I wonder if it's related to how different the Cup package is. 9. Busch18 posted: 07.10.2019 - 7:13 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Well for Penske its lack of sponsors to run the 12 car Harvick said he has not plans to run anymore Chase really only runs the 1st Daytona race Denny seems to run Darlington only every yr. No matter how diff the package is any seat time is better then none. Just think a lot of it has to do with funding for a lot of teams. 10. Mannoroth posted: 07.10.2019 - 12:11 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) 8. It's not surprising, because in 2011, NASCAR broke their Xfinity party with that rule of only one series, where you can score points. Then Carl Edwards refused to run the entire schedule in 2012 for Roush, so it was basically just Joe Gibbs vs Roger Penske in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Then Kyle Busch was injured during the 2015 race at Daytona in Xfinity, which ended his traditional 26 races each year and finally, NASCAR created limits for them in 2017 and made them more strict the following year. All that in just 8 years. But honestly, those Cup drivers were reducing the number of races they wanted to run even without those limits, so they aren't that necessary. But I'm sure they won't just remove them, until Kyle Busch scores 100 wins in Xfinity and retires from Trucks, because it's a well-known fact that he would like to help his Truck team by running as many races as possible. Yes, he didn't do it in 2015 and 2016, when he could (he made just 4 starts), but his drivers were running great and they had sponsors, so it wasn't necessary for him to run 10 races like in 2014. But now, the series regulars that run for the championship are still winless, so the situation is not good. 9. That's also one of the reasons. And the other can be simply that they aren't interested anymore. Especially Roger Penske that can't use his Cup drivers to win the Owners' Championship. 11. George_Costanza posted: 07.10.2019 - 1:26 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I'm honestly surprised Joe Gibbs hasn't had Erik Jones in an Xfinity car this year. It's no secret Erik's been struggling, and maybe a good run in the Xfinity series would help his confidence. It can't be helpful having Herbst in the 18, can it? 12. Yeet posted: 07.10.2019 - 1:52 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) ^ I believe Herbst in the 18 helps, but I agree Jones needs that seat as well. I wouldn't say he's underperforming but it's gonna look really poor if he's unable to make the Chase this year, I'd even go as far to say that I could see Bell replace Jones in that 20 car in the distant future if Hamlin, Truex, or Busch stay around for a long time. 13. Busch18 posted: 07.10.2019 - 2:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Well when it comes to the Penske driver I think they wanna run they just dont have the sponsors. Wil posted: 07.10.2019 - 5:14 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @11 Jones hasn't really struggled to go fast though, so going fast in an Xfinity race might not change anything. I do have a real problem with how often Riley Herbst is in that car. Everybody in the garage knows he sucks, but this might be another Brandon Jones where his dad has SO MUCH MONEY that his results literally don't matter and he'll be a full time driver for JGR soon even though he's a joke of a talent. 15. They only got it in the Trucks because of how late in the 2017 season that they actually instituted the NT1 being an option for 2018...or rather, THE option. That move wouldn't fly in Xfinity. 63.
