It's a sad ending now. This is unbelievable. I don't want to think Spencer is a bad guy, or a spoiled brat... But this is some Jeremy Mayfield level stuff here (Except I think Mayfield is an innocent man, compared to Gallagher). One of the saddest things I've ever seen. 15. Ultimate Warrior #18 posted: 05.02.2018 - 1:20 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Spencer made a mistake at possibly the worst time. Just couple weeks ago the Airline company was under fire for poor run Aircrafts. Then he gets his big win at Talladega then a drug abuse suspension. My assumption will say Johnny Sauter will drive the car at Dover and Charlotte but after that it will be a toss up. But another likely candidate could be Brennan Poole. 16. Then the Xfinity series has two weeks off, and we'll just have to wait and see how long this Road to Recovery goes on. Based on how long it took A.J. Allmendinger to get reinstated in 2012, which was almost 2 months, it looks like Sauter will be doing double duty until Chicagoland in June at the earliest. The only exception to this I think will be Michigan, since Sauter has to race in the Trucks at Texas the night before. 26. #BowmanNation posted: 05.02.2018 - 9:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (3) Suspending him is one thing. Unfortunately I can see Michael Annett *eventually* passing them both and holding off the drivers behind him in lesser equipment for the final playoff spot. Then again, we still have one more plate race (Ryan Sieg?) and the road courses for someone unexpected to bump someone out. 107. When calculating Chase eligibility, from here on out, Gallagher should be invisible and not even considered. Chastain still holds the last playoff spot for the moment. 109. Childress, Gibbs, and Roush all got tired of that. Now he's at JRM he seems to have accepted that a steady and competitive ride in Xfinity is a better deal for him than struggling to compete in Cup. He is a pretty good driver, but with only maybe 20 decent rides in Cup, he's not good enough to justify getting one of those seats. 111. They could have an illegal car but it doesn't matter. Whoever does the burnouts and victory lane celebration is the winner. The only penalty is non-automatic chase qualification. 118. But only 2 are locked in (Bell, and Reddick) while Allgaier win was encumbered and Spencer Gallagher is eliminated entirely from the playoffs, my bet would be Sadler, Cindric (road course) and Hemric win a race sometime during the season. 120. I think 1-2 of Sadler, Hemric, Custer, Jones or Cindric will likely win a race this year. If I had to put money on it, I'd say Cindric will win at Road America. Bell will likely win more than once. Allgaier could get another, but I don't know. I think those two are the only guys with realistic shots to have multiple victories before the playoffs unless someone else with a victory wins at Daytona or Cindric wins more than one road course race. 122. #BowmanNation posted: 05.09.2018 - 11:15 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) While there is no doubt that Cindric is the favorite for the road courses, it would question Sadler and Hemric, but I do think that Sadler would be a favorite for Daytona and Michigan 123. Outside of those 3, I would peg Cindric to win a road course, Sadler to finally break through and win somewhere, and Custer OR Hemric snagging one. I don't think the July Daytona race will get a surprise winner; I just have a feeling a Cup driver is gonna get it. 125. Mannoroth posted: 05.10.2018 - 1:20 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) 117. It's because that the winner should be able to celebrate his win at Victory Lane. And another reason that the fans should know who won the race, not to find out that the winner was DQed 3 days later, so the 2nd place car is the real winner, but he can't celebrate his win at VC anymore... NASCAR used to be more strict at this, but I bet it's not that much satisfying, when you find out you won the race on your way home like Mark Martin in 1995, when Dale Jarrett was DQed at Michigan. The same for athletes, who were DQed for doping. It's really "cool" to get a gold medal a few years later... 126. I'll take this version of the series over the 2006-2010 version of it. This series is once again for reloading with talent just not enough quality teams and sponsorship money. Just imagine adding Preece, Nemechek, Kyle Benjamin, Briscoe, Majeski to full Time rides and sprinkle some veterans like Hornish, Kligerman and Regan Smith this series would gain back popularity in a heartbeat. As far as potential winners this year Cindric yea maybe on a road course if he doesn't overdue it. Custer maybe Hemric hopefully. 127. American auto racing (specifically, NASCAR and IndyCar) is the only sport on the planet with this approach. Using this logic, students should be allowed to cheat on exams, too. All other sports, even foot racing and F1, have fans who can accept that the winner was illegitimate. Even in hockey, if they decide that another player tipped the puck in, they'll change it hours after the fact. You cheat at the short track? Disqualified. You cheat at Le Mans? Disqualified. You cheat at Monaco? Disqualified. You cheat at the Tour de France? Disqualified. It might not be as "satisfying," but it's justification. 129. "students should be allowed to cheat on exams, too". Don't know how it is in United States, but here in Europe, it's absolutely normal like going to the shop to buy something. And even most of the teachers don't give a damn. It's pretty sad, because I got over 1500 ones (or As) in my entire elementary and grammar school career that lasted 13 years and I've never cheated during some test. "You cheat at the Tour de France? Disqualified." I would be pretty careful with this in cycling... Almost all elite cyclists doped before the 21st century (especially Eddy Merckx who won 298 professional races and 525 races in his entire career) and no one is going to DQ them. Why? Because it was a long time ago and they would have to DQ almost everyone. Today's cyclists have just one big disadvantage and that's the modern era of the 21st century, where everything is checked properly. 130. JSPorts posted: 05.10.2018 - 10:01 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I don't understand how the logic follows that students should be allowed to cheat on exams. And it certainly doesn't follow for the Tour de France, where there have been illegitimate winners who just haven't been caught (and everyone knows it.) Allgaier's team was found in violation of a rule, so they took away his playoff points and automatic playoff qualification, as well as some of his total points. Each one of those things will have an impact down the road. That's 6 playoff points from this race (plus the potential for more if his 25-point penalty makes him end up lower than he would've at the end of the regular season.) 131.
