Unfortunately for Brian Scott, there were a number of drivers in the top lane who managed to get through without destroying their cars or competitors'. Brian makes a habit out of ruining his own races, but hey, his last name isn't Wallace so he isn't the butt of all jokes. It did bring about good news for Danica fans though, as Danica shockingly beat Cole Whitt thanks to Brian Scott taking him out. H2H: Cole Whitt - 9 Danica Patrick - 2 Feel free to note that Mike Bliss is 27 points ahead of Danica with a mediocre team at best. Looks like Danica will have a great points battle with Joe Nemechek, who is down on hp and has maybe 3 employees, but hey, she's doing great! 23. He races so unbelievably stupid sometimes, and he shoots himself in the foot in doing so. When Keselowski got a bad rap for racing people too hard, his driving was way smarter than Allgaier's remains with a few years of experience. Blocking teammates, chopping people, unable to hold a line, 31 was a mess in the closing stages of this one. 24. hyperacti posted: 05.27.2012 - 12:45 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Joey Coulter put down a fantastic run considering his usual results in the Truck series. History of course sponsored this race for the second year in a row, this time for their channel in general compared to just its American version of the car show 'Top Gear' last year. History ran a promotion leading up to this race to win tickets to it and a vintage Coke cooler restored by the crew of their show 'American Restoration.' 26. Daniel posted: 05.27.2012 - 12:54 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) #15, I'm not seeing it. The Nationwide field has absolutely no depth. There are only 20 drivers that have attempted every race this year, and those include Jeff Green who has only avoided S&P due to McClure's injury and Chase Miller who S&P's ever race. You have about 7-8 cars that S&P every week, and half the rest of the field with nothing on their cars. With the money behind her, she shouldn't be in a tight points battle with Mike Bliss and Joe Nemechek. I was a little surprised by her Q run today, but then she went plummeting through the field pretty much as soon as the green flag dropped. There are only a few real strong teams in this series, Penske, RCR, Turner, JR Motorsports, Roush-Fenway, and Gibbs (maybe you can put RPM in that list) and she consistently runs the worst out of all those teams. Even Brian Scott usually outruns her.....until he wrecks himself out. 27. RaceFanX posted: 05.27.2012 - 1:31 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Following this race a bunch of barriers and a small jump where placed on the frontstretch of the Charlotte Motor Speedway so the track could host its first-ever round of the Global Rallycross Championship later in the evening. Former WRC champion Marcus Gronholm won the event driving a Ford Fiesta. Travis Pastrana was the only NASCAR driver to compete in both events, he debuted his new Dodge Dart rally car but crashed out early in the night's finals. All the rallycross obstacles were removed afterward for the Coca-Cola 600. 28. Every time I pay attention he is climbing out of a wrecked race car. The Danica stuff is just getting to be a joke...take Rusty Wallace's "excellent" analysis: "When she (Danica) can't control the car, she slows down to her pace. She finishes races without tearing up equipment and she did a good job in the cup car at Darlington." Really Rusty?...so being that slow means she has talent? I can't remember exactly how many laps down she was but he mentioned it in that analysis as well and commended her. Bronco posted: 05.27.2012 - 5:56 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Glad to see Eliott Sadler close the gap by whatever means necessary. I really hate what happened to him at Darlington but hopefully he'll win some more and challenge Ricky more. The Cup guys are slowly taking back the series that they dominated for all these years, its now 6-5 still in favor of Nationwide regulars. I personally think Brian Scott is FAR worse than Steve Wallace, he can run in the top 10 usually since he has one of the faster cars in the field, but he is so far behind all the others that have driven the 18 and 20 rides this year. He has a hard enough time finishing races, yet alone competing for wins. Steve Wallace at least had the equipment disadvantage, but even then he could pull off top top 5s at Darlington, Richmond, IRP, Gateway, Montreal etc. Amazes me that Brian Scott has guaranteed sponsorship while Trevor Bayne is indefinitely parked in N'wide. Denny Hamlin gets his third straight runner up finish this year. It has been a while since him or Busch won in this series. As for the finish, wish Harvick would have won. 31. DaleSrFanForever posted: 05.27.2012 - 6:39 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) JP88, I agree with you. When I think of Brian Scott, the first image that comes to mind is of him climbing out of a wrecked race car on the track while the rest of the cars putter by under caution. Everytime the announcers mention him early in a broadcast running in the Top 10, I think "Don't worry, he'll screw it all up". I also agree about Rusty's analysis of Danica. I mentioned this after everyone in the media praised her for not wrecking after 500 miles at Darlington even though that meant she had to finish 6 laps down in 31st. Yes, to finish first, you must first finish. But you also must finish on the lead lap. Yeah she didn't tear much stuff up in Indy Car, but she also only won once. The fact is she needs to be doing better. She seems to always be last among the highly funded cars, and usually behind a few not very well funded cars. Cup needs to be the last thing on her mind right now. 32. Rob posted: 05.27.2012 - 7:23 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) what a joke of a series. cup drivers swept 5 out of the top 6 spots. none of these teams know how to do fuel mileage. and the last place finisher who only completed 3 laps got only about 1,000 dollars less than the guy who finished 17th and completed all the laps, it pays to start and park.......... 33. It's his 6th top 3 finish of the season, but he has 4 finishes of 16th or worse. Prior to Charlotte, James Buescher was the only driver with wins in multiple national touring series (NNS and Trucks). Brad Keselowski and Kasey Kahne have now done it after their wins, Cup and NNS for BraKes & Cup and Trucks for Kahne. Denny Hamlin finishes 2nd for a 3rd straight start, his 14th career runner-up finish in Nationwide which ties him with David Green for 20th all time. The #18 took over the lead in the owners standings by 10 points over the #6. Kyle Busch finishes in the top 3 for a 2nd straight start; in his first 5 starts of the season his best finish was 8th. The #54 is up to 9th in the owners standings. It's Kyle's 13th top 5 in 18 Charlotte starts (6.4 avg fin). Kevin Harvick led the most laps with 93, but has now gone 25 straight starts without a win. His longest winless streak in Nationwide is 27 races, from the end of 2007 to the beginning of 2009. In fact, he only has 3 wins in his last 76 starts. Elliott Sadler was the highest finishing Nationwide regular in 5th, his 2nd straight top 5 after going 5 straight without one. Joey Logano earned his 3rd NNS pole of the season and 19th of his career. But he settled for 6th, just his 3rd top 10 in 6 starts in the #20 this year (2 wins, 3 top 5's in 3 starts in the #18). James Buescher picks up his 3rd straight top 10 finish to improve his average finish to 9.8 in 9 starts this season (no finish worse than 14th). Based on pts/race, he'd be 4th in the standings if he were running full time. The #30 Turner team is T-6th in the owners points. Justin Allgaier's 6th top 10 of the season, all in the last 9 races, has him up to a season-high T-5th in the standings. But he's gone 25 straight races without a top 5 finish. Sam Hornish Jr. gets his 5th top 10 of the year, but hasn't had back-to-back top 10's since the 2nd and 3rd races of the season. His 10.4 avg fin's an improvement over his 13.1 avg fin in 13 races in 2011. Joey Coulter joins Ryan Blaney and Darrell Wallace Jr. as drivers to finish in the top 10 in their Nationwide Series debuts this season (15 top 10's in 30 career Truck Series starts). Mike Bliss finished a season-best 12th, and has finished no worse than 18th over the last 10 races. Danica Patrick qualified 3rd for her best career non-plate start and 4th top 5 start in 36 races. She finished in the top 13 for the 3rd time in the last 4races, after just 2 top 15 finishes in the first 7 races of the year. Timmy Hill picked up his 2nd top 20 finish in 6 races since going back down to Nationwide full time. 38. 10andJoe posted: 05.29.2012 - 11:21 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Dover entry list is out; 43 cars: -Koch back in the 15, #75 TBA -Ryan Truex in the 20 -Kligerman in the 22 -Bainey in the 24 -Richards in the 39 -David Green keeping the 70 locked in 39.
