Bristol has a very tight pit area, no tunnel for vehicles so all the rigs have to drive across the track, and they showed up just before Cup practice was supposed to begin so NASCAR did not allow them to take a position in the infield. 9. I don't think Annett is the guy we should be bashing right now (not that we should be bashing anyone, but you know what I mean.) There are essentially 12 cars driven full-time at the moment by Xfinity regulars that are top teams with good funding. Theoretically, those 12 should make the 12-driver Chase. However, thanks to strong early-season performances by the underfunded teams of Blake Koch & Dakoda Armstrong, there are currently 2 drivers with top teams on the outside looking in after 7 races: the RCR duo of Brandon Jones (13th) and Brendan Gaughan (15th). Annett is currently 10th. For one of the teams with more funding to miss the chase would be a big disappointment. 68. Considering Koch made the Final Eight in the Chase last year and had a ton of really good runs all year, I don't think so. Yeley 11th and Houff 15th? Yeah, those are impressive. I expect Koch to be running top 15 a lot of times this year. At this point I pretty much have no idea what to make of Michael Annett. He looked legitimate at times in the Petty #43 before he broke his sternum or whatever at Daytona the one time, and then even after that he came back to have more than a few respectable runs for Tommy Baldwin in Cup, but he's now badly floundering again in JRM equipment and a top ten in that car is now considered a great run for him. So I have no idea. In recent memory, I'm not sure I can think of someone in NASCAR that's been harder to pin an opinion down on... 72.
