Looks more like an error on my end, I thought the effects of the storm were more widespread. The hurricane still could cause issues later this weekend. 11. joey2448 posted: 10.02.2015 - 6:24 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Hurrican Joaquin was originally expected to affect Saturday, Sunday and Monday weather at the track, but now it appears that Saturday will be the most affected, while Sunday is iffy and Monday could be the driest of all. I think today's (Friday) weather was mostly a separate system. I know everyone complains about the 22 and 54 cars starting up front, but I'll be pulling for Blaney (like I always do). 12. Big Mac Fan posted: 10.02.2015 - 6:35 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "Elliott has bought a ride with JR Motorsports." The word "bought" really bothers me. You think someone with 10 career wins who almost won a title is a ride buyer? Then by those standards, Chase Elliott must be a ride buyer since he has a famous last name, NAPA, and less than 10 wins. I do hope Regan will find a ride. 14. 88&4Fan posted: 10.02.2015 - 6:50 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The difference between the two Elliotts is Chase has his whole career ahead of him and he will have other sponsors too, like 3M and I think Axalta is staying. Probably not AARP though because it would be kinda weird for them to sponsor a 20 year old kid. Maybe they'll move over to Jr since he'll be the new "old man" at Hendrick and also he generally has a few races late in the year where he needs sponsorship. As for Sadler, OneMain has sponsored him in pretty much every single race during his Nationwide/Xfinity series career from 2011 until present day, and has boug... I mean "travelled" with him to four different teams now and on each team ever since he left RCR he has been the second or third best driver on the team. There is no way that he gets the JRM ride without OneMain's $$$, and honestly I'm very disappointed in Junior for taking money (Sadler) over talent (Smith). He'll always be my driver but I'm still very disappointed in him and his sister for this decision and I really hope Smith can find another ride. 15. Big Mac Fan posted: 10.02.2015 - 7:15 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) While I respect your opinion, I would like to know why you slam Sadler yet you cheer for Brian Scott.. Shore Lodge has "travelled" with him to all of his teams. He also was in the same rides as Elliott had (#2,11) and he did even worse in both of them. Elliot had 4 wins and almost won the title and in the last seasons Scott has only came close once to a win. While Elliott's performance wasn't the greatest in the 11, it was way better than Scott's. So may I ask, why do you call a person a "ride buyer" with 10 wins yet you cheer for and call a guy underrated who hasn't even won a race with the exact same sponsor situation in the same ride? Would you be dissapointed in Jr if he hired Scott instead of Sadler? 17. 88&4Fan posted: 10.02.2015 - 7:37 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) I actually used to think Brian Scott was just a ride buyer with daddy's money back when he drove for Gibbs and he was horrible, but he has improved a lot with RCR and come close to winning several races. And he is also just trying to get a successful cup career started while Sadler hasn't been relevant in years and has regressed to hogging up quality equipment that could be used by people like Regan Smith who can actually win in it. (Yes, I know Elliott nearly won the championship the two years when he was with KHI/RCR, but in the three years since then with two different teams he is constantly being outrun by his teammates and rarely in contention for top wins or top fives even). 18. MAR posted: 10.02.2015 - 7:54 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) While I don't consider Sadler a ride buyer since he is a 10 time winner in xfinity also a former cup and truck series winner I do think Sadler playing musical chairs between rides isn't good but the move to Jr Motorsports is a good one for him and Jr sadler's decline could be a bit pre mature considering he's averaging 20+ top 10's a season in a R&D JGR #11 and a start up RFR #1 not to mention going from top dog at KHI to bein Dillon's mentor and second driver at RCR I actually think Sadler will be a title threat next season and who would you rather have replace Chase Elliot, Ben Rhodes? Cole Custer? No the safe bet would be Sadler. 19. Big Mac Fan posted: 10.03.2015 - 1:26 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) "Regressed to hogging up quality equipment." Sadler's points finishes since 2013: 4th, 3rd, 6th (currently) Scott's points finishes since 2013: 7th, 4th, 7th (currently) Sadler isn't hogging up good equipment. Lets also remember that the 2 was a much better car than the 11. That's why the 11 was the R&D car for Gibbs and that's why he didn't have as much success in it as the 2. It's also why Scott ran like garbage in the 11. And while Buescher is leading the points, Sadler has been about equal to Wallace. I do agree though that he shouldn't race much longer though since he's 40, if he hits a sharp decline he should call it a career but that hasn't happened yet. Anyways I'm not entirely sure how Sadler will do in 2016. I think we will need to wait and see. 20. With Elliott moving to Cup and taking NAPA with him I assumed that Sadler was taking over the #9 (likely renumbered to #1) and they would continue to run Smith in the #7 and the #88 continuing as a revolving door of cup drivers (likely including Chase for a few races) and others. 148. Nice to see a regular win! As far as my title picks, all the top-4 have a fighting chance (given the spread from 1-4 is less than a race), especially if something happens with Buescher, but I won't be too mad. I don't hate Buescher, but I'm not a real fan either. I just prefer the drivers right behind him. 149.
