That's what drove Carl Kiekhafer's Chryslers out of NASCAR; he was TOO dominant, and the races became boring. The fans complained, and rightfully so. In the Xfinity Series, the top 3 are separated by 42 points and have 8, 5 & 6 wins (Chevrolet is 1st, Ford is 2nd, Toyota is 3rd.) In the Trucks, the top 2 are separated by 8 points and both have 6 wins (Chevrolet is winning.) If you total up manufacturer points and wins between the 3 series, here's what you get: Toyota has 1888 points and 22 wins; Ford has 1845 points and 16 wins; Chevrolet has 1844 points and 15 wins; Dodge has 39 points and 0 wins. Toyota's 1st in Cup, while Chevy is 1st in Xfinity & Trucks. The only two series where one manufacturer is far off of the others is Chevy in Cup and Dodge in Xfinity. And in Cup, it's not one manufacturer dominating, it's two dominating the 3rd. Ford's right up there. Sorry it doesn't fit the narrative. Iowa will be one of the first tracks to be downsized or get the dozer once the TV deal is over. 117. Mitchell posted: 07.28.2018 - 9:19 pm Rate this comment: (0) (3) Of course the crowd was down. Bell with 11 laps to go, and Bell got lucky to avoid getting taken out but still got into Briscoe and received slight damage to his nose. They went back racing with seven to go, but the caution came out for Garrett Smithley's wreck in turns 3 and 4. Just moments before, Cole Custer ran too wide and slapped the wall, ending what had been a stellar run for him most of the day. On the ensuing restart with two laps to go, the second row of Kyle Benjamin and Justin Allgaier got a great jump and both split the front row, making it four-wide for the lead into turn 1 for a crazy moment. Allgaier got by way on the outside to take the lead, but the yellow came out again for a hard crash involving Tullman and Tifft. On the final restart, it appears that Bell learned from Justin, because he tried to pull the same move on Allgaier, moving high on the restart. The speedy dry on the track from the previous accident made for some guys getting sideways through turns 1 and 2, allowing Bell to get Allgaier alone for the lead, and Bell dove inside of the #7 coming to the white flag and the two drivers took the white side-by-side, inches apart. Bell eventually made the pass on the last lap when he was able to pull up in front of Allgiaer off turn 2. The last lap crash involving Hemric and Brandon Jones looked like Hemric just got too deep into the corner and washed up into Jones to turn the #19 around. Luckily no one else got involved, because that happened right in front of the field. 124. Anonymous posted: 07.28.2018 - 10:14 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @112 Buh-bye 125. All it takes is a pair of eyes and a touch of intelligence to see that Hemric tried a big block which messed up his entry and slid him up into Jones. Frankly, nothing you have ever commented on RR has any merit. Feel bad for Jones. Despite his equipment upgrade compared to last year, he has REALLY improved as a driver. Never thought I'd say this but he might win a race on speed this year. 126. And Christopher Bell made sure a series regular will finally be the one that wins the most races in a season, because this is his 4th win and the best Cup driver has 3 wins (Kyle Larson). Joe Gibbs Racing is starting to be on a roll in the second part of the season. It's the first time they made it 3 in a row with one driver that wasn't Kyle Busch. 127. But still, it's a .875-mile track, they should be able to have enough cameras there to see all the action. 129. I personally predict that the #89, the #66, and the #13 fail to qualify, but it's truly hard to tell when it comes to a road course 133.
