Every one of the 40 cars that started this race completed at least 80 laps, and only three out of the 40 starters failed to finish. That, plus the speed difference between the fastest cars and those outside the top 25, resulted in quite a bit of difficulty in traffic that the competitors in this series aren't used to, simply because there usually aren't that many cars running at the finish. Usually, there are around 27-30 cars running at the end of a NNS race, but 37 were running at the end of this one, hence the heavy traffic the guys had to work through that they usually would not have to work through. In fact, Chase Elliott's run often would have resulted in a finish in the high-20s in the NNS, but not when 37 cars finish, as was the case today, and he was the last of those 37 finishers. 67. World71Racer posted: 05.24.2014 - 8:03 pm Rate this comment: (2) (1) Fastest race so far this season with an average speed of 149.771 MPH. It took 2 hrs & 11 seconds to complete, pretty fast for 300 miles. It's also the fewest cautions in a Nationwide race so far this season (3 for 13 laps). Rather uneventful race, not too much side by side action, but it was nice to see a race not be so caution filled every now and then. Good job to Kyle Larson, well-deserved victory over two undeserving drivers. One in particular, Kyle Busch, was a real a$$ in his interview today. He was asked about how hard his team works and he slipped it in there they "never really do", but was quick to cover it up. I really hope someone notices that, especially his team, and shows him who's wrong with that. 69. 02Justin10 posted: 05.24.2014 - 9:44 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Eh...well...today's race was technically a race...but really uneventful and I think looking at the crowd could predict that. I think there were many more people at the Indy 500 Festival Parade than at that NNS race to be honest. Congrats to Kyle Larson on kicking ass again!!! (Remember, he didn't get a ride because of Pop-Pop, GoDaddy or some money empire.) And yet he keeps performing! I have to echo the thoughts of people complimenting Ross Chastain. So far this year, that SS GreenLight NNS effort has been near the tail of the field, today they were far from it! I'm not a Kyle Busch fan, but it was extremely clear that it was him slipping on words rather than some sort of Freudian slip. He was trying to say "they always do, they never give up" and he said "they always do, they never d... they never give up." There's nothing to make of this aside from a joke. On a different note, being that this is a stats website and the comments section is often used when looking at past races to remember what happened, and being that there's actually a #76 car in the race, there's really no need to be facetious about the 2 cars who are usually the class of the field by calling them the 76 car. It's counterproductive in an attempt to be clever about something that we all know already. 76.
