Quite remarkable. It's the 15th front-row start for polesitter Erik Jones, who wins his 7th pole of the year. Consider that Jones' worst two qualifying efforts came in the last two road course races, a 13th at the Glen and sixth at Mid-0hio. Other than those two races, he has started top five in every race. Ridiculous stats. Fresh off his impressive run in the rain at Mid-Ohio, Darrell Wallace Jr. equals his best start of the year in sixth (matched by July Daytona). 3. First half of this race was a bit dull, though it was interesting seeing the cars being able to run all different grooves. They saved much of the excitement for the second half-I'd have to say the caution for Darrell Wallace smacking the wall really shook this one up. Two of the three fastest cars all night-and all 3 JGR cars, to boot-end up getting wrecked? You virtually NEVER see that happen in this series! The racing after Ross Chastain's crash in particular was really exciting; I was impressed by Ty Dillon powering his way past Kyle Busch and Brad on the outside to take the top spot. Definitely could've won had he not slipped up the next lap and bumped the wall. Felt like 2010 all over again when Kyle and Brad tangled in the final laps. That was all on Kyle as others have said-he was making a move for the lead off turn 2 and tried to slide in front of the #22, but didn't have him cleared all the way and wound up getting himself turned. (Did he even give an interview after the race, or did he storm off to his hauler to sulk afterwards in typical Kyle fashion? Did not see any of the post-race...) Austin Dillon emerging victorious is more than a bit of a bummer considering it's yet ANOTHER win for the Cup brigade (never gets old, does it...?), but overall, the race was pretty fun. Nice to see some long-shots like Clements, Koch, and LaJoie get top 10s. And the final results almost look like a throwback to bygone times...when was the last time we saw cars 5/6/7 laps down come close to scoring top 10s, and cars almost 10 laps down get top 20s? Hopefully the Cup race tomorrow will provide some classic Bristol excitement, as well! 111. I mean just look at here, Fontana and even a winless championship back in 2012. Huh. Not a big fan of the Dillons either. 113. Make note that this is Kyle Busch's second consecutive DNF as well. 114. He dominated three out of the four. He has 15 wins between the Truck and XFINITY Series. He has two championships. Everybody steals a win now and then, it isn't just Dillon. 115. racefangurl posted: 08.20.2016 - 11:15 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) 114, probably just haters. Kyle Busch did give an interview after the wreck. He said he (Brad Keselowski) is a dirty driver. Well said - who wrecked Martin Truex Jr. at Watkins Glen? Who caused a fight at Charlotte and Texas 2014? Yes, Brad Keselowski, the dirty driver. On the other hand, Brad Keselowski was also right, when he said Kyle Busch is a dirty driver at Kansas in Xfinity in 2013, where he wrecked him or at Bristol in Xfinity in 2010, where Kyle retaliated. 112. Well, Richard Childress Racing can't keep up with the Joe Gibbs Racing, so his only chances are stolen wins like this or at Fontana. Anyway, it's still a win. And by the way, he won the Xfinity Series championship in 2013, not 2012. That championship was won by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 113. That reminds me your statistic - everytime Kyle Busch doesn't win in Xfinity, he'll screw up a Cup race. Well, he proved your statistic wrong at Watkins Glen with his 6th place finish. 114. Austin Dillon is not that bad. But he really needs to win at least one Cup race just like Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Both were great drivers in lower series, but are unable to win one race in Cup because of not good equipment of their teams. Names are made in Xfinity Series - Sure, but those names are unable to be good in Cup. And people complain they can't make a name for themselves because of the Buschwhackers. Well, I would rather be not that good in Xfinity, but better in Cup. And without the Buschwhackers, they would definitely win more races there, but still would be horrible in Cup. It doesn't make any difference. I really hope Chase Elliott would be the one to change it, because all champions from 2011 are horrible in Cup. Just one win thanks to Chris Buescher's rain win at Pocono. 117. chevyfan98 posted: 08.20.2016 - 12:32 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Just watched a few clip of the highlights from the race. One thing I'd like to point out that's been bothering me for a while but from what I watched it was particularly bad last night, why are these announcers (especially Rick Allen) so hellbent on always referring to the drivers by their car numbers instead of their names? During the Kyle Busch/Brad Keselowski incident, it was all "the 18" and "the 22." They have names, Rick. Use them. 118. chevyfan98 posted: 08.20.2016 - 12:34 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) "113. A race he should've won if he didn't overdrive turn one on that late restart. So he's still right. 119. Mannoroth posted: 08.20.2016 - 12:52 pm Rate this comment: (0) (2) 118. No, he isn't. That statistic doesn't have anything to do with winning a Cup race. All you have to do is finish solidly in top 10 or top 20, which he did. It would be true, if he didn't finish a Cup race or finish it outside of top 20. Look at his previous races with a Xfinity race not won by Kyle Busch: Fontana - blew a tire, finished 25th Bristol - hit the wall tree times, did not finish in 38th place. Pocono - a contact with Ryan Newman forced him into the wall, finished 31st Michigan - blew an engine, finished dead last (40th) Watkins Glen really doesn't fit in this category... 120. chevyfan98 posted: 08.20.2016 - 12:58 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Your own words were "everytime Kyle Busch doesn't win in Xfinity, he'll screw up a Cup race." "He'll screw up a Cup race." He had Watkins Glen won until he choked by overdriving turn one with around ten to go. So by your own logic, it fits the criteria. 121. Mannoroth is very biased Kyle Busch fan that loves to bad mouth other or drivers or likes to ignore facts as a way to feel good about Kyle Busch. He has bad mouthed other cup drivers being in xfinity series races and truck series races such as Kyle Larson, but has no problems when Kyle Busch enters. He also bad mouth Kevin Harvick on his page on this site for his claims of Kevin choking, but makes up excuses when Kyle Busch does. 122. racefangurl posted: 08.20.2016 - 1:21 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 116, Jimmie Johnson was good in Cup but not the now-Xfinity series. Choking, which is the most overused phrase in sports, is when you give up the lead in a game or race you had won. Kyle was behind Brad when he overdrove the corner, and came out still behind Brad, losing no spots. If you say Kyle choked at Watkins Glen, then you have to say that Brad did too. 124. They are Champions. They are going to have feuds and moments people will talk about. As every drivers, athletes and celebrities have in the past. Getting pretty tiring to read this annoying debate about "Kyle Busch vs the World" everytime I come on here wanting to read something new and interesting. Also Austin Dillon did win the championship in 2013. Had a typo and wasn't thinking I hit 2 instead of the 3 when I said 2012. 125. I didn't even indicate Kyle Busch isn't the only driver I have an issue doing multiple series.
