1 week after the #88 Jr Motorsports team reached a 1 year winless
drought, this marks 1 year since the #33 Kevin Harvick Inc. team last
won a race.

Phoenix Racing (#1) makes it's first non-plate start of the season, and
with a cool new matte black paint scheme too.

Ryan Truex is also proving those 2 K&N East titles were no fluke either.
He's not schedule to run at Charlotte for the final Dash 4 Cash race,
but we'll see, he sounded pretty excited for it after the race.

The shy one, Kenny Wallace scores his first top-5 finish since Memphis
in 2008.

As for the NW Title picture, Stenhouse has the speed and Sadler has the
durability. The schedule favors Stenhouse with more high-speed
speedways, but the big question is: Can Stenhouse be an effective points
racer when it is not his style?

I had to work during this one, but it looks like I missed a good race
judging from what I saw on NASCAR.com.

Yes, Almirola got into the back of Brian Scott and wrecked him, but it
was a racing deal. I can see how Scott would be upset at that point
though, he hadn't had time to sit anywhere and cool down.

Harvick dumps Leffler and Trevor Bayne. Glad to see him finish badly
after he did so.

Good runs for Ryan Truex, Kenny Wallace and Joe Nemechek.

Given that several other drivers have paid the price for Brad's
wreckless driving over the years, I think Danica can be excused for her
mistake. See Kenseth, New Hampshire 2010, Reutimann, Martinsville 2010,
Menard, Martinsville 2011.

Aric Almirola has finished outside the top 10 only once after Kentucky,
that was at Montreal. He's coming on strong in the second half of the
year, but I don't think he's going to win this year. I do think he'll
take 3rd in the standings away from Sorenson.

Already the 4th time this season where Carl leads the most laps but
doesn't win.

Danica didn't do nothing wrong. She had the faster car and was working
on Brad for about 4 laps. But Brad, being the hard racer he is never
gave up the spot and eventually paid the price. That's the price you pay
for racing hard, sometimes you get the raw end of the deal.

But Danica is innocent of any wrong doing, just guilty of bad driving.

Now I understand why people don't want their favourite drivers racing in
the lower series... Kevin Harvick is looking like a huge tool. With
Trevor being a little ticked off, Harvick is probably vulnerable to
being retaliated against by T-Bayne in the Cup Series.

Also, Brad K needs to wake up and smell the coffee. He doesn't have a
chance of winning the Championship if he wastes time trying to beat the
likes of Danica Patrick/Brian Scott and all the Nationwide junkers. The
Nationwide program isn't making him or the organization any stronger.

Brad, I know you want to support Discount Tire, but seriously if you win
the Sprint Cup you could probably buy Discount Tire!

Highly doubt it, given that he only has 2 or 3 more starts left this

For some one who likes to rip on Shrub every other month Harvick sure
did cause some carnage tonight.First he gets into Leffler than Trevor
Bayne gets the raw end of the deal when Leffler break checked Happy and
we all know what happened after that.Maybe Kyle lapping him and going on
to win(and KHI being merged into RCR) was karmic justice.

The Roush cars all looked good tonight(and I'm not just talking about
their paint schemes)but in the end none of them had anything for the
#18.Ricky Stenhouse though is still my favorite to win the championship
though Sadler and Sorenson aren't out of it by any means.


How about Ryan Truex coming from shotgun on the field to 4th, and atta
boy Kenny Wallace finishing in 5th and Joe Nemechek getting 10th.

That was a rookie mistake on Danica's part(plus Brad's night was already
going south),nothing intentional but an error that just about every
driver has made at one time or another(and no it isn't reckless driving)

Kyle would rocket for about 5 laps on every restart then Carl would run
him down, battle for a couple laps, then get away, but each run toward
the end Kyle would stay closer and closer and the difference between the
cars was not great enough at the end for Carl to make up for his poor
last stop and pass Kyle. The biggest problem Carl had was Stenhouse was
as fast as him for about half of the last run.

I was extremely impressed with Ryan Truex and his run from shotgun to
4th and Kenny Wallace ran top 5 all night and got his first top 5 of the
year. KHI and Turner seem to fallen behind JGR and, especially and more
importantly for the championship, Roush.

Really? She overdrove turn 3 entry by a mile, it was never gonna stick,
she knew it when it was too late, and locked the tires before getting
into Brad. That is specifically Danica doing something wrong. With that
being said, it's a mistake... Brad wasn't that angry over it. She's
learning. Not a big deal. But Danica absolutely DID do something wrong,
and if she doesn't learn from it, then she'll make the same mistake
repeatedly.

Are you sure about that? Seat time is invaluable, even if the car is
slightly different. You can transfer a lot of setup information from
Nationwide over to Cup. In fact, when they started hitting on some
things earlier in the year on the Cup side, a lot of it was coming from
thoughts from the Nationwide side. You can gain a LOT from running the
Nationwide Series. Just ask Paul Menard how much it helped him last
season when he ran the full schedule.

Bronco - the Reutimann incident at Martinsville was not Brad's fault. He
was there and got ran into the grass. The other two listed, however, are
his fault in my opinion.

If you wanna talk about specific instances, you need to realize that any
given driver in the field has taken people out in wrecks. I can pull out
examples of anyone who has gotten wrecked, actually being the instigator
in another wreck. If you consider Brad's driving to be reckless, then
the entire roster in all 3 series are completely filled with reckless
drivers. Of course, you are probably unwilling to admit this, given your
anti-Keselowski posts for as long as I've been reading comments on this
website. You need to stop looking at certain drivers differently than
others and actually take them for what they are.

Danica just locked her brakes up. It's funny though, people who don't
know jack about IndyCar used to say she just rides around making laps,
and now she's getting dogged for her aggression.

Depending on how she did tonight, I was ready to make the bold
prediction that Danica would be a title contender next year. Tonight
showed that she still has a long way to go on the flatter tracks
however, which ironically are her strength in IndyCar.

Jeremy Clements and Timmy Hill have it going on right now. Did I phrase
that right?

-dissed his crew
-pushed around drivers that he feels are beneath him

Way to go Kevin, this is the most Harvick-y race you've run in a long while.

And while we're at it, I just want to bring up the remarks Harvick made
about Busch's Truck team earlier this year. This might not be exact, but
he said Busch was too dumb to run his Truck team and ran it into
bankruptcy, or something to that effect. But looky now, Harvick is
giving up on his own team, and probably putting dozens of people out of
work in the process. Busch is struggling to keep his team going, but
he's not giving up like Harvick. So the question is, does Harvick ever
say or do anything that doesn't later come back to make him look like a
fool?

The answer is, of course, no.

I too have been very impressed by Timmy Hill this year. I hope he gets
noticed and gets better equipment than Rick Ware's next season (not to
knock that team, given their resources they're proving as impressive as

Hey y'all, give Bronco a break. He's had to wait months to get his digs
in at Brad. Danica made a big mistake, but that is what the NWide Series
is supposed to be about. Development and learning. So I have no issue.
That is what Cup drivers get for running these races. So the move itself
doesn't bother me. Of course in an ideal world they wouldn't be learning
while backed by a sponsor throwing big bucks at her to run a partial Cup
schedule next year whether she is ready for it or not (she isn't). And
yes, the "she's learning" crap has been old for a while. She's not
ready, and her Cup races will be a disaster.

Harvick shows why he hasn't come close to realizing his potential. He
can't deal with adversity. He gets frustrated and takes it out on
everyone around him. He did exactly the things his buddy Kyle Busch has
done. First he cuts across Bayne's nose, puts himself in the wall, then
gets mad at the guy for not rolling over for him. He also did the same
thing that Kyle did to piss him off, he pulled the dirtiest move in
racing. At the same track on the same straightaway where Earnhardt did
it in 1986. It was wrong then, and it is wrong now. And you are right,
Bayne needs to retaliate in a cha$e race to really drive the point home.
Otherwise he will be a doormat.

The only thing about if Bayne retaliates against Harvick during the
Chase, NASCAR will probably park him AND suspend him for the next event.
I normally don't bash NASCAR but IMO, they should of PARKED Harvick when
he dumped Leffler. I believe that if you are a Cup driver, you should
not be allowed to wreck a Nationwide Series regular intentionally. Thats
how I view the Harvick situation. Maybe it wasn't but that is how it
looked. He was upset because Leffler passed him with a little rubbing
which in Harvick's mind, meant that he could wreck him.

Left Turn Leffler is a bigger tool then Harvick is. And Mr. Left Turn

I honestly don't remember that, but if Brad made the same exact mistake
as Danica did, what would be hypocritical is if you said that Brad did
nothing wrong yet Danica did. Everyone's favorite driver makes mistakes,
what's hypocritical is when their fans can't admit it. It's not
hypocritical at all to say someone was the cause of a wreck if you would
say the same for your own driver. Brad Keselowski's my favorite driver
as well.

Sucks for the people who are not going to get into RCR with the
transfer, but the truth is that Kevin didn't actually run his team into
the ground. KHI did nothing business-wise that called for his team's
deconstruction. What happened was that Richard Childress offered him a
lot of money to overtake much of it. The reason why Richard did this
isn't specified, but I think the likely reason is so that he could
oversee the Dillon brothers more closely. I sympathize with the people
losing their jobs, in fact a friend of mine works for KHI and his future
is somewhat uncertain, but selling vs running your team into the ground
is different.

For what it's worth, I'm not a Harvick fan.

I admit, I may have been a little hard on Danica for that, and yes, I'm
sure every driver has done something like that at SOME POINT in their
life in a racing series (Jamie Mac, Biffle and Brad K, all favorites of
mine have made that mistake plenty of times). Let's just hope for her
sake that she learned something from that (such as, you can't be
divebombing to pass cars that are a car length ahead of you). Otherwise
she'll continue to make that mistake, and will look like a wrecking ball

I never said he ran it into the ground, I said he gave up on it. He
quit. He can say that the reason was to focus on his Cup effort, but the
truth is, he quit on his team. And in light of his smart ass remarks
about Busch's team, it doesn't make him look good.

He could have announced this months ago, so his crew and his drivers
would have more time to secure future employment, but instead he lays it
on them near the end of the season, after a lot of plans have been made
for next year.

It makes me sick to my stomach watching him win the Cup race tonight,
after that display he put on in the Nationwide race, and after he throws
a bunch of hard working people under the bus for his own selfish gain.

I don't understand the angst about Danica's mistake... She immediately
said she made a mistake so she recognizes it and let's be real every
driver out there has made the same mistake probably more than once.
Honestly, we have probably seen the same attempted move at least once in
every short track race.

Look at the Cup race...Kurt Busch did the same thing to Jimmie Johnson.
Shouldn't he know better than to make that type of mistake with all of
his 'experience'?

ahahaha wow, this is classic. You're couldn't have been ragging on
Keselowski more during his struggles, yet you seemed to disappear when
he proved you wrong and more so. Then you see your one chance to dump on
him and you take it.

Like Watto said, it's easy to point out every little incident a driver's
been in. Because THEY'VE ALL HAD THEM. And even you have to admit that
Keselowski's been moving past all that and racing both clean AND
successfully. Just like Carl's been this year too, have to give him credit.

Kyle Busch picks up his 51st career Nationwide win and 4th at Richmond.

Carl Edwards reaches the 20 top 10 plateau for the 7th consecutive
season (166 top 10's in span is 40 more than the next driver, Kevin
Harvick with 126). It's his 13th top 2 finish in 26 starts this year.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finishes 3rd for a 2nd straight race, the 2nd time
he's put together back-to-back podium finishes (3 in a row, races
20-22). His 12 top 5's continue to lead all NNS regulars and is tied for
the most top 10's with Elliott Sadler with 19.

Ryan Truex is the highest finishing rookie in the race in 4th, his best
career finish and 1st top 5 in 19 series starts. He's now 43 points back
of Timmy Hill with (at least) 4 more starts left on the season; If Truex
can be the highest finishing rookie in his starts to gain 40 points then
he'll need 7 bonus points (from top 10's) to take the ROTY lead (prior
to the season-ending panel who awards points based on who has the best
chicken dance or whatever).

Kenny Wallace gets his first top 5 in 100 races with the 65th of his
career (515 starts).

Elliott Sadler now has a season-high 6 straight top 10 finishes, but
which only includes 1 top 5.

Aric Almirola gets his 9th top 10 in the past 11 races.

Reed Sorenson gets his first top 10 in 5 races.

Justin Allgaier has 3 top 10's in the last 4 races, after just 3 in the
previous 9 following his Chicagoland win.

Joe Nemechek gets his 3rd top 10 of the season (had none in either of
the previous 2 seasons, 55 starts).

Brad Keselowski earned his 11th career pole and 3rd of the season.

Well, Bayne isn't likely to retaliate against Harvick. It's just not in
his personality. As for Bayne being a bit ticked off after the race. If
that is true, it would be more at his pit crew rather than Harvick,
because he let his crew have it, as much as he could. But let's not
forget that that incident between Bayne and Harvick was the second such
incident this year. I'm not sure anyone else here remembers this, but
late in the NW race at Loudon earlier this year, Harvick knocked Bayne
out of the way, which put Bayne in a position to be in the wreck when
Steve Wallace ran over Joey Logano.

But back to Bayne being upset with his pit crew. He had two bad pit
stops at Atlanta, the second of which put him in position to be in the
crash when Justin Allgaier got into Reed Sorenson. He had that bad pit
stop in this race while challenging for the lead in what was probably
the best car in the field. and let's not forget that his pit crew at
Iowa left a rear tire loose on effectively three consecutive pit stops.
Hopefully he'll get a trouble-free race with a good car before the end
of the year, and his seemingly imminent release from Roush's team due to
lack of sponsorship. After all, why else would Ford and Roush be moving
to remove Bayne from the Wood Brothers car and replace him with Ricky
Stenhouse, Jr., thus leaving the 2012 Daytona 500 without it's defending
champion.
