These Xfinity teams prepared some great cars this weekend, all 40 drivers should be able to keep with the draft and have a shot at the victory. Justin Marks, starting on the front row, has had a pretty dismal speedweeks to this point. Finished dead last in the Truck race and missed the show entirely in the Cup series. Not true this late in the race. The leader were more than likely not gonna make another stop. That takes away the wave around. Suarez was also two laps down and there were cars still one lap down. The only way had would even get into position to get a lucky dog would be if he raced back one of the laps on the track. I have no problem with what he was doing. He still had time to get back in the race if he raced one of the laps back, an in all honesty that wreck is on Larson. NASCAR needs to get the bump-draft back in to play on the Cup side. Stenhouse is the only one who comes to mind, and he showed a lot of improvement from the time Jack made him sit out a race to the end of his rookie season. Kyle Busch suffered a hard hit on the inside wall, he carried a lot of speed out of tri-oval and hit the inside wall near the entrance to the road course--Hard. Also hearing he will be out for the Daytona 500, these drivers know the risks when driving in other series, hopefully this will be a career-changing incident that will make Kyle lighten his Nationwide efforts and focus on his Cup efforts. I was surprised Almirola didn't pull it off at the end the way he was pushing forward; interesting he was driving a #98; though not a Curb Motorsports car it did have that Curb flavor, doubly interesting with Aric's Cup team in Richard Petty and the historic link with Curb. As for the Kyle Busch wreck, I was there at the track and immediately had a feeling he wouldn't race tomorrow when they said they were just taking him straight to the hospital. And I agree 100% with Larry Mac that there is no reason that 15 seasons of safety advances don't include complete deployment of soft walls at every track on the circuit. Easily the hardest hit I've seen in years. Now finally, the first major wreck. I realize that obviously Larson deserves some of the blame for turning Suarez around, however, the fact that Suarez was directly in front of a number of lead lap cars while 2 laps down was simply a recipe for disaster. I could understand being up there while being the first car 1 lap down, but to be 2 laps down and holding up the leaders is a completely unnecessary and potentially dangerous move. I ended up missing the race finish due to work. When I got home to watch the highlights on FOX Sports Live, I basically cringed seeing that wreck. OUCH!!! I agree with everyone (drivers, announcers, RR posters, etc.) that we need safer barriers everywhere at not just only Daytona, but every track NASCAR visits. That is inexcusable to see this happen. At least on a brighter note we saw a first time winner. Congrats to Ryan Reed on winning his first ever NXS race. The fact that he and Charlie Kimball have balls to drive race cars for a living while diabetic shows they can overcome their disease and race like any other normal person on this Earth that races. Charlie and Ryan are not only normal, but also talented. Again congrats Ryan on winning yesterday and get well soon Kyle. 523. Jack Roush is running his team into the ground". I don't care if today is a plate race or not. What today proved is that the organization is alive and kicking. It is sad people have to bash this team all the time. I once did, but as 2014 ended I was like "I'm not so sure Roush won't be a great team again." At long last this team is developing young talents like it did long ago. I don't care if it's a Xfinity plate race. That organization is much more persistent then people give it credit for. I expect them to be much improved in both Cup and Xfinity, and for a whole lot of people to eat crow. I salute you Cat in the Hat, give em hell!" I just said Roush sucked ass last year (which they did). By the looks of it this year, though, they're on the path to improvement, at least in Xfinity. I could see all four of their drivers going to victory lane once or twice this season. 524. And with no RAB Racing entered here, perhaps they are focusing on their Sprint Cup effort? On a side note...after speedweeks and remembering most of the posts I've seen here...there was not much mention on here about NASCAR's group qualifying. I mean, it seems like everyone hated it, but there hasn't been that much noise about it on here. *I actually enjoyed the group qualifying. It was more unpredictable and I loved seeing underdogs being sprinkled in the front of the fields.* 530. He just needs to leave the series. Ok ok he can help out the younger guys, but Sadler does not deserve that ride. But with everything I'm saying about Roush, him having success makes me look good lol. 533. Despite that fact he still finished in the top-15 regularly and finished 10th in points for the season. 538.
