I could see Chase lose his points lead and Ty Dillon could make a rookie mistake, maybe one that causes him to wreck. Ty makes rookie mistakes, I've seen. It's ok since he IS a rookie but it could hurt him today. Childress cars are slower, so if he has a speeding penalty or misses his pit stall as he has, it could really mess him up. Particularly if it was late in the race. Regan Smith and Elliott Sadler no clue. Trevor Bayne and Brian Scott are thought to be the best road racers of the top-6. If these two avoid trouble, particularly if Ty can't manage to, they could close the 29 point gap, at least partially. 15. Meanwhile, Ambrose has basically run 24th the entire year. 71. Paul posted: 08.09.2014 - 5:16 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) Watching Brad Keselowski drive like a madman for much of the race was probably the most entertaining part of this race. Even though he had a 4th place car, wasn't racing for points in the owner's championship, he was racing to win and was willing to do whatever it took (short of wrecking another car) to do it. As for Dylan Kwasniewski's latest blunder, I'll admit that I'm also greatly entertained by the weekly mistakes that this rookie driver has made all season. It reminds me of when Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. and Colin Braun were crashing almost every week in the Nationwide Series as rookies during the 2010 season. When a top team hires you to drive their equipment, even if you're a rookie, you need to prove that you belong in that equipment. You can't be crashing almost every week because then you're just wasting a seat that a better driver driving for a lesser team could be using. Call me harsh if you want, but whenever Kwasniewski has a race like he had today, I laugh. He doesn't deserve that ride, and he doesn't deserve the full season sponsorship backing that he has received based on the results he's gotten and the seemingly lack of growth he has shown this season. That being said, he entertains me, and not in a good way. I look forward to watching him screw up again next weekend at Mid-Ohio. 72. Jarrett88fan posted: 08.09.2014 - 5:19 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Points racing isn't bad, but a win unlocks the door to the Chase. If anything the points system is a blend of consistency and winning. Going into Homestead, one or two of the final four teams will have used consistent finishes to be in position to win the championship. 73. Paul posted: 08.09.2014 - 5:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I agree with murb and The Long Shot. As much as I don't like Bowyer or Dillon, I will say that they are both better all-around drivers than Ambrose and are having much better seasons than him on the Sprint Cup side this season. I'm not sure if Dillon will qualify for the Chase, but I absolutely think that Bowyer will based on points. Even though he hasn't won a Cup points race in almost two years, his driving talents and good finishes this season warrant him a Chase berth. 74. It's a real shame that the kid has a top quality Nationwide ride and is basically wasting it every week.
