Mike Harmon will definitely have him or another driver behind the wheel of the 74, (possibly McLeod again, with his 8 and 78 filled by other drivers) and unless something drastic happens, the other 39 cars should be set in stone. NXS debuts for both Riley Herbst and Justin Haley. Stan Mullis is making his second Xfinity start, the first since the Iowa race last July, where he also drove for Carl Long, piloting the #40 TLC Vacations / Casablanca Express Chevy to a 32nd place finish, 13 laps down. (TLC Vacations will once again be Mullis' sponsor for this race. Blake Jones is also making his second career start, the first coming in the September Kentucky race of 2016, where he drove the 15 for Rick Ware. Jones wound up 35th after making hard contact with Joey Gase on lap 78. Jones was 4 laps down at the time. 5. 34McDowellFan posted: 06.12.2018 - 10:16 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Debut for Riley Herbst and Justin Haley Blake Jones making his first start since 2016 No JGL Racing Riley Herbst already has a driver page 6. Majeski had good speed in the 60 last year at Iowa. With how the 60's year has gone so far though, it seems whoever is at the wheel is more likely to get caught up in a wreck than contend for a top 10. 15. 34McDowellFan posted: 06.13.2018 - 12:08 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @13 Labbe only has 2 DNF's this season (Charlotte he also had one, but Josh Williams had taken over), and both of them were because of the splitter 16. Also, I've been super impressed with the #61 team. They have produced some SERIOUS results for a brand spanking new team. Maybe we might see another whacky Iowa race where a few underdogs are in the top 10 in the late stages like last year. 20. JSPorts posted: 06.13.2018 - 8:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I'm not sure where the hate for Labbe is coming from. He's got the best average-finish for DGM Racing ever (for a driver who's started more than 1 race in a season.) @19, I couldn't agree more about Herbst. I don't think he's untalented, but the fact that he's got the best equipment in ARCA and has just one win doesn't say a whole lot to me. I believe Gragson, Todd Gilliland or Harrison Burton would all be more deserving. Even someone like Spencer Davis has shown more at a higher level. 21. rm posted: 06.13.2018 - 8:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) The best equipment doesn't mean a ton if you don't have the best team to field it... They might have the best equipment, I don't know how to measure that really, but MDM is a league above everyone else in ARCA, with Venturini being the only team that comes close. I'd put JGR and Mason Mitchell on equal footing in ARCA. As for Herbst's merit, that's definitely up for debate, but I'll wager that he'll surprise people. Whether he surprises them by running 3rd or getting in 3 wrecks, I'm not sure, because either seems likely. 22. Wil posted: 06.14.2018 - 11:39 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Herbst being "promoted" to race a JGR Xfinity car is everything that's wrong with the series. I get that people are being nice by not ripping his ARCA results, but let's call a spade a spade--he's awful. I can't believe the #60 for Roush is 30th in owner points driving the full schedule. That's embarrassing, although there have been plenty of accidents that aren't of their making that they've been caught up in. Still, when you run in the 12-20 range every week, you're obviously more likely to be in an accident. Cindric finished 23rd at Michigan last week, and I can't remember him ever cracking the top 15. With the Cup guys off and mediocre drivers driving the big name cars, this could be a good weekend for a guy like JH Nemechek or Daniel Hemric (I hope) to pull off a win. Bell has to be the odds on favorite. 30. Anonymous posted: 06.14.2018 - 12:41 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Guys Herbert doesn't have the best equipment. Iowa's track length is .875 miles, exactly between the lengths of Richmond and Dover and they are both 400 lap races. Would be 350 miles. I've been hoping that the Cup series would run here since the track was opened. 36. possum posted: 06.14.2018 - 6:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Well, given the unending chorus from johnny-come-lately fans that the races are "too long", and that NASCAR seems to agree, I'm going to guess they'd make it a 354 lap race. John Hunter Nemechek is currently 14th in xfinity series points, despite not running the entire schedule. I know you must have attempted all of the races to qualify for the playoffs via a race win, but can you get into the playoffs by not attempting all of the races on points? As he is running the race this weekend and Spencer Gallagher (who is ahead of him in points) isn't, he is likely going be on the verge of making the top 12 after this race. 39. 34McDowellFan posted: 06.15.2018 - 11:44 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) @38 No he'd be ineligible even if he managed to get into the top 12 on points 40.
