In addition, the #'s 14,10,93,92,89,15,40,79 don't plan on being around at the checkered. Meanwhile, the #'s 90,74,25,70,97,13,52,78 will entertain us while being the running wounded. Sometimes I just don't understand Penske's decisions - putting an extra car for Joey Logano at Watkins Glen, wrecking Owen Kelly at Mid-Ohio to make sure they will win the Owners Championship, putting a Buschwhacker to race at standalone track, ... 62. With the lineup this year all 3 drivers are full time cup drivers so either way one would be pulling double duty so it actually makes sense that Brad drives since he's the only one locked in the chase. 63. And now, he has 7 starts already and he's not done most definitely... Roger Penske doesn't have more than 3 drivers for that 22 car like 18 car of JGR used to have? In that case, it's pretty understandable, but still useless. Unless the full-time Cup driver is literally in love with some track, there's no reason to race at standalone track anymore, because these drivers can't score points. Even Kyle Busch figured it out and let some other (weaker) driver run it. 65. Now we can say this is false since Joey Logano won the Sprint Cup race the next day. 66. John posted: 06.12.2016 - 5:55 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) So far this year in the Xfinity Series, Xfinity regulars have scored only 31% of wins, 51% of top 5s & 60% of top 10s. Last year's Chase drivers have already started 30 races in the Xfinity Series, an average of 2 drivers per race. Last season, NXS drivers won 24% of races had 51% of top 5s and 65% of top 10s. The races are boring, and even when they're not, it's just the same guys we'll see the next day battling for the win. Cup drivers & teams, pit crews & sponsors are running Xfinity races, and that leaves the majority of Xfinity drivers with lesser equipment, lesser pit crews, not nearly as much sponsorship money (if any), and they're trying to show themselves and earn their way to the top. It isn't working. We need a change now. I would like to cut Cup drivers out of the series and limit Cup teams to a number of cars they can run, but for now any step in the right direction is good. Maybe that's limiting the number of races a Cup guy can run. I'm not sure. An interesting idea would be to not pay winnings to Cup drivers who race in Xfinity or Trucks and not allow those teams to earn owner or manufacturer points. Also, since the drivers say they do it for "more experience" instead of to beat up on young drivers, what if we made all the Cup guys start from pit road and didn't score their cars? Then it could just be like a practice session for them with other cars. If what they say is true, that shouldn't bother them. 67. Anonymous posted: 06.12.2016 - 6:02 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I get limiting cup drivers but why teams? Why should drivers have to drive for a crappy team in the name of "fairness"? 68. That way, if you lost your cup ride, you could drive Xfinity the next week. On off weekends for a series, don't let the drivers currently in the chase race in another series. 70. racefangurl posted: 06.14.2016 - 4:39 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 27, sports can be a solace in tragic times, as some say. "Everyone grieves in different ways, and it's true that sports have provided much-needed solace during times fraught with emotion and sadness. The NFL and Major League Baseball helped the entire nation heal in the dark days following 9/11. Adrian Peterson played two days after the death of his young son while Brett Favre took the field the day after his father died." Maybe Erik Jones found comfort in racing. 71.
