The first thing he did in victory lane was apologize to Larson. But most importantly, he is DAMN good on the race track. You don't just hold off Kyle Busch (who was class of the field) while your own car is completely beat to shreds. He should have faded back to about 10th after the deal with Larson, but he held on and pulled out the win. He's the real deal. James Buescher wills the RAB entry to a t-10 which I love to see. That team could use a boost, remember they were fast enough to win 2 poles last year with Alex Bowman. Maybe this is the holy they need. Jake Crum had a good run all night until his car died. I hope DeWare puts him in some more races this year, he's a pretty talented guy. Most of the reason I like guys like Larson, Blaney and Elliott is they don't act like everybody should just move over for them. They drive hard and seem like they want to EARN their way to the top. Would be nice to see some hard nosed, yet respectful drivers coming to Cup soon. Too many whiny biyatches like Harvick, Logano, the Busch Brothers, etc.. over the past decade for my liking. It honestly seems like Busch gets downright offended when someone steps up and challenges him for the win. It's like he's thinking "I've had the best car all night, how dare you try to pass me for the win. You (Blaney) are supposed to just let me cruise to the win." Very high on the very long list of reasons as to why I hate Kyle Busch. Hoping he completes his "sweep" tomorrow. Brooms at the ready!! 142. So I don't mind he didn't win yesterday - there's always another race. And one last thing, congratulations to Ryan Blaney - he beat Kyle fair and square. 143. dennyfan11 posted: 08.23.2014 - 7:57 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) I think Ryan has a bright future. 144. Don't be so quick to throw out straw man arguments - it was pretty clear that Kyle Busch didn't go in the restart zone after brake checking the field. If Blaney was the one making a mistake on the restart, I'd bet that everyone here who understands the restart rules wouldn't have complained. Of course, I'm sure some would have complained - mainly those who don't really know restart protocol and such. 145. Watto posted: 08.23.2014 - 8:15 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) This is a little nitpicky of me, but something that bothered me in victory lane was the group of people holding up countless Food City signs (in front of a Food City banner, mind you) which left Ryan's team out in a corner behind the back of the car, basically out of view. So Ryan jumps out of his car without the usual scenery, noise, and gatorade soaking with his crew on the other side of the car, in favor of one of the most obnoxious sponsor displays I've ever seen. Maybe I'm alone, but it honestly annoyed me seeing that live. Anyway, Ryan Blaney is too solid, you could say. He drives far beyond his years and with a level of etiquette, and truly seems like a good guy. What a great win for him. The Kyle Larson incident was clearly unintentional as Ryan was chasing his car all the way up the track with his back end hung out, these things happen from time to time. Ryan doesn't make a habit of it happening. Also nice 12th place finish for Jeffrey Earnhardt for Johnny Davis, which easily covers his previous best of 16th. 146. Just like Trevor Bayne in 2011, 2013 and for the final time, 2014. I used Trevor as the comparison since Ryan Blaney replaces him in the Wood Brothers car. Next year, if his health holds, he's gonna Cup race at Bristol again. March 2011 was the last time a Bristol Cup race had the Hometown Boy in it. He was actually running decent before he had an incident, according to this Trevor Facebook group I'm in. I don't have Cable TV, so I relied on the Internet to see what was up at Bristol late night. Now I am even more convinced that he is the real deal. Yeah the Penske cars are strong, but the guys who have been doing the winning in them have also been setting fires in Cup (Logano, Brad). Like some people said, good to see Jeffrey Earnhardt finish 12th with a team that has lesser strength even compared to most Nationwide-only teams. 155. murb posted: 08.23.2014 - 3:19 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) The thing that I think made Ryan's win that much more impressive was that his car was beat to hell after the Larson incident. He hit the wall pretty hard with the right side. So he totally outdrove Kyle Busch (who had the best car by far) with a wounded race car. I'm impressed by Jeffrey Earnhardt too, though. He also had a run like this at Richmond a couple years ago where he ran really well (was it the one where he drove for Dale Jr?), so I think he definitely has talent. If he could get a part time schedule for a big team, I think he could put up some decent numbers for sure. 156.
