He's not as good as those three, but after watching the way he progressed through last year (and into the first three races of this year), I don't think he's all THAT far off (outside of Jones/Elliott/Blaney, I'd probably take him over every other young driver currently in the sport right now other than maybe John Hunter Nemechek and Bubba Wallace - and honestly, putting Bubba on there is kind of a homer choice because he's probably my favorite driver in all of Nascar right now - Suarez actually might be better than him already). I just really love how well Suarez has adapted to everything. He's really fast at pretty much every type of track (when you look at all of his top fives so far in NXS, there's a lot of good variety in there - both Bristol races last year, Darlington which he almost won, Phoenix, Loudon, Kentucky/Indy/Charlotte/Vegas which are all different styles of intermediates, etc), and now that he has a full year under his belt he's starting to look smarter and smarter as a racer every time I watch him. Obviously it's hard to say how he'll be once he gets to Cup (and I say "once" because obviously he has his own sponsorship - after Jones makes it to Cup I imagine Suarez will be guaranteed one of the other JGR cars - maybe the #19 because of the Arris connection if Edwards has a Kahne-at-Hendrick style tenure at JGR over the next three or so years), but as long as he's in NXS I see him being a serious championship contender that's capable of winning pretty much anywhere (again, he's pretty much mastered the bread and butter of the schedule - he needs work on plate tracks and road courses but I imagine those will come with time like they do for most good drivers). 205. Braindead Zombie posted: 03.05.2016 - 8:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "After Jones makes it to Cup I imagine Suarez will be guaranteed one of the other JGR cars" I can see Suarez leaving JGR because I don't think they'll have enough room for him. JGR has four cup drivers, and I don't see any of them leaving anytime soon. Erik Jones could move to the second FRR car next year, but thats only a rumor that that car will even exist. And then Suarez would have to wait for another opening, which I don't think will happen for a while. Since he has his own sponsorship, I could see him taking Arris to somewhere like SHR or Penske. 206. Neal posted: 03.05.2016 - 9:55 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Amazing race. Said no-one ever. 207. Unless it's just a part time Cup ride for Furniture Row (since they can't do the fifth car anymore because of the charter), I don't see that happening. JGR seems way too high on Jones (and rightfully so) to just have him on essentially a farm team once he gets to Cup. I think it's way more likely that Jones runs two years in NXS (which has most definitely been the norm for young drivers coming through that series in recent years - Chase Elliott, Buescher, Austin Dillon, etc - even all the way back to Jr and Kenseth most of the guys out of that series have generally run two years), and then after that he gets one of the four JGR Cup cars for 2018 (and I still think it's gonna be the #20 car - even though Kenseth is still going strong right now, he'll be 45-46 once the 2018 season begins - to me it just makes the most sense unless Hamlin or Edwards have glaringly mediocre seasons the next two years - and honestly with JGR running this strong right now I don't see that). Actually, now that I think about it, out of the two of them Suarez is probably more likely to end up in a Furniture Row Cup ride at some point (though maybe not next year if Furniture Row is in fact going through with the second car - although on second thought if Suarez lights it up and wins/strongly contends for the NXS title this year I guess it's possible - after all he would also fall under the "two years in NXS" threshold by that point). 212. thebatmanjoker posted: 03.05.2016 - 11:42 pm Rate this comment: (3) (0) This is getting hard to see... nascar ..do something. 213. Well, he wasn't the only one who forgot that Xfinity has a race at Pocono now... :D And by the way, he's supposed to run 16 races in Xfinity Series this year, not 15. Anyway, at the beginning of the season, he didn't win at 4 tracks (Atlanta, Las Vegas, Pocono and Watkins Glen) in Xfinity. Now, he has 2 wins and Atlanta with Las Vegas checked from the list. I wouldn't be surprised, if he won at Pocono and Watkins Glen this year as well. 215. I think he'll eventually win at at least two of those tracks, probably Charlotte and either Kansas or Pocono. 216. 1995z71 posted: 03.06.2016 - 1:48 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) ZZZzzzZZZ..... 217. 1995z71 posted: 03.06.2016 - 1:56 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) INTERESTING FACT: Top 10 All 3 Gibbs Cars All 3 JR Motorsports Cars All 4 RCR Cars 218. Well, he wasn't the only one who forgot that Xfinity has a race at Pocono now... :D" I don't really pay attention much to the Nationwide schedule, so of course I didn't realize it was being brought to the Xfinity series when I posted on Kyle Busch's page :P "Wow, I didn't realize how close he was to winning a race on every track. I think he'll eventually win at at least two of those tracks, probably Charlotte and either Kansas or Pocono." Wonder how relief he feels to win at Homestead on top of winning the championship last year. Homestead is a strange track with the championship on the line every year. Before the elimination chase, if the driver has a good lead in points, he'd had to drive smart and not risk going for the win to jeopardize his championship hopes. Now it's all about the win. 220. Vince posted: 03.06.2016 - 5:20 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) It's untrue to say that Keselowski didn't have a single problem, he made a green flag stop for a loose wheel. But still he was running poorly all race long, the loose wheel happened after he had to take a wave around to get back on the lead lap 222. I was just wondering, because losing 3 laps without a single problem is nearly impossible for the No. 22, which is as dominant as No. 18, when Kyle drives it. 223. Think about that, most drivers struggle to win 1 race in there career Kyle still has to win the Daytona 500, All-Star Race, Eldora, and the truck title (few things he hasn't done) 224. They made a seat change and put Josh Reaume in the car instead to start and park. It was simply a driver change, not a WD. 225. Therefore Lupton should be listed as withdrawing. 227. Tyson posted: 03.06.2016 - 12:03 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) "If the chase started now, Ryan Sieg and Jeremy Clements would be in it. In fact in one of his post-championship interview back in December, he was asked if he was going to compete for the Truck championship. He referred to his Truck owner championships instead and how Kevin beat him a year early to be the first to do so, and at the same time that they both could duke it out during their retiring years at the Truck level. Honestly? How cool would that be to see both of them 10-20 years down the road duke it out down there? lol Minus last year and his first start, Kyle has led at least 11 laps in each of his All-Star starts. I don't think it's out of the question to win the All-Star, or Charlotte more or less. He just need a race that gets together to win one finally. 231. ch posted: 03.08.2016 - 7:15 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sponsor Change: 24 - JGL Racing Young Guns 232.
