They though they had all the oil cleaned up from that crash and when they got the car on the hook they noticed there was still a lot more under the car. Even if they red flagged the race at that point that there still would have been less than 10 laps left in the race and with how Hornish's car was late in that race he would have had a hard time making up the 3 or 4 spots he needed to even with an extra 3 or 4 laps he would of had. 57. So far in his Cup career, I can't really think of ANY times he's been a real factor for the win other than the fall Talladega race in 2013 and Bristol earlier this year...He's basically Mr. Invisible on the Cup side of things...which basically makes him the near-perfect RCR driver. 120. I legitimately think the sponsors and media would rejoice if NASCAR rescinded the rule that drivers can only earn points in one series. The fact that the owners' titles got hyped up more than the drivers' titles the last couple of years tells me that they would prefer to see the Cup drivers winning the drivers' title as well... 124. Exactly, he is REALLY hyped and what he did so far is great, but he is not as good as he is said to be. It's no denying that he is extremely capable, but at the moment he is not the top driver he is said to be. He falls off at the end way too much and can't pit at all. Luck also seems to elude him a bit. But he is a rookie in the trucks and when he is not in the top 10 of a Busch race, then people are asking what happened to him. See? That is being overrated. 126. I think THAT would drive away even more fans, even the hardcore ones, but NASCAR has proven that it doesn't give a damn, so...sadly I can see that happening not too far off in the future. Or, if you ask someone who actually watched the race, you'd find that Brian Scott broke a shock absorber and that Harvick and Jones (who ran in the top six or eight pretty much all race) got trapped a lap down by a caution right after they pitted under green. 129. murb posted: 05.23.2015 - 5:15 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "Austin is FAR from the worst driver I've ever seen set foot in a stock car, but he's definitely an example of a driver who is overhyped by quite a few people." He's the next Ryan Newman, only he's never gonna have an 8 win season that can half be attributed to fuel mileage advantage (although, on second thought, RCR is always getting banged for some type of infractions, so I wouldn't put it past them to try something like that). 130. My only problem is that he is hailed as someone who would break records and everyone seems to think that he is able to do this right now, which is not true, Erik has a lot of learning to do still. And Bubba has been top 6 in points all year, so we can't count him out yet, IMO.
