He has very limited experience, and that's one of the worst cars in the series, so I'd say that's a pretty decent effort. 2. Wonder if he'll continue to win poles to pass Jeff Gordon's 11 poles from way back in 1992. He'll need to win 3 more to tie, but 4 more to pass him with 5 races remaining. Considering Kyle Busch will start two more races as far as we know after this race (Kansas and Phoenix), I'd say it's a 50/50 chance Erik may do it. This will be the second ever Chase race in the Xfinity series as well. Reason I'm saying this is, will Kyle Busch choke in Chase races in the lower series too? Joking. :) 4. Hopefully this doesn't damage the relationship between Fitzgerald (I think they're on the car this weekend) and Penske, I can imagine they'd be disappointed about expecting Logano in the car and getting Blaney instead. The 2014 spring race. Boy that was a fun weekend. I remember it was SNOWING that Saturday morning at our hotel in Roanoke before we went to the track to eventually get washed out. Then on Sunday it got so cold during the truck race my dad wanted to leave but I convinced him to stay. It didn't help that there was a rash of cautions towards the end. 49. I doubt Kyle Joey and Austin would have gotten out of their cars had this happened in the Spring, but it's now clear the owners don't want to wear their drivers out when their playoff hopes are on the line. Moving forward running 2 races on the same day might be the way to go. It would fix Cup guys running in a lot of the lower series races and it could also help NASCAR's attendance problem as I'm sure more fans would come out to watch 2 races on the same day. 50. FS1 and FS2 were not allowed in Canada since TSN and Sportsnet on had the rights to those various sports that were shown on this those channel minus the races. The only truck races I saw on TV that year were the Mosport race on TSN and the Talladega race on FOX. Thank goodness for the introduction of Fox Sports Racing in 2015. Canadian races fans were pissed all of 2014. 51. I don't know much about other drivers' condition, but Kyle Busch has no problem running 2 races in the same day (he even won 2 races (Trucks, Xfinity) in the same day at Fontana in 2010). The same for running 1100 miles in 3 days. So I don't think this will stop him from running half of all races in the season except for the Chase races. And probably not the other Buschwhackers either. And by the way - Buschwhackers in the race or not, it doesn't make a big difference. In the 11 in Trucks, he's generally been the slowest of the drivers to drive that car (the top 5 he got was strategy), and he hasn't been as stellar as Jones or Byron in either Trucks or Xfinity. Good win for Suarez. Shoutout to LaJoie coming in sixth and Yeley in eighth. Just saw the Marks crash, wow that looked bad. 105. murb posted: 10.02.2016 - 5:49 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I want to see what Tifft can do in a full season ride before I fully judge him (and I imagine he WILL get some type of full time JGR or KBM ride next year, either replacing Jones in NXS or Byron in Trucks). At this point though I think he's got some decent potential. I was pretty impressed with his Kentucky NXS top five last week, considering he had to comeback from a kind of BS black flag about midway through the race. And I'll definitely admit Ryan Reed has looked a lot better as of late, but I certainly still don't see him as a future Cup perennial winner or championship contender or anything like that. He'll primarily be another Bayne/Ragan plate specialist, which is fine (I am actually pretty interested to see how he does in the #99 at Talladega since the Fords were really good there in the Spring race). 106. 23andJoe posted: 10.02.2016 - 6:42 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) And this, right here, is what Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity SHOULD be. 107. Meanwhile, the entry list for the Xfinity race at Charlotte is up (with a whopping 45 cars). A few notes: Cole Custer is in the #5; Joey Logano is in the #12; Carl Long is in the #13; Josh Wise is back in the #15; Spencer Gallagher is in the #21 (I wondered what happened to this team); Brad Keselowski is in the #22; Ryan Ellis is in the #25; Timmy Hill is in the #40; Kyle Larson is back in the #42; The #77 and #97 are TBA; Brandon Brown returns with the #86 team; Kevin Harvick is in the #88; Martin Roy is in the #90; Dexter Bean is in the #92; Jeb Burton is back in the #98. 112. Unfortunately it's not even feasible to show up anymore if you don't have good odds at qualifying. Every time a decent-sized entry list comes out, the field fillers start dropping like flies. 113. Mannoroth posted: 10.04.2016 - 10:18 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Really? Penske so desperate of not winning, so they have to put both Logano and Keselowski in another race? And people think Kyle Busch in the race is the worst thing in the world. This is even worse. And Kyle Busch is on entry list instead of Matt Tifft. Looks like he has to replace him to satisfy the sponsor for not running Dover. Can't wait for another Buschwhacker fest. And if Logano wins again, I will laugh out loud - that 22 car is really weak this season. Even KBM with weaker equipment than Penske Racing in Xfinity won a race pretty soon in 2012. 114. I am saying that because there is weather projections right now that have rain for Charlotte Motor speedway on Friday and Saturday. If the Xfinity and the cup series couldn't race before Sunday, that is going force cup teams to take their drivers out of the xfinity race based on what happened at Dover. I am sure Sprint cup teams don't want their chase driver to go 800 miles in a day. 115. CBASS posted: 10.04.2016 - 1:37 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Mario will withdraw the 92, almost guaranteed. Morgan's guaranteed to show up, trying to hit all the races. Victor's just delusional, especially with them having to fix both cars now and no more shoes willing to drive the car (TJ is owed a bunch of money, Harrison had a not-so-friendly split, and Victor screwed over Dylan K. at the start of the season) 116. rm posted: 10.04.2016 - 1:50 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Obaika is so shady, no clue how they keep two cars running - oh wait, they don't really run. Nobody want to drive those shitboxes either so they reach for people we've never heard of (Matt Waltz) or people who haven't driven in a long time (Alli Owens, I think?). Agree with Gosselin withdrawing one of his cars, he usually enters it when they won't have a full field. Interesting that Brandon Brown has GMS support, have not heard anything about that to this point. 117. rm posted: 10.04.2016 - 4:47 pm Rate this comment: (0) (3) Tifft was just announced to drive the 18 this weekend, so the Kyle Buschwhacker circlejerk will have to be put on hold for another week. 118. He linked a lot of very amateur sites, including my teenage site, and introduced people to indie writers many of whom were more interesting than most of today's. Remembering what Jayski used to be (more whimsical and less of a professional news aggregator) I don't care much for it after he sold to ESPN, but good for him that he hit the jackpot with it. 127. And they claimed he will replace Kyle, lol. I bet you would love that, don't you? 128.
