With many drivers and their families staying out west during NASCAR's
early season swing a lot are taking advantage of area activities. Driver
Justin Allgaier for instance took his family to Disneyland in the week
leading up to this race. One imagines his #7 Hellmann's Chevrolet is
still the most "E-Ticket" ride he'll have this week though...

Wth the relative lack of speed in RCR the last 2 years, I think it's
gonna be everyone against Logano in this race. I have a good feeling
Preece, Bell, or a JRM car can get it done.

newest videogames on the hood. And for a gamer like me, it's cool to see
win that car with Call of Duty - Black Ops 2 (Logano won at Charlotte in

I would be really cool to have GameStop as a primary sponsor and running

@13 What a very unnecessarily aggressive response. First of all, someone
*clearly* does care, otherwise it wouldn't have been brought up.
Secondly, it's always very cool to *totally* dismiss something outright
because you don't like or understand it. And thirdly, being upset by
Youtubers making a career out of whatever particular niche they choose
to carve is certainly a weird thing to waste your energy on, especially
when they're helping sponsor an underfunded driver who -- by all
accounts -- has a fair amount of talent.

to date apart from other lists. So if you have some favorite driver
there, you can enjoy all his wins from those 3 series.

No matter what, you have to give it to them for getting themselves on

The "Roseanne" sponsoring this race is, incredibly, the ABC sitcom
despite the fact this race is airing on Fox Sports 1 (My money says they
won't mention the name of the race on the broadcast). The TV show aired
from 1988 to 1997 but is being revived with new episodes that starting
airing March 27. Michael Fishman, who plays "D.J." on the show will be
the grand marshal.

If this race suddenly stops three-fourths of the way in to reveal the
last 50 laps were all a dream then restarts in 2038 now you know why...

Actually Disney's pending buyout of Fox is only for its entertainment
assets so FOX Sports, the FOX TV channel, and FOX News are not included
(likely to avoid anti-trust issues since Disney already owns ESPN, ABC,
and ABC's news assets and they'd likely get the deal blocked by the Feds
as a monopoly if they added those). Still a weird sale and you are right
about many of FOX's assets about to be intertwined with ABC.

NASCAR just told the Xfinity teams that if they fail qualifying
inspection and don't turn a lap in the session they will start the race
from the rear and will have to do a drive-thru penalty on the first
green flag lap.

this track, so they had to make it so that the Cup series drivers who'll
go out before time expires, will get a good qualifying start. NASCAR is

Punishing drivers in a lower series because the Cup boys botched things
up in a major way yesterday. Brilliant.

There are some media shills who apparently understand things only in the
most oversimplified terms like "Stop trying to cheat and inspection will
go faster! This is 1000000000% on the teams and not one tiny bit
NASCAR's fault!"

But check the actual reasons why teams are failing and it's NASCAR
micromanagement that's making the process overly slow or difficult.
Nobody is suggesting that the teams have NO responsibility for this
debacle, but the oversimplified-shill explanation isn't quite accurate
either.

Joey Logano wins the race. It's his third win at Fontana but his first
since 2012 and his first in the Penske #22 Ford.

This is the first win for Penske Racing at Auto Club Speedway, a track
it should be noted that Roger Penske BUILT back when he still owned a
few speedways. I'm surprised it took this long. Logano's win is also the
first for a Ford driver here since Matt Kenseth won here in 2007.

Kaz Grala crashed on the final lap of this race battling with Ryan Truex
and Brandon Jones for 12th place. Truex had 12th all but locked up but
Grala and Jones got together racing behind him and it ended with Grala's
#24 Ford going for a wide ride down the frontstretch. He hit the grass
and his splitter dug in, causing series damage to the car and causing
him to get a little air just before crossing the finish line 24th. He
then shot across the track, bounced off the outside wall, and came to a
stop just before hitting the inside wall.

You're right. I should have clarified that this is Penske's first
Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity series victory here as they do have prior Cup
wins. Will Power also got the Captain an IndyCar win here in 2013.

Dash 4 Cash, standalone and playoff races - where are you when we need
you? Only you can save us from more a-holes complaining nothing has
changed again and from another strict limits to 5 Xfinity and 3 Truck
races (because NASCAR suddenly listen to the fans). And then the same in
2020 to 3 Xfinity and 2 Truck races and then permanent ban, which will
kill this series along with Trucks.

And why? Because of people who just don't get it that this buschwhacking
problem doesn't have any solutions. Only limits can reduce it, so just
keep it as it is, for Christ sake... But that won't happen most
probably, because more people on one side always win in the democratic
world (and it doesn't matter, if they are right or not)...

I'm not going to lie, I just check the results on later Saturdays or
Sunday mornings for these Xfinity races. Otherwise I don't bother with
this series at all except the Homestead races. I'll tune in during the 6
Playoff races but I don't pay much attention to them. This series is
kinda... messed up statistically in my opinion.

70. No, not at all. I was actually fine with the former 10-race limit
and I'm still satisfied even with 7-race limit. It's necessary to have
them, when there's a playoff in Xfinity and Trucks. But when Cup drivers
keep winning despite those limits, many brainless people will still
complain no matter what that nothing has changed. But that change will
take effect soon with those Dash 4 Cash, standalone and playoff races.
You just have to be patient, but many people are clearly not...
People can be really insatiable, when they say that 15 Xfinity races won
by Xfinity driver will be cool. It doesn't have to be cool, when it
happens and they may want more and more. So really can't wait for those
future 5-race, 3-race etc limits, because Cup drivers will never stop
winning in this series, unless you completely ban them, which will kill
this series. So hard to understand, I guess...

I think Nemechek was probably just a filler on the entry form for some
reason. JDM's Facebook does say Mills will drive the 15 this week.
However, I wouldn't be surprised if Mills gets replaced if he doesn't
turn around his performances soon. His average finish (34.5) is worse
than Chastain's (14.4), Smithley's (20.8) and Miller's (27.0.) Joe
Nemechek also finished 23rd in his one start for the team. 4 cars seems
like a lot for a team this small to run, but I guess the performance
hasn't really dropped off that much so what do I know.

I do think Vinnie does have a better chance than Mills right now. Miller
at least has been consistent, he's finished almost all of his races. The
one thing I'm going to say about him, I don't think moving him up to
Xfinity after so few starts was such a great move.

To those reading a few years down the road the revival of "Roseanne"
that aired after this race was something of a hit, it drew good ratings
at the start although they were starting to tank afterward, but while a
second season renewal was announced the show was abruptly cancelled
after titular star Roseanne Barr used Twitter to make racist remarks
about Obama administration senior advisor Valerie Jarrett.

Rumor has it that NASCAR didn't really want this race named after
Roseanne Barr to begin with, but offers to have the event sponsored by
Joy Behar, Bill Maher or Keith Olbermann were declined, so they went
with the next-best thing.

It can't be worse than the "Keep the Berlin Wall Standing 300" back in
October 1989, where everyone raced a red Trabant sponsored by the
one-party state government.

Weirdly the show is now being continued for a second without the titular
Roseanne as "The Connors," after the family's name on the show. Do you
think we can get ABC to sponsor the 2019 running of this race as "The
Connors 300?"
