And not even a Richard Childress Racing's Cup driver runs this race. I guess this is really rare, because Ryan Preece definitely isn't an elite Cup driver... 5. No Busch, Larson, Logano, Harvick, Dillon, and so on. Take Preece out and these are the Xfinity regular entries. 37 teams with no buschwackers seems pretty good to me. 9. 34McDowellFan posted: 02.19.2019 - 3:23 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Even with 4 MBM cars we still only have 37 cars The loss of 2 Roush Cars, 2 RCR cars, and 2 JP Motorsports cars has really hurt this series's field counts On the bright side, only 1 cup driver in the field (And its Preece!) 10. It's definitely unusual, because I looked at all non-standalone races in 2017 and 2018 and there was always at least one elite Cup driver in all of them. So in the era of limits, I guess this is the first time no elite Cup driver will enter some race on non-standalone track that also has a Cup race on Sunday. In other words, those limits are working just fine and there is no need to change it in future years. I'm still surprised NASCAR didn't change it to 5 Xfinity races and 3 Truck races... They have a need to change everything that isn't broken. 11. ShinyMew151 posted: 02.20.2019 - 3:10 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Loss of 1 RCR car, the 21 is still around, just part time. In Xfinity, the owners standings and the drivers standings have been vastly different for many years, due to the Cup driver involvement. @All, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't NASCAR change the rule where an Xfinity team couldn't earn owners points if their driver earns points in the Cup series? Would this be why we've seen so little few Cup drivers enter in Xfinity races? 24. UnderdogFan89 posted: 02.22.2019 - 2:35 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @Corey, no, that is not correct. NASCAR still awards owner points to drivers earning Cup points. The truck series had a few seasons where hardly anyone ran Ford 105. Brad said it was one of the main factors in him shutting down BKR, no help from the factory. In fact I think Ford was the last team to develop a new engine for the truck series. They just don't care which is incredible when you think Ford probably sells more trucks than anything else. 108. possum posted: 02.25.2019 - 6:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @107 - well, let's think thru that for a moment. The purpose of a manufacturer being in racing is to draw attention to their cars/trucks/motorcycles, in order to sell more cars/trucks/motorcycles. Ford already sells a lot more trucks than anyone else. What purpose would they have to be in truck racing? The cost/benefit simply isn't there. 109.
