Martin Truex gets a solid finish in the car his younger brother will run next year. The Truex brothers are also drivers that I like, and Ryan has a good future if used properly. Justin Allgaier finished 3rd and he won the "Nationwide regular" race that some users like to post on this site. C'mon, somebody sign him up for next year! Oh, and Danica ties her best career Nationwide finish (21st). 4. Watto posted: 10.16.2010 - 12:01 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) "Oh, and Danica ties her best career Nationwide finish (21st)." What happened to get them so far off? Nice runs for Sorenson, Almirola, Newman (in Phoenix Racing's last start of the season), Reutimann, Buescher, Wise, Braun, Raines, and Patrick. Hermie was doing good too, in 23rd 1 lap down. What happened to him? 8. Cooper posted: 10.16.2010 - 8:26 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Very cool win for Brad. I thought there was no way he could hold on with the 10 lap worner tires. But he and the team obviously made some outstanding adjustments and Brad was just too strong on that top side. Great for brad and that team, as the championship is in the bag. They are now just 118 points behind the #18 team and that will be great to watch down the stretch as that #22 team will not want to share the final table at the banquet. Paul Wolfe has turned into an amazing crew chief. 9. What was up with that competition caution, anyway? NOL says "Lap 154 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 6: NASCAR determines it incorrectly called Brian Scott back onto pit road for a missing lug nut, so it throws the caution in order to give the rookie his spot back." WOW... NASCAR correcting a mistake? doesn't happen very often! 10. This was the first race at Charlotte in NWide or Cup that I would classify as "exciting" since the 2003 Fall Winston Cup race. And, once again, I would like to mention that the Challengers and Mustangs look spectacular. Kudos to Penske Racing for figuring this new car out so fast. And I want to give a big shout out to Paul Wolfe. The #22 car was way off in the beginning, and even through the halfway point, but Paul got it dialed in. I also like the way he calls races. He's made a few mistakes strategy wise this year, but I think he is a future star Cup crew chief. Hopefully they team him with Brad in the Deuce next year. He really knows what Brad likes as a driver and how to get the car there. And Brad pretty much spent his entire victory lane interview praising the hell out of Paul. Hint hint. Still hate seeing Cup guys dominate for the most part, hopefully next year will be different. Hopefully Cup guys will at least be excluded from getting points and we can have a true NWide champ for the first time since '05. Oh, and one other thing: Nice to see the cars not disappear into the big freaking sinkhole at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Bruton's ultra modern masterpiece. Have I mentioned CMS had a big freaking sinkhole in it yet? I'm not sure if I've said anything about that yet. 11. I think Penske should "sell" the #12 points to the #26 so Kligermann can run full-time next year for the Keselowski's 12. Solid run for Aric Almirola in a race that Jamie Mac was supposed to drive. Here's hoping that Aric kicks ass next year. 13. He appears to be the real deal and if given the opportunity I believe he will succeed unlike Hornish. Nothing against Hornish but maybe he isn't NASCAR caliber, just Indycar caliber. 14. Kligermann does have more Connecticut talent, and, along with Logano, two home-state Sprint Cup drivers could dominate and take over Johnson's throne. =P to you rednecks! 18. That's called being a rookie. If he is still making bad mistakes 5 years in to his career (and I think you all know what I'm getting at here), then he officially sucks. Actually we can say that 2 years from now, but I wanted to make a point. 22. Brad's 450 point lead means he could clinch the championship with 2 races remaining, and if he has a 483 point lead after Gateway he would only need to start the last 3 races to clinch the championship. His 22nd top five of the year ties his career high from last season. His 5.5 average finish would be 2nd best among the last 5 Nationwide champions (all Cup drivers), and 3rd best all time. Martin Truex Jr. made his 100th career Nationwide start, but only his 16th in the last 5 seasons since his back-to-back championships. Truex got his 39th career top five and 60th career top ten with his 2nd place finish. Justin Allgaier picks up his 10th top five and 30th top ten in 70 career Nationwide starts. 3rd is his best finish since he won Bristol 28 races ago. Joey Logano gets his 21st top ten in 22 Nationwide starts this season. Clint Bowyer won his 8th career Nationwide pole and got his first top five in 12 starts this season. Kyle Busch led a race-high 84 laps but settled for his 23rd top ten in 26 starts this season. Kyle and Joey's average points scored per race is enough that if they'd run the full season, Kyle would be leading the standings by 280 points over Joey Logano, while Keselowski would be 338 points back. Aric Almirola gets his 3rd top ten in 4 starts this season in the #88 JRM car. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was the highest finishing ROTY contender in 14th. His ROTY point lead over Brian Scott is up to 6 points. 23. ch posted: 07.22.2013 - 3:41 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #92 / #96 Owner: Bob Keselowski (Teammate to the #26) 24.
