Timmy Hill qualified well and is known as a good, clean plate racer, maybe in for a top 10? 4. luigistarted06 posted: 07.04.2015 - 4:51 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Mark Thomspon will not be in tonight's race. Kidding aside, I actually like Allen as a commentator. He has a good enough amount of enthusiasm without going too far and coming off like a rejected cartoon character, like the Waltrips do (don't get me wrong, I genuinely love cartoons-in fact I honestly prefer them to live action shows-but when I watch a race I DON'T want the commentators to act cartoony or seem like they are trying to upstage the racing action). Jeff Burton seems fairly insightful so far, and Letarte seems decent enough. Last year, there was a girl here that didn't like Chase at all and then turned around. This girl posted all these crazy comments about how Chase shouldn't be champ and blamed Asperger's for the irrational thinking. "racefangurl is absolutely, totally against the idea of Chase Elliott winning the Nationwide title because he is a rookie driver, yet on last week's race, she mentioned she was OK with Martin Truex, Jr. basically having pulled off the same feat a decade earlier because she liked Truex, which is VERY hypocritical. I'm convinced it's not the fact that Chase is a rookie is what bothers her so much about the idea of him winning the championship, but that rather it's because she has some strange, completely irrational hatred for Elliott himself." This is what another poster had to say about said girl and it was in the Dover 200 comments. The girl's bashing Chase comments began last summer. In the Lilly Diabetes 250 comments, racefangurl ( said girl's site name) said rookies lack the experience to win titles. From late July clear through to Veterans Day, the girl's activity on this section of these boards was talk about stuff like pie in the sky, boycotting the series because of fixed, rigged, scripted or dumbed down racing (even mentioning a farewell to this section post) and in about the last month of said stretch choke talk, all aimed at Chase, with non-Chase stuff sprinkled in, at times, though. Chokevember was a term used once November came along. On Veteran's Day, Watto replied to a racefangurl comment and then it all turned around. Racefangurl said "The reason I refuse to acknowledge Chase Elliott is nobody's really that good as an 18 year old rookie. " Watto said "You know who was that good as an 18 year old Nationwide rookie? Joey Logano. He didn't even do a full schedule. The thing is that age really doesn't matter if they're someone who has been racing for a few years already. Chase Elliott did a lot of late model racing as a teenager. He adjusted to Nationwide quicker than people expected, but it wasn't a surprise that he would adjust. Rookies aren't always that good, and it doesn't matter their age. Some rookies, however, stand out from the rest. Age is completely irrelevant. Chase Elliott didn't start racing late models at 17. He's been racing for most of his life." As a Joey Logano fan, racefangurl reformed. Other posters complained about the Chase bashing and then after the end of that, complained about easily convinced the girl was. Sometimes, you just can't win on these boards. 406.
