Danish Pie posted: 08.25.2017 - 8:48 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Piggy backing off of what @14 pointed out, here is how the manufactures are spread amongest the field: Dodge: 2 (72, 74) Ford: 5 (00, 16, 22, 40, 98) Toyota: 7 (13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 24, 28) Chevrolet: 28 (0, 01, 07, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 17, 21, 23, 33, 39, 42, 46, 48, 51, 52, 62, 77, 78, 90, 93, 99) It is funny how most of the field filler and underfunded teams use Chevy, but to be fair JR Motorsports, RCR, GMS, and Ganassi all use Chevrolet as well. So Chevrolet has a lot of cars in the field compared to the other manufacturers either way, but it's more than doubled with the second half of the field, which is a bit odd. If it wasn't for Mike Harmon's Dodge and Carl Long's assortment of different cars, more than 3/4 of the field would be Chevrolet. 38. Nicolas Hammann still says on twitter he is racing but doesn't say what car so either RR is wrong and he will be in the #74 Dodge or he could be in another car such as the #90 Chevrolet, the #72 Dodge or the #93 Chevrolet. 39. Rookies will win, if they have the will to fight hard. Anyway, I can't remember any other finish like this, where both leading cars spun out, one of them was able to get back up to speed quicker and then win the race. I only remember Kyle Busch, who spun out at Watkins Glen in 2008 in Xfinity while leading and he was able to keep the lead. He didn't win the race, though. 235. I can't even remember. 238. John posted: 08.28.2017 - 1:16 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I'm talking only NASCAR 239. That and whoever held the record of most starts without a Cup top 10 finish (held by Cole Whitt right now) are among the two old records that's a mystery. 240. I know there was a finish of the 1976 Daytona 500 like this, but that was 41 years ago. Anything was possible back then... 242. You only like it when Kyle Busch is somehow involved and like to trash anything that happened pre-Kyle Busch era. 243. most1305 posted: 08.28.2017 - 10:37 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Very happy with the winner of this one but this race was quite dull by the standards set in other years. Also, why not qualify on rain or let them choose which tires. Why not throw some strategy into it, let the teams choose what they want to do with the tires. 244. Louis Clements was the crew chief & co-owner of Rex White's championship-winning #4 car in 1960. This is so cool. 249.
