(The race with the infamous Carl Edwards/Brad Keselowski finish.) I thought he did a really good job that day because he was very insightful about the cars and drivers, and he pitched good questions for Rusty Wallace and Andy Petree to give their expert opinions throughout the race. I'm not watching the race at the moment, but based on Burns' performance a few years ago, I think he'll do a fine job calling the races when Allen Bestwick is not readily available. 39. He just doesn't seem to have the enthusiasm for calling races the way he used to. I remember a Nationwide race last year (I can't remember which race, but it was one when Kyle Busch won after passing Sam Hornish, Jr. for the final lead change.), and after Kyle made a ballsy 3-wide pass on Hornish and a lapped car for the lead, all that Bestwick said was "New leader...Kyle Busch." I know that Kyle is a Cup driver and he drives for one of the two best Nationwide teams, but his pass for the lead and ultimately the win deserved far better coverage than it received. Maybe he's just bored by the racing in recent years. Maybe he's made his money and just doesn't care as much as he used to. It seems like all he talks about at Talladega and Daytona is "the big wreck". Dave Burns is good though. Hopefully both drivers have full-time Nationwide rides next season, either with the #54 and #22 teams or another top notch organization because both of them are too good to stay in their current roles. Iowa native Landon Cassill caps off his top ten qualifying run with his second straight top ten finish. He's done a terrific job with the small JD Motorsports team this season, and one can only wonder how well he might do with a bigger team. Top-15 finishes for Chase Pistone and Austin Theriault in their respective series debuts, and solid top-20 finishes for Ryan Sieg, J.J. Yeley, and Ryan Gifford as well. Also, Matt DiBenedetto earns a respectable 25th place finish for Curtis Key's organization.
