Not really that bold of a pick though to pick another JGR car. The CGR cars were fast too, maybe Poole can break through and pull off an upset win and get his first victory for real this time - but that's a longshot at best probably. 6. That's probably something I would do, honestly. You never know when NASCAR will do something about the Cup drivers, they can pull one out of their ass every now and then. Ah. If that's the case then Kyle Busch will be winning more. I am interested to see what happens once Kyle hit 100 career Xfinity wins. I kind of think he'll slow down. I mean he's really not that far off 50 Truck wins and he's definitely a hit to reaching 50 wins in Cup. So his personal goal of reaching 200 career win will definitely come easy for him. 16. I'd say it's very unlikely but hey even a .001% means it's still possible right. As for Byron and Bell the only race they might get is the Homestead race at the end of the year because Cup drivers who make the Chase can't race in it.Even then, as of right now I don't think either driver is signed to JGR, they're just with KBM. Cody Coughlin however is, and while he is nowhere near as good as the other two, he has sponsorship (which is probably worth more money than Byron's) and that might be enough to get him that ride. 23. OJGT (Overprivileged Joe Gibbs Toyotas): Like the P class in sportscars, they all qualify up front every race, lead every lap of every race, and win every single race. Sound familiar? 2. AOCD (All Other Cup Drivers): A class of their own for Austin Dillon, Paul Menard, Aric Almirola, Kyle Larson, etc. who if everything falls just right can occasionally run with the superior equipment but more often are clearly a step behind. 3. NCIH (No Chance In Hell): It's not fair to put Justin Allgaier and Elliott Sadler in the same class with Mike Harmon and Morgan Shepherd, but they all have exactly the same probability (zero) of winning a race or even contending. A restrictor plate race gives some illusion of hope to these guys, but not a lot. Class 3 (NCIH) are the ones who should make up the entire chase grid and from top to bottom at least provide some competition -- if only with each other. 49. Some things I can point out from this race: -All the drivers starting 22nd or better ALSO finishing 22nd or better, while everyone starting 23rd or worse ENDING UP 23rd or worse at the finish. -Also, all the drivers starting 22nd or better ALSO finishing either on the lead lap or one lap down, while everyone starting 23rd or worse ENDING UP two or more laps down. -Joey Gase, of all people, improving the most positions from start to finish in the race, at a measly 10 spots. -Brendan Gaughan managing to lead just one lap, but by doing so assuring that Kyle Busch would not lead every lap this race officially had en route to flat out dominating this race and winning (as one would expect Kyle Busch to do in a NASCAR Xfinity Series race). -And four Sprint Cup Series drivers managing to put four different teams in the top four, with both the JR Motorsports Xfinity regular drivers, Justin Allgaier and Elliott Sadler, finishing right behind the Cup quartet in 5th and 6th, respectively. Overall, this was a dull blemish at the Brickyard for the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and as people have said before me, IRP or Lucas Oil Raceway should DEFINITELY not have been removed from the NSACAR Xfinity Series schedule in favor of Indianapolis Motor Speedway or the Brickyard. That's all the grievances I have to point out for this race, as it did not take long for me to figure out that this race has one of the most displeasuring results in NASCAR Xfinity Series history. 93. It was supposed to be a Tifft race in the #18, and with Hornish in the #2 already, it'll be interesting to see who they tab to race what'll surely be one of the fastest cars on track. Aside from the possibility of pulling out a surprise, I think David Ragan is a possibility, as he's raced with Gibbs the last couple years and has a relationship with Toyota. Plus, starting from the back in his Cup car wouldn't really be a big deal. I'd love to see what Christopher Bell or William Byron could do at a higher level though. I feel like Bell could race anything once he fully comes around to stock cars, and Byron is obviously overflowing with talent. Getting either driver a start now would be excellent experience for them. 95. Not sure why they would keep it out so long at a big track as well, unless DiBenedetto needed some more practice before the Cup race today for some reason. That's as many miles as they've ran in the past 5 races combined or as many laps as they've ran in the past 3 combined. 98. He should be banned from all but Cup. 99. Interested to see how he does in a great ride as he's been terribly unimpressive in every other ride he's had. 102. There's a not-so-crazy rumour going around that Dakoda Armstrong, who's no longer listed as driving the 28 at Iowa, will bring Winfield to the team for a one-off. *awaits racing-reference to blow up with their DA haters* 104. Still rather would of seen Drew Hering in the #18 though. 105. Maverick11 posted: 07.25.2016 - 7:05 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Eh what the heck, let's see how he does. If he runs great, then most of us were proven wrong for a race. If he doesn't... 106. The Other Anonymous posted: 07.25.2016 - 7:55 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Gibbs usually doesn't give in to backmarker ride buyers. Except for Kevin Conway, and then there was Travis Kittleson's one off in 2007. So I guess it's not too much of a surprise. I also was hoping for Drew Herring, the guy that's been employed with JGR for years but hardly ever gets any seat time.... Or Brian Vickers, who did a fair job filling in for Tony but got skipped over in substitute considerations for Matt Tifft & Dale Jr. So it appears he's back to being the Sherriff of the unemployment line. 108. This season, he did it again in Xfinity, though. Same racetracks, just different series. Interesting. 111.
