It's his last scheduled race. The team initially only planned on doing
the first six, but more sponsorship popped up. Hopefully the same thing
can happen again, even if it only gives him a few sporadic runs.

Very interesting that Kyle Busch will skip the Xfinity race at Pocono.
It's the only Cup track along with Watkins Glen, where he's still
winless. Maybe he's not in the rush to check them all off the list...

This race is the first of its kind in that the FOX broadcast team will
be composed entirely of active drivers! The booth will be Kevin Harvick,
Clint Bowyer and Joey Logano, the pit road reporting crew will be Ryan
Blaney, Erik Jones and Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and the pre-race show from
the "Hollywood Hotel" will be Danica Patrick and Denny Hamlin.

^When she was involved in the crash at Kansas that injured Aric Almirola
she had not worry for him at all. All she cared about was that it ruined
her race. She ran after Joey Logano when he couldn't help that he had a
part failure. She was so caught up in herself and how bad her luck was
that she had to be reminded about Aric by the pit reporter! That's a me
me me attitude if I ever saw one. She only cares about herself.

^I don't know for sure but I think they lost their sponsorship from
Vroombrands at the beginning of the year. They looked like an entirely
different team that they did in '15 or '16. I suspect they have quietly
shut down unfortunately. I hope I am wrong but I wouldn't expect to see
them back.

^I know. Eventually if enough field-fillers shut down there won't be a
full field. That's what's happening in trucks, with only 26 entries this
weekend. I hope Nascar extends the charter system to Xfinity and Trucks
so that we will have a decent-sized field at every race. The one good
thing about the charter system in cup is that it guarantees at the least
the 36 charter teams will show up to every race or they will lose their
charter. Nascar considers a full field 36 cars in cup. Spots 37-40 are
kind of extra spots. They should have 34-36 charters in Xfinity and
26-28 in trucks so we will always know we will have a full field for
every Nascar race.

Really close to not having a full field. With #6 shutting down we could
have a race with less than 40 cars, the last time that happened was at
Mid-Ohio in 2014.

Nascar needs to make a package to where anyone can make a car and enter
with a chance to win, or have more restrictor plates because they have a

Qualifying for this race ended up having a notable delay when a fox was
spotted alongside the track near an opening in the inside wall used by
safety trucks. The vulpine spectator then hid in among the barriers
there and the track marshals was not able to get it to come out.
Qualifying was resumed after the marshals piled up bags of speedy dry,
and a net, at the front of the barrier so that the cunning little
critter wouldn't get back on the track until the session was over.

I wonder if that's the same fox who ran across the track during the
IndyCar race here back in 2015. Ironically Pocono uses a fox character
as its track mascot and was already doing so before both these incidents.

I just watched the actual living Fox going inside the inside wall. I
honestly don't like how NASCAR officials were just trying to lure it out
into the net and capture it. It was just sitting there, it was super
adorable watching it lay there and roll on its side. They trapped it
with heavy bags too.

And you wonder why animals are afraid/hate humans. *sigh*

Keselowski beats Larson with the classic last lap pass. Allgaier even
sneaked by for second. Great finish, they raced hard but clean.

This is the second NASCAR Xfinity race at Pocono but the first to run to
the scheduled distance after last year's rain-shortened event. I'd say
the fans got their money's worth.

I'm a fan of the drivers giving commentary even if it comes at the
expense of mising info or calls here and there. I enjoy this kind of
things for NBA and other sports as well.

Erik Jones hopefully has many fruitful years ahead in NASCAR as a driver
but I believe he'll have a career as a broadcaster as well. He did a
great job. As did Blaney.

Reed nine times...

...but he's the one out of a full-time ride next week. I hate the way
this sport works sometimes. Just glad Bubba will get a few weeks in a

In the 46 races in between this and the #22's last win, they finished in

Or, like Dale Jarrett said - "The world went back to normal, Brad
Keselowski won a Xfinity Series race."

I still can't believe how somebody that good in Cup can be winless in
elite equipment in lower series for 19 MONTHS! That's crazy. It was
pretty surprising when Kyle Busch didn't win a race in 2012, but he was
running in his own equipment, which was nothing against Joe Gibbs
Racing. And when Kyle came back to JGR, he won 12 times.
And not just that - even Logano and Blaney had problems to win in that
car. Like it was cursed or something.

Kyle Larson is back in his "choking" days - threw away 2 wins in the
last 2 races. On the other hand, he's running very good both in Cup and
Xfinity, so those another wins should come soon.

And will Kevin Harvick end his 26-month winless streak and catch up to
Mark Martin till his retirement? We'll see...

I wouldn't say that for the XFINITY race. Brad was simply better than
him. 22 had the best car all day.

72. I don't think it's normal to lose 2 spots in 2 turns the same way on
the final lap. But Larson is capable of anything, so I'm not really
surprised. At least that kid is able to win literally everywhere now and
not just occasionally with many starts like in the previous years. He's
slowly becoming the new Kyle Busch of this series - led at least one lap
in each race he started, is able to dominate the races, hasn't finished
outside the top 10 yet, won 3 times and sometimes makes the mistake that
can cost him the win.

That is pretty solid resume for a driver that doesn't run for JGR or
Penske Racing, the dominators of this series. I just hope he doesn't
quit "claim jumping" and get at least the similar number of wins Logano,
Keselowski or Edwards have.

Larson, Busch, Keselowski, Logano, Harvick, Dillon, etc need to stop
running all of these races. Suarez, Jones and Blaney get passes because
they are either in their cup rookie season (Suarez, Jones) or sophomore
season (Blaney).

I don't believe any full-time Cup regular should run any NXS races
whatsoever.

I can understand if they allow Cup newcomers to run some races but
anyone who's got more than let's say three full seasons in Cup should be
ruled ineligible by default.

back from adversity? The guy lost several spots on that restart near the
end, got his stuff together, and then rocketed back toward the front by

I didn't watch the race but I saw the replay of the final laps.

What proof do you have that Kyle Larson choked? Brad Keselowski just
outdueled Kyle Larson and so did Justin Allgaier. Kyle Larson just
wasn't fast enough on the final lap to hold off the two.

To me, Kyle Larson choking mean he slammed the wall or got loosed, but
he didn't do either. He just got straight up defeated fair and square.

74. Do you really think they'll listen to you? Some of them do it for
extra seat time that can help them in their Cup races (Kyle Busch) and
some of the do it just because of their sponsors (Brad Keselowski, Joey
Logano, Ryan Blaney). Or some of them do it just for fun, because they
just like racing anywhere anytime (Kyle Larson & Kyle Busch). Or those 3
reasons at the same time.

And Xfinity Series with Camping World Truck Series need them, otherwise
they could cancel those series almost immediately due to lack of
funding. Cup guys bring money and sponsorship, that's why they were, are
and always will be there (for 35/22 years now). All you had to do is

79. I think you consider losing 2 spots the same way on the final lap as
normal, but I don't. Losing one spot with like 7 to go and another spot
with 3 to go is pretty normal, but not everything on the final lap in
just 2 turns. Did Keselowski and Allgaier time it perfectly to pass
Larson on the final lap? Why didn't they do it sooner? It's a weird
coinscidence that it was on the final lap and especially the fact it was
the same way. That's why I think Larson choked a little. But whatever -
you just have to lose some way and you can't always win.

All that seat time really helped Kyle in 2009 right? I'm sure winning an
xfinity title in a weak field is more important than making the chase
with 4 wins.

Lol extra seat time and fun. They do it for the sponsors and nothing
else. Also people like Blaney and Jones don't need to be there. They're
just there because of the sponsors and nothing else.

84. Weak field? Maybe, but he still had to hold off another superior Cup
driver Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski, who was Xfinity Series regular.
These 3 drivers were almost always separated by no more than 300 points,
which is one win and half margin. One bad race and the other one was
able to catch up to you...

Kyle made a mistake at Daytona blocking Tony Stewart hard. If he didn't
do it, Brian Vickers wouldn't be in the Chase and according to my
calculations, Kyle would finish 5th with his Chase results 275 points back.
And yeah, that tile was important, because only Brad Keselowski, Kevin
Harvick and Bobby Labonte were able to win both Cup and Xfinity titles.
And Bobby wasn't buschwhacking.

Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano and Clint Bowyer were the commentators. Ricky
Stenhouse Jr., Ryan Blaney and Erik Jones were the pit road reporters.
Danica Patrick and Denny Hamlin were in the Hollywood hotel. This race
is known as drivers only.
