No wonder, when it's two series against one, which easily makes it 129 vs 38. Was it impressive, when Petty was doing it as well? Even in more dominating fashion in Cup? I really doubt you would be satisfied 40 or 50 years ago... people like war never changes. 64. Jolly Mean Giant posted: 09.10.2016 - 3:13 am Rate this comment: (4) (0) ^Why is Richard Petty the target of your supposed quest to prove everyone's hypocrisy? If anything I feel like you're misdirecting here. Petty did NOT dip excessively into the lower series-99% of his wins came in one NASCAR series. If you REALLY want to expose people complaining about Kyle pwning the lower series...I have no idea why you're not constantly bringing up Mark Martin considering in the '90s he was essentially doing the same thing Kyle is now (crushing lower series fields in superior equipment, albeit back then there was more competitive series-only equipment and he did not run near as many races as Kyle due to their being less companion races, otherwise I get the feeling Mark would have something close to Kyle's Xfinity numbers...). Mark would be the PERFECT choice to prove your point since practically nobody seemed to complain about him back then. (I didn't watch the Busch/Xfinity series back then since very few races aired on network TV which was all I had back then, but I do not think I would enjoyed Mark's domination much more than I do Kyle's-which is to say, not at all). But no, you picked Petty. Makes me think you have some kind of strange agenda to discredit Petty and tout Kyle up as superior to him (in other words along the lines of what ESPN was trying to do). I just don't get you... 65. chevyfan98 posted: 09.10.2016 - 3:23 am Rate this comment: (1) (2) The reason why Mark Martin never gets crap about all his Buschwhacking is the same reason why he never gets crap about driving for nearly a full decade after he said he was retiring. Because Mark Martin can do no wrong according to a lot of fans. 66. Mannoroth posted: 09.10.2016 - 4:57 am Rate this comment: (0) (3) 64. Because he was doing the exact same thing Kyle is doing right now. The only difference is in how it is considered. Would you enjoy Petty or Pearson or Allison or few others winning almost all the races and the weaker drivers winning just 5 races or something like that like in today's Xfinity Series? No, maybe even hell no. There would be a lot of comments like "Petty, let somebody else to win. Another driver from Petty, Pearson and Allison stable winning by many laps..." etc. Like I said before - we can thank media and NASCAR a lot for informing us about it in the way they do it. Then, someone created this Buschwhacker hate and a lot of people were infected by it. And now, we have what we have - hate and hate and... hate. 65. Looks like I finally agree with you. Playing favorites, how simple - I don't like that guy, so that guy is always wrong even if he's sometimes right. That guy hit his opponent again, what a jerk. When his favorite driver does it or someone else he respects - I don't know what was he thinking, but nevermind. Yep... 67. Petty may have won against weaker competition at the time, but it was still in the top stock car racing series and these were still the best stock car racers on the planet. He couldn't have found better competitors because they weren't any. What Kyle does (and I'm not saying he does it to intentionally beef up his win count) is race in series that are established as having lesser competition/less experienced drivers, and as a result, his win count is boosted. You can't make the argument that he got all his victories against the best competition possible, which is why whatever accomplishments he has will never hold a candle to Petty's. 75.
