Woohoo... None of the JRM cars were that fast in qualifying but jeez Michael Annett, that's just embarrassing. 2. Larson42 posted: 03.11.2017 - 2:34 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Totally agree. Junior could've put Bowman in that car and won races. But Annettcomes with a sponsor so here he is. Behind the JGL guys. Wow. Another missable race. Kyle will lead 190 or more of 200. And if he doesn't the Penske guys will. Yawn. 2 of 10 done for Busch after today. Bright side. 3. NASCAR needs to do something about him and his team. He is an embarrassment to NASCAR owners. Hardworking guys like Harmon and Shepherd miss out only because of the 97s point position last year. But come next week, that 97 will have a harder time making races. Obaika, either step up your team's game, or get the F**** outta NASCAR 5. Starting in 2018 Cup drivers with three or more years of Cup experience are limited to five Xfinity races per year, they cannot be in the Dash for Cash races and they cannot be in Chase races. On the same lines Cup drivers are limited to three truck races again they are not allowed to be in the Chase races. So what do we think. I should mention that this is not real this is just my thoughts but I believe that this would be about the maximum NASCAR would be willing to do in regards to limiting the involvement of Cup drivers in Xfinity and truck series races. 21. Suburban Shaman posted: 03.11.2017 - 5:41 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) A full on ban is the only real answer. Anything else and the sponsors will do exactly what they are doing now, which is spread the drivers throughout the teams to where they still cover a sizable portion of the schedule. Had to continue this post. I actually agree with Keselowski and his comments a few years ago about NASCAR'S business model, it stinks. If you still want to allow Cup guys, don't let them race in Cup in for the same team they run for in Cuo. I forget who it was that said it's not the Cup guys they can't compete against, it's the Cup equipment. Remember when Kyle ran all the races in 2012 in his own stuff and couldn't win a single race? 26. Maverick19 posted: 03.11.2017 - 5:53 pm Rate this comment: (5) (0) The problem with a full on ban is that the sponsors will all leave. No sponsors = No teams = No NASCAR. But at the same time, what the sponsors want is not good for the sport as a whole, so we have to both appease them but say no at the same time, all while wanting them to stay. In short, NASCAR is corrupt, and the inmates (sponsors) run the asylum. 27. Suburban Shaman posted: 03.11.2017 - 6:05 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) @26 If I could thumbs up this 20 times I would. 28. Three points isn't close to a random enough or large enough sample of laps for the stage points to converge to average running position, but just out and out changing the points system to average running position or the NASCAR driver points might be an improvement over what they are doing here. 69. But those not enough experienced ones can - there are 5 full-time Cup drivers on the entry list for Phoenix (Austin Dillon in the #2, Ty Dillon in the #3, Daniel Suarez in the #18, Erik Jones in the #20 and Ryan Blaney in the #22). Just what I thought - perfect substitution for those races Kyle and his experienced buddies have to skip. It's already well-known that he knew very little about NASCAR, and the subject of racing in general, before being hired by SPEED/FOX. The comment that was referenced above is proof of that. ESPN put the trap out back in 2003 with starting the talk about going to a playoff system, then again in 2006 when they offered a TV contract to the sport that turned out to be a half-arsed production, and NASCAR fell for it, hook, line, and sinker. Hasn't been the same since. Time to start writing the will out for the sport. 76. Looks like this won't be a total domination like in 2016 anymore. Joey Logano makes an occasional start in the other Penske's car and immediately wins, while the primary car struggled again. Why they just don't shut down that 22 team and moves the Discount Tire sponsorship to the 12 team, if they want to win something? Because it's starting to be clear that 22 team is off again - hard to believe this car won 12 times with Keselowski, Logano, Allmendinger and Blaney in 2013... 77.
