He's won over 25% of his career starts in Xfinity, so that would be about 1/4. I see Matt Mills is back in the #15. Interesting. I expect Kyle Busch, Paul Menard and Chase Elliott to battle this one out for the win. I'll take Busch 1st, Elliott 2nd & Menard 3rd. 4. Hasn't anyone noticed that CHASE ELLIOTT will be in this race? This seasoned Cup veteran in a top-of-the-line Maury Gallagher machine has to be the obvious favorite to win on Saturday, while poor Kyle has to make do with those junkyard clunkers from Joe Gibbs. He'll be lucky to finish ahead of Morgan Shepherd. 8. #BowmanNation posted: 05.29.2018 - 6:19 pm Rate this comment: (1) (1) Trust me Kyle Busch will win this race. I bet it 9. Anonymous posted: 05.29.2018 - 7:03 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) I think it's the same areo and plate package they used in last years Xfinity race at Indy, and Kyle Busch definitely didn't win. The previous Xfinity races at Indy had 6,9,8, and 2 lead changes respectively. Last years race had sixteen lead changes, almost double the previous record. Since it's obvious that Nascar is not going to start cutting big tracks from the schedule and go back to short tracks, this may be the next best thing. 11. That's just that stupid mentality: Kyle Busch on the entry list for a lower series race = he wins. Well, it doesn't work this season and you can clearly see JGR isn't that dominant anymore in Xfinity. It's pretty crazy he has 4 Cup wins and just 1 lower series win (Las Vegas in Trucks) after 1/3 of the season. It was always exactly vice versa - even last year, he already had 3 lower series wins. I think it has something to do with the fact he has so many Xfinity wins and when you're coming to 100, you start to slow down unintentionally a little. Michael Schumacher never got over 91 wins, Jeff Gordon ended his career with 93 wins, Valentino Rossi doesn't have even 90 MotoGP wins... It doesn't look like, but it's pretty hard to get 100 wins in some series. 18. Yep, back in the saddle. We enjoyed those Cup driver free lower series races, but those limits are about some compromise, so complaining like a fool is useless... You have to know that Cup drivers will win some races just like the regulars. Still surprised that some people still wonder... And by the way, it's currently 6-5 for Cup drivers, which is a nice number for 1/3 of the season. A lot better than 33-2 like in 2006... 22. JSPorts posted: 06.02.2018 - 9:19 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) Yes, there are fewer Cup winners now than there were in 2006. You always make that comparison, but it doesn't change the fact that the problem still exists. I can use a football/baseball/basketball/hockey analogy for it, but this is racing, not stick-and-ball sports. But how many IndyCar drivers do you see driving in the Road to Indy program? How many F1 drivers do you see driving in the feeder series for that league? The best way for NASCAR to fix this situation would be implementing a system where each driver gets a certain number of lower-series races based on their previous year's points finish. So Kyle Busch would get 2 races to split between the Xfinity & Truck Series. Paul Menard was 23rd in points last year, so he would get 23 races. He could run the full Truck schedule, if he wanted to. Cole Whitt was 33rd, so he could run the full Xfinity Series, if he wanted too. If a driver changes series designation, obviously this rule would change (if Kyle Busch decided he wanted to run full-time Xfinity or Trucks, he would just switch his series designation.) I'd even be OK with drivers earning points in the lower series if they're not guys who get the opportunity to compete up front in Cup each week. Running the lower series is a good way for those guys to bring visibility to smaller teams and supplement their incomes, while for guys like Busch, Keselowski, Harvick, Blaney, Larson & Logano, it's just a way to help their egos. 24. Corey posted: 06.02.2018 - 10:15 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) @21 You are forgetting that 4 of the races were the dash 4 cash events where the cup guys weren't allowed to race. Number 5 came at Daytona. So for non-dash, non-plate races, the cup guys are 6 for 6. 25. JSPorts posted: 06.02.2018 - 10:27 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) That's to be expected, though. Not only are the Cup guys generally better (or at least more experienced) drivers, they drive for the top teams with the most funding and the best pit crews. That's not really a recipe of success for the Xfinity guys. There are currently 15 full-time Xfinity cars that are affiliated with Cup teams. Out of those 15, 10 of them are driven full-time by Xfinity regulars. But look who makes up that list: Elliott Sadler & Justin Allgaier, two guys who couldn't cut it in Cup (so obviously they won't beat the Cup guys.) Michael Annett, who fits the same category, but worse; Matt Tifft, Ryan Reed & Brandon Jones, three drivers who don't have a whole lot of talent but have the money to land top rides. So that leaves 4 guys - Christopher Bell, Cole Custer, Daniel Hemric & Tyler Reddick - who may have a shot at the win. But again, they've got a lot less experience than the Cup guys do. Hemric drives for RCR, which isn't as strong as it once was in Xfinity or Cup. Bell, Reddick & Custer drive for more competitive teams, but Bell & Reddick are rookies that are mistake-prone. But still...4 Xfinity guys max have a shot every week. 26. Not saying that Morgan is a bullet himself, but he is a guy who just needs a break. Morgan is currently 49th in standings, and Harmon is 44th. So you need to be in the top 45 to be locked in? Mannoroth posted: 06.02.2018 - 12:05 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) 23. I know about your idea to fix this problem, but your system doesn't treat all the Cup drivers the same way, so one bad season for a elite Cup driver and he's suddenly allowed to race like 17 lower series races and while other elite Cup drivers finished way higher in the standings in Cup, that elite Cup driver won't have almost any competition, will win most of his races and everyone will be unsatisfied again (especially if that happens to Kyle Busch). I even saw some other variants of this solution, but the best of them is probably from a user on Reddit called WedAms - let's ban all the Cup drivers no matter the experience in all Dash 4 Cash races, superspeedway races, playoff races and standalone races. That gives every Cup driver approximately 15 races, but the same races for all of them. That means not all Cup drivers can run each race, because their teams aren't set for it plus it would be pretty difficult to win with a lot of competition. It treats all the Cup drivers the same way and it also prevents all the Cup drivers to use up their current maximum number of races, so they can't divide it and ruin more races, just those selected ones. More info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/NASCAR/comments/7kstwa/perfect_cup_driver_limits_for_xfinity_trucks/ 24. That's exactly why those limits are there - not only to prevent more Cup drivers ruining series regulars' chances for a good finish, not only to prevent Kyle from winning another 10 races and easily get to 100 Xfinity wins, but it's a nice compromise. One side of the barricade will win something, the other side of the barricade will win something and the championship will be decided just between the series regulars in the system called "Playoffs". 33. He has an excellent avg. finish of 4.8 even with Cup drivers (and with Penske/JGR teams in Cup-quality equipment too) in the mix nearly every race. That's very impressive to be "best of the rest" as often as he has. It's strange that none of the current top 3 in the Xfinity standings have a win yet, however drivers 4 through 6 do have a win apiece. Sadler has only a meager 3 playoff points to work with as well, though no series regular is exactly dominating that category, and even as good as he has been if he falters just a little bit he may be in some trouble. Besides, no matter how big a lead in pointless non-playoff points Sadler builds in the "regular season", he's still no better than even-money to hold off Christopher Bell for the championship. 55. Height rule violations are the most typical reason why car fails inspection. Plus, they don't measure it in the Cup, just in Xfinity and Trucks. It can be intentional, it doesn't have to be. Doesn't matter - Kyle's win at Pocono is official and now, there's no track except the new Charlotte Roval in Cup that he hasn't won at in Cup, there's no track from Cup in Xfinity that he hasn't won at and there's no active track in Trucks that he hasn't won at and where he made a start. Plus, there's also no track that hosts 3 races in all 3 series, where Kyle hasn't won yet - Pocono was the last. And 2018 won't be that season where he goes winless with KBM or Joe Gibbs Racing, but don't worry - it has to come some day... 68. Don't know, but it isn't a high number. I remember KBM had a problem in Trucks in 2014 to set everything up correctly and Kyle failed inspection at least 3 times from his 7 wins. But I don't think it was an intentional cheating... I would say just an attempt to set everything on the edge of rules, but they almost always missed it by a little margin. Kyle is not Harvick who has a need to cheat, when things don't go his way... Dover and Talladega 2015 would like to have a word with Harvick. 70. Damn, you're good. But you didn't guess it in his 3 previous starts, so you're 1-3... 76. The Cup drivers can manipulate the cars or trucks without having anything to significant to lose/consequences. It's a major turnoff for fans. It will continue as long as NASCAR allows drivers to keep wins and/or let them continue to race in the lower series. It's "really cool" to find out you're the true winner after the race, because someone was cheating/used doping - just ask some athletes or cyclists... Because I'm not as simple as you are... cheating is not just cheating no matter what - there are lug nut violations that don't have anything to do with the driver of the car, because he can't get off his vehicle and change the tires by himself (he has to count on his team that they do it properly). Then height violations are those typical violations lower and it's not just Kyle who failed that kind of inspection... Ask Penske, for example. And then, there are those serious violations like illegal engine (yes, Richard Petty, I'm talking about you), illegal fuel (Right, Michael Waltrip?) etc. Kyle has never failed post-race inspection for really serious violations in NASCAR... 80. If only those stupid fans saw what Petty and other top contenders had in their cars, I'm sure they would behave differently... "It will continue as long as NASCAR allows drivers to keep wins and/or let them continue to race in the lower series." And what are they supposed to do with it? Ban them completely? Okay, but don't wonder why Xfinity and Trucks will die soon, then... "It's why the majority of fans consider Kyle Busch's and others that have won in the Xfinity a Joke." That's not true. Even series regulars "manipulate" with their cars to be better, so don't blame just those Cup drivers... Ask Allgaier who got a cucumber, for example. "It's why the majority of fans consider this "chase for 200 NASCAR wins" a Joke." Only fans that don't understand it, consider it that way. But if they looked properly at Petty's carrier, which they don't, they would understand... 81. He does hate Kyle Busch, but I don't think on 100 % - just read those comments on their forum called The Spotter's Stand (especially in the lower series races Kyle wins/doesn't win). Sometimes it's a fun to read it, but sometimes they are pretty crossing the line... They just act like a regular haters, nothing else - orgasm that he has a problem and won't win or really depressed that he won another meaningless lower series race. Sometimes they even use a rude word - I also have some drivers I hate, but I definitely don't use really rude works to criticize them... 83. Go to a park, get out of the house; unless you're Kyle Busch in disguise, the man shouldn't be that big a part of your life. 84. Mannoroth posted: 06.03.2018 - 12:37 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) 83. I'm absolutely calm - my heart rate didn't even go up... Besides, I already got out of the house for a walk. Time zones... there isn't any noon. Anyway, Kyle Busch confirmed that he will add Michigan to his Xfinity schedule, so he will be in #18 next week as well. It was pretty weird, because when Kyle doesn't use the maximum amount of starts he can, it's strange. And in all the cases, there were always some schedule extensions. He probably wants to end your suffering quickly - that's why he's adding a start to the maximum to get that 100th win faster. But he already missed 3 opportunities, so I guess it won't happen that quickly... 85. Ryan posted: 06.03.2018 - 2:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @82 Notice that I said the majority of fans... Not blind ones like you or ones that have to have Kyle Busch glasses 86. What's the matter - it really is suffering for many people, especially on Facebook or YouTube... But don't worry, those nightmares will end soon, hopefully. 88. Talk about a #9 day he had on Saturday. 89. This race was the Pocono Green 250 Recycled by J. P. Mascaro & Sons 90. rm posted: 06.26.2018 - 2:26 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 15 sponsor - Flex Seal 91.
