Tags is a regular in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series this season so his stock car skills have gotten regular honing leading up to this race. Tagliani has never won a Busch race coming into this race. 3. We need more Onion posted: 08.15.2015 - 12:46 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) YEAH! One of the best Xfinity races of the year. No damn' cup drivers and a great track. Go Clements! Also, Lally has a crew chief, 2 crew members and a single set of tires for the race. 4. Hopefully the 22 has some type of problem to screw Tagliani and show Roger Penske that the owners championship isn't life or death, put a deserving young driver in that car. No cup guys all the time or road course drivers. 6. He's run top 10 in Xfinity races in the past and has a win at Road Atlanta in the K&N East series. Anyone know what happened to Chastain to leave him 32nd on the grid? Was he just plain slow? 9. CrazyNASCARFan posted: 08.15.2015 - 2:11 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) The tracks are close, but the schedules makes double duty almost impossible. Last year, Ryan Blaney practiced and qualified the Wood Brothers car because their regular driver at the time was in the Mid-Ohio race. Ryan's their regular driver now. Speaking of Ryan, does anyone wish he was in Ohio? Even if I don't have strong feelings about him, he's too good to not have a full-time ride in any series. 10. Going into that last lap, I thought, "It would be great if he just bumped Tagliani out of the way after how last week went for him," and then as I looked up, it happened. It's not like Regan lucked his way into it, either. He was fast all day long. And for Tagliani to complain about it is hilarious considering he'll divebomb just about anybody and then keep going like nothing happened. If I didn't have concrete plans, I kept getting wrecked, and I hadn't won in nearly 2 years, yeah, I'd probably do the same thing. I didn't see the full results yet, but good run for Lupton. Good for him. That Ben Rhodes kid bounced off of just about everything today and still got a top 10, too. Not a fan of how he did it today. How about Smith with the bump and run on the last lap? Too bad for Tagliani as I would have liked to see him finally get a win in NASCAR, but for Smith, this is definitely redemption from last week! I find it kind of funny how some people are mad that Smith moved Tagliani out of the way...First of all, he MOVED Tagliani out of the way, he didn't dump him. I think it takes more talent to just move someone out of the way than to wreck them to win a race or gain a position...which requires NO talent at all. Anyone could easily do that. Second, Tagliani basically got caught sleeping by Smith, he was paying too much attention to his rear view mirror and that let Smith get to him. Besides...it was the last lap. If you honestly say that you would have just sat there and taken second rather than trying to win the race...I wouldn't believe you for a second. 143. 52 posted: 08.15.2015 - 6:42 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Also, big difference in wrecking someone and nudging them out of the way. As I said...it takes more talent to move someone out the way without wrecking them than it does to flat out dump someone. A MONKEY could dump another driver. Gotta love how some drivers feel they can race anyone else hard and rough you up whenever they want, but when someone has the gall to actually RACE against them, they get all upset and pout about how someone drove dirty against them. I'm not going to really take Tagliani to task for feeling upset over losing the race, but there are QUITE a few drivers in NASCAR with that sort of attitude. I swear, I honestly think some drivers just want everyone else to roll over for them and let them win...If you want to race people hard, you should EXPECT other people to do the same to you. 146. Was supposed to be a big prospect with a bright NASCAR future, wrecks a ton of racecars for HScott Motorsports last year, gets taken out of the ride and we don't hear anything from him for the rest of the year.. I believe this was his first appearance in a NXS car this year and albeit for a mediocre team, still comes home 34th. I had high hopes for the kid but his NASCAR future is looking bleaker and bleaker. Maybe he'll get another shot at some point down the line after he proves that he can handle a racecar. I believe that one of the bigger teams should take a shot on him and place him in the Truck Series for a couple of years and see what he can do. 147. I've also heard he was released by HScott so I'm not exactly sure what to believe. I want to see him get a full-time ride in NXS because I love watching the series (especially like today when there are zero Cup guys in the race) and following the prospects, but the kid just can't seem to catch a break. It would be spectacular -- to me at least -- to see Kwasniewski, Johanna Long, James Buescher, Nelson Piquet Jr., Parker Kligerman, Ryan Truex (and even Brad Sweet and Reed Sorenson) back in the XFinity Series with decent rides and decent sponsorship to where they can show what they can do in a racecar. I could maybe see it happening if the Cup teams left and you saw the Cup driver start running their own teams in the Xfinity Series. Yeah guys like Brad and Kyle would more than likely still run a lot of races but at least they seem more likely to give these kids a shot in their cars than Penske and Gibbs currently do. I think the one team who has it perfect right now is JRM. One car split by cup drivers and a very young kid who's developing with two other cars for full time drivers that have tallent. If more teams did that I feel the majority of the drivers you listed off would have a ride. 153. That's not the case, though. Tagliani did a normal move that the leader often does: he drove into that corner extremely deep to buy himself some room to not get run over. However, Regan drove into that corner even deeper - deep enough that he blew the corner and drove straight up the track to initiate contact, which was his goal. That's racing, and it's all legal in NASCAR and all, but it certainly was an intentional movie for Regan (that he even admits) and isn't a "clean" move.
