They must have taken the page out of the IRL's book that says "count each head as three". 3. To be running 14th is a huge improvement over her run at Fontana in the spring. Martin Truex was running 3rd or 4th with 5 to go when he cut a tire leading to a bad finish. 5. Great run for Mike Bliss in an unsponsored car. Luckily it was right after a restart when Borneman spun down pit road. If it had been during green-flag pit stops, it could have been really ugly. 8. Kevin needs to something to his pit crew after the season since his cost lost him spots in several races this years. His pit crew cost him 5 spots twice including a pit stop over 17 seconds. I don't care who the driver is, outside of plate racing, it very hard to pass 5 cars around 18 laps to do. Danica was having her best run before she got hit from behind with her being in 14 place at the time of the wreck. 12. Although I was pulling for Allgaier to get up there and trade some paint with the leaders too, as he looked good towards the end. I can understand why a Cup driver will be behind the wheel in that instance. They want to get the best notes and feedback possible for Ryan next year, and who better to race the car than his older brother, a former Nationwide champion? And yes, SOMEBODY needs to put Justin Allgaier in their car next year. If he does not end up with a good ride, that is the glaring problem with this series. Maybe if Justin was about to win a championship like his teammate is about to, things would be a little different. It may not be Brad's choice either, it could be sponsors' choice. You are right. Sponsors basically want Cup drivers at a cheaper price, and sponsoring them in NW is the way to do that. It's why Kelly Bires was fired from JR Motorsports earlier in the season. 37. I watch all the races and from I can tell, the only guys that I think have the talent to make it in Cup are Justin Allgaier and Trevor Bayne. And I GUARANTEE that they will make it to Cup in some form. Seriously, you think the ladder up to Cup is broken because of the Cup guys in Nationwide? No, if you're good, you'll get noticed, and you'll get your shot. If this series is supposed to be only a developmental series, then you better start complaining about Kenny Wallace, Morgan Shepard, Jason Leffler, Mike Bliss, Mike Wallace, Tony Raines, Joe Nemechek, Mark Green, Jason Keller, Derrick Cope, David Gilliland, Johnny Chapman, Dennis Setzer, Jeff Green, Hermie Sadler, Kevin Lepage, Carl Long, and all the others who don't need any more time "developing" or have already wasted their chances in Cup. Those are all rides that developmental drivers could be driving, right? And let's say Busch, Edwards, and Keselowski stopped running Nationwide series altogether, and new drivers moved into their old rides. You just assume that Gibbs, Roush, and Penske could find cars for these new drivers in Cup? Roush is already packed, Gibbs/Penske could each expand one ride, but who guarantees that they could find sponsorship for it? And what happens to the guys after the guys that replace Busch and Keselowski, once Gibbs and Penske are packed? Where do they go? Where are all these empty Cup rides in desperate need of some new talent, that everyone assumes should be filled by a Nationwide driver?" I pulled this from the race thread from a few weeks ago (credit goes to Junebug), because I don't think many people read it, and I think it makes a good point. There are more problems with getting new drivers into Cup than just Busch, Edwards, and Keselowski running these races. I blame the sponsors more than anything, and since racing is a business, if the only way you can run a team and make money is by putting a Cup guy in there, then that's what you have to do. Blame NASCAR for making it too expensive to run a team, blame the sponsors for not being willing to take a chance on a young driver, or blame the economy for forcing sponsors into "guaranteed success" type deals. Don't blame Edwards, Keselowski, and Busch because they like to race. They aren't breaking any rules, and I'm sure if Gibbs or Roush wanted to groom a new driver for Cup they'd put a stop to those guys running the car every week. Both those teams just don't need any new drivers at the moment (unless Roush wants to finally give up on Ragan). I doubt Carl Edwards is forcing Jack Roush to keep him in the car. I know a lot of people on this site like to think that's the case, that Edwards, Busch, and Keselowski are these immature brats that force themselves into this series to accumulate wins to feel good about themselves, but I think that's pretty damn overly-simplistic and ignores everything else happening in the sport to create these conditions in the first place. 39. Thats bull. I don't know where you read that but probably is some idiot writer that is posting garbage as usual. Why would Bayne quit on the crew that put so much sweat into helping him get inside the top ten in points? MWR probably told Bayne to say that or there would be legal issues. The reason why I feel this way is that I have Bayne on a social network so when he got canned I saw his comments and I also have MWR as I have not yet ended the MWR connection. 40. When you QUOTE someone, it's their quote regardless of the writer. MWR couldn't guarantee a full time schedule for Bayne in 2011. They were actively seeking sponsorship so he could run full time. Bayne started looking around because he wanted a guaranteed full 2011 schedule, and Roush was willing to provide. It's not bull, it came right out of Bayne's mouth. Trevor Bayne's facebook never said anything that went against this. There would be zero legal issues with Bayne saying he got canned so that is a total load of crap. Atleast Turner let Brian Scott know before the Dover race that way he'd be able to be on the lookout in advance. Now, lets turn the page and move on. Next subject I want to say something about is Marty Reid, the ESPN play by play guy. Fans bitched about Dr. Jerry Punch being too boring but now look what we get. Jack has committed to Ragan in Cup through 2011, and although they are improving, Stenhouse and Braun still appear to be a long ways off. This will give Trevor a full year in the new Nwide cars which are more similar to the Cup cars, then he can start his rookie season in 2012 in the famous #6 car. 43. Honestly man, you can't possibly be this dense. Trevor was thinking of his FUTURE and next year's plans when he decided to leave MWR and switch to Roush. What is so hard to understand? Do you think his priority is to race full time next year, or to finish 7th in points instead of 8th or 9th and then possibly be stuck with part time next year? As a racer, what's his better option? He's not even in the running for top 5 in points. TREVOR HIMSELF said that he left because he wasn't guaranteed to run the full 2011 schedule, and that was his goal, so he went to a team that is guaranteeing a more solid future. What is so unbelievably hard to understand? Like I said, hate MWR all you want, but don't be surprised when someone corrects falsities that you throw out there. The hatred goes deeper for MWR as Jet Fuel Gate, Shock Gate, when he slugged Lake Speed in 1995 on pitroad after a race and earlier this year they supplied illegal stuff in the cars that they build for others plus Michael's other issues such as leaving TWO accidents that he has been in and if I remember correctly, he has been supposedly drunk when the accidents have happened so Michael is not a guy that is really a good person. If I get an answer, I will apologize completely to you for me misunderstanding the situation. 53. Roush is guaranteeing full time in 2011, and honestly it may lead to Cup races quicker than it would have for MWR. I appreciate & accept your apology.. don't worry about it at all. I apologize for my harsh words as well. There's no reason or excuse for why I couldn't post in a more civilized way, and I appreciate your recent response. I always regret when I lose my cool and get all ridiculous as I did here. 54. Dodge posted: 10.12.2010 - 10:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Thank you. I am glad we can put it to a rest. I heard that Trevor may run the Texas cup race in either the 21 or a 5th Roush car (06 maybe)? It don't take much go get me mad, never has and that will not change but I try to be a nice person, sometimes I may go a little too far in my posts and sound just flat out mean. 55. God that would be great 57. RCRandPenskeGuy posted: 10.14.2010 - 11:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) ^ LOL, that episode was hilarious. While some might find it insulting to NASCAR fans, I can take a joke on my favorite sport. 58. "**** you, Danica Patrick!" And the press conference, and when Cartman's plowing through the fans in the infield. And yet the #48 still wins. LOLOLOLOLOL 59.
