And I especially hope they let him run Talladega, because he can still contend there (which I'm not sure Mills could.) 4. No. Brandon Brown and his family were already scheduled to use the #90 owners points in several races like they did last year. 6. 23andJoe posted: 04.17.2018 - 3:04 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) >Track name should be listed as "Richmond Raceway." "Richmond International Raceway". It was named that since its construction, but last year they decided to shorten and simplify the name. (I assume they didn't ask the Kentucky track its opinion first.) 11. High standards. As for the finish, Bell won but not without a strong fight from his teammate Noah Gragson, who dogged the #20 for the final 10 laps or so and even got to his bumper a few times. Ultimately, Gragson fell back and was unable to become the first driver to win their Xfinity debut since Kurt Busch in 2006. 29. NewJack posted: 04.21.2018 - 12:48 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Didn't watch the race, and from the lack of comments, most people didn't either. I did have the leaderboard up on nascar.com and saw Mrakovich was still on the lead lap at Lap 200. So he actually did a fairly decent job, though by the end of the race he was 7-8 MPH a lap slower than the leaders. 37. Mannoroth posted: 04.21.2018 - 3:57 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) 29. That meaningless prize is the reason why no Cup driver can be in this race, so you should be thankful... But no, something is still wrong (as usual for insatiable people)... Anyway, JGR is back as they win back-to-back. And they even have a double from this race. 38. possum posted: 04.21.2018 - 11:23 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) @10 - actually, at the time of it's construction it was known as "Strawberry Hill Raceway". For most of it's life it was known as the Richmond Fairgrounds Raceway. It didn't pick the "International" until the fairgrounds property was sold to ISC around the turn of the century. Piece of trivia: Richard Petty hated the track when it was a half-mile, for some reason, and was given the honor of driving the bulldozer to tear up the pavement when it was lengthened. 39. JSPorts posted: 04.21.2018 - 11:55 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I wonder why Petty hated it. He won there 13 times. 40. Bad Booking posted: 04.21.2018 - 3:27 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) The lap 64 caution is one of those "why the heck was that a caution" when Bilicki went up the track and barely kissed the wall, car didn't even look like he hit it, but alas. Great run by both Bell and Gragson, the two put on a great duel for the win that showed what not having Cup drivers in the field is like. That being said, no knock against Gragson, but Ryan Preece should have been in the car on the house from Gibbs for the D4C win last week at Bristol. 41. Karl posted: 04.21.2018 - 7:08 pm Rate this comment: (0) (2) I've got a way to fix the Cup leeches problem: You must declare to run one series, and cannot run any races in other series. Win totals in the cup series and championships in all series can dictate which series you run: If you are a former Truck series champion or have 5 career cup wins, you can only run Xfinity or Cup. If you are a former Xfinity series champion or have 10 wins in the cup series, you can only run Cup. 42. GoPM21 posted: 04.21.2018 - 7:35 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) @41 So, if you're say, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., once you win the Xfinity Championship, you have to move to Cup? What if you're fired from your Cup ride? You're done racing? 43. Chives5150 posted: 04.21.2018 - 8:04 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Gragson's run the last 20 laps or so was really fun to watch. Bell thought he was clear from Gragson and then Gragson all of the sudden was 3 car lengths behind him and made him earn it. 44. Karl posted: 04.21.2018 - 8:49 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) What do you guys think of my Cup leeches proposal? 45. Mannoroth posted: 04.22.2018 - 12:10 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) 42. Easy, just some other idiotic idea... He doesn't understand that money talks and those drivers just have to be there from time to time, otherwise the series can't exist anymore. 46. Karl posted: 04.22.2018 - 6:41 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 42. Not necessarily but you have to find another team that will pick you up, or create your own team. 45. If you are developed enough that you can compete on the cup series tour, that's where you belong. 47. Mannoroth posted: 04.23.2018 - 7:04 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) 46. And you can see it doesn't work that way - almost all the drivers raced at least once in some Xfinity and Truck race after becoming a full-time Cup driver or after winning a Cup title. It has been normal for 36 years, so get used to it... 48. Karl posted: 04.23.2018 - 8:18 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Mannoroth, let me ask you a question? Does anyone applaud Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Brad Keselowski, and Joey Logano for stealing wins from Xfinity Series prospects? No. Was anyone appreciative of Kyle Busch when he won the Xfinity series title in 2009? No. My proposal will help put a STOP to cup leeches. 49. GoPM21 posted: 04.23.2018 - 9:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @46 and with the charter system, it doesn't work. Look, I'm no fan of it, but your idea simply isn't sustainable. 50. Mannoroth posted: 04.25.2018 - 12:56 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) 48. The limits we have now are more than enough - Cup drivers will win something just like those series regulars. You're just like NASCAR - you have to change everything, when it's working fine... And to your question - yes, a lot of people (just look at Facebook to some driver's pages). Why? Because that's what fans do - they cheer for their driver, when he races no matter the series. So racers race, haters hate. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
