This weekend's racing TV ratings will be interesting. IndyCar and Xfinity Series going head to head on network television. (FOX and ABC) 9. George posted: 05.14.2016 - 2:40 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Mikey's a paid shill and likes whatever NASCAR tells him to like. These heat race, which count for absolutely nothing except to detract from the length of the "main", are to some degree the equivalent of the caution clock that the truck series has -- we're going to run a small number of laps and then stop. What fun. Perhaps this is NASCAR's one attempt at NOT imitating stupid stick-and-ball crap: "It's real racing! Just like Friday night at your local short track!" but in reality it's just another pointless gimmick that I guess is supposed to help slow down the death spiral of track attendance, TV ratings and, most of all, fan interest circling the drain. Memo to NASCAR: get rid of the gimmicks and Just. Run. The. Damn. Race. 10. They should set the lineups for heat races based of practice speeds then set the lineup through heat races. 11. Lucstar88 posted: 05.14.2016 - 3:13 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) NASCAR has to do a lot more then eliminating the chase just to get people back. It would be a long process. You can't just change 1-3 things and hope for the best, racing would have to be cool again, but it isn't. Kids have so little attention spans that i really don't see kids wasting 3 hours watching a race, especially if it sucked. I'm glad I'm a race fan, but I barely know people here who are. Best finishes of the season for Obaika Racing with Guenette, Joey Gase in 23rd and Timmy Hill. For the No. 13 team, their 26th place effort was the team's first top-30 of the season. JJ Yeley's 11th was a best season finish for he and Tri-Star. A solid finish for Drew Herring too in 14th. That was the best finish for the No. 24 car this year, and it ties JGL Racing's best finish of the year. Dakoda Armstrong has two previous 14th place finishes.
