sorenson, Brendon Gaughan, and Justin Allgaier. 8. I am a huge fan of him but he is still an ass in most of his interview. He feels he has to take a shot at someone during his interviews. 10. RCRandPenskeGuy posted: 07.24.2010 - 11:54 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kyle usually makes an ass of himself anyways, so it's not too surprising to me if he came off that way in his interview. I watched the entire race, but went to doing something else right when Kyle took the checkers, so I missed post-race interviews. If he keeps this up though, he'll surpass the double-digit barrier in wins this season. 11. The fun of this series is to watch young up and comers, and the guys who no longer have a ride in Cup compete for wins. If Cup Regulars stayed out of the series, this years winners would be: Daytona - Justin Allgaier Fontana - Steve Wallace Las Vegas - Trevor Bayne Bristol - Justin Allgaier (actually won) Nashville - Reed Sorenson Phoenix - Brendan Gaughan Texas - Reed Sorenson Talladega - Jason Keller Richmond - Reed Sorenson Darlington - Jason Leffler Dover - Reed Sorenson Charlotte - Justin Allgaier Nashville - Justin Allgaier Kentucky - Brendan Gaughan Road America - Ron Fellows Loudon - Trevor Bayne Daytona - Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. Gateway - Reed Sorenson ORP - Aric Almirola 12. 18fan posted: 07.25.2010 - 12:08 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) RCRandPenskeGuy, The part of the post race interview was they asked how important the restart to get away from Carl was and he briefly touched on that before saying something along the lines of, "You guys call Ron Hornaday the king of restarts, but I smoked him tonight so you should take that distinction away." 13. Winstonforever posted: 07.25.2010 - 12:35 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) So Kyle Busch got his 38 Nationwide win. it took him 189 starts to get his 38 Nationwide win. It took Mark Martin 181 Busch Series Starts to get his 38 win. I got a feeling that kyle busch will pass mark martin in the wins in nationwide 14. RCRDude posted: 07.25.2010 - 1:39 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I have an idea for next year's nationwide - Cup drivers are limited to 15 starts - all starts must be at the SAME track as the Cup series (no cup drivers at stand alone) - all cup drivers are required to start at the back of the field - all cup drivers are given a restrictor plate that cuts their power by 50 HP let me know what you guys think 15. 18fan posted: 07.25.2010 - 2:06 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) RCRDude, I think they should all have to own their own cars and not in name only, like Carl Edwards getting a Roush car and entering it under the ownership of Carl Edwards(unless that's the way Earnhardt and DW used to it, get cars from their Cup owners and put it under their ownership name.) 16. 18justwins posted: 07.25.2010 - 2:19 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Anyone complaining about Busch taking a "shot" at Hornaday in his postrace interview obviously didn't watch the truck race the night before. Even though Hornaday won, he complained about a move Busch made on him during the race, where they made slight contact. It's short track racing, some rubbing is expected, but he went out of his way to mention it like he always does, except usually he's still getting beat by Busch in the end. So if you're going to whine about Busch, then you better be whining about Hornaday too. And by the way, Busch was right. 17. Best unofficial finish for Aric Almirola, who picked up his first top 5 since October 2007 at Charlotte. Putting him in the car instead of Sadler was definitely the right decision. Second straight pole for Bayne at IRP, second straight of the season, and second straight top 5 for the #99 team. 19. 18fan posted: 07.25.2010 - 4:10 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sadler should be in a decent full time truck ride, not a Cup ride or a partial Nationwide schedule as a Cup driver. 20. He has three top 25 finishes in a row driving the #21. He only had three top 25 finishes in his first 13 starts with his own car mostly due to start and parking. Nationwide Series debut for Derrick Griffin. 34. It's his 3rd Nationwide win at ORP, tying Morgan Shepherd for most at the track. But Kyle's now the all time leader in laps led at ORP with 417. Carl Edwards gets his 5th top 2 finish in the last 8 races. In that time he's cut his deficit on Keselowski from 257 to 205 (although it'd be 145 without the penalty, BUT it would be at least 190 without Carl putting Keselowsk in the wall and nearly wrecking half the field). 35. Talon64 posted: 07.26.2010 - 5:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Whoops, I submitted without finishing it. Well here's the rest of it. Aric Almirola gets just his 3rd top five in 32 Nationwide starts, but it's his best career Nationwide finish when he's actually crossed the finish line himself. It also ties JR Motorsports' best oval finish of the season. Trevor Bayne won his 3rd career Nationwide pole, 2nd straight on the season and 2nd straight at ORP. He got his 2nd straight top five and 3rd in his last 5 races. Reed Sorenson gets his 3rd straight top ten, and 3rd straight top five at ORP. Reed moves up to 11th in the standings, just 49 points behind teammate Jason Leffler despite having 5 less starts. Brendan Gaughan and Justin Allgaier get their first top tens at ORP. Brad Keselowski gets his first top ten in the last 3 races, and 3rd top ten in 4 starts at ORP. Paul Menard made his 150th Nationwide start, getting his 10th top ten of the year and 51st of his career. It's his 4th top ten and 3rd 9th place finish in 5 starts at ORP. Steve Wallace gets his best starting spot in Nationwide since winning the pole at Nashville in 2007. His 9th top ten on the season ties his career high set last season. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Colin Braun get their 5th and 7th straight top 20 finishes respectively. Ricky was the highest finishing rookie in 11th, and is now 23 points behind Brian Scott for the ROTY points lead. Shelby Howard gets his 3rd straight top 20 finish. Michael McDowell gets just his 6th top 20 finish of the season. 36. Talon64 posted: 07.27.2010 - 6:11 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Oh shit, everyone hide the kids!
