The back-up have for this race was an RCR car originally used by Joe Graf Jr. It was mentioned that nearly everything from the wrecked trailer will not be Kansas this weekend and it won't be till next week before the team can see what they can salvage. the only things they got were Chastain's helmet and driver suit. 19. It looks like Custer had a smile for quite some time after Reddick starting shoving Custer after Custer grabbed a hold of him. Custer sure was beginning to enjoy it it seems. 127. Custer should have went for a handshake or something if he REALLY wanted to touch Reddick... Regardless he should have thought about physical contact more clearly. It was just all a misunderstanding that escalated quickly. 128. Did he catch a break w/ the 2nd to last caution? Sure. But he & his crew put themselves in position to win & pulled it off when it mattered most. He qualified 2nd, ran around top 10 all day, & most importantly, had an excellent restart *Twice to win. (A shame that 1st attempt the broadcasters didn't acknowledge him until the caution for Gase came out. They spent a lap & a half covering the battle for 2nd/4th; If memory serves, he started 3rd on the 1st restart; I know he was on the inside) A solid day for Michael Annet, who came back from starting 38th to finish 10th, 7th, & 4th. It was mentioned during the broadcast that him & his CC plan to focus on racing for points & serving to Annet's strengths rather than going a more aggressive route; how that'll work is TBD - strong runs from Allgaier & Briscoe minimized any immediate results As the stage/final results show, Chastain ran top 10 all day but was never a factor for the win. He & Allgaier jostled a couple laps early on; Allgaier wasn't too happy but nothing came of it. Cars running loose was a common theme of the race; Allgaier, Bell, JHN, Briscoe, & Reddick, among others, were all visibly loose and many drivers tapped the wall b/c of this (Gragson also; his run-ins w/ the wall ultimately cut a tire) Jeremy Clements w/ a 6th (already mentioned above but will repeat) Ray Black, Jr. w/ a 14th (not mentioned, and though not too unreasonable, caught my eye during the results - ran an incredibly quiet race, good for him) Noah Gragson's PUBG car is a really nice paint scheme; my favorite of the race. Cindric needs a win at this point to advance. The odds of him pointing his way in are practically nonexistent. A shame Truex had to leave after only 4 laps b/c of an engine; I watched every lap from 52 on (& around 20/35ish), so speaking to that latter portion, I feel like the race really kicked into another gear w/ the Cindric run-in; almost an incident that signaled the end of the 1st "half" & the start of the more exciting 2nd "half" (I feel safe saying not much happened in that missing gap, but IDK; obviously the start of the race wasn't going to have all that much going on) A great race overall. Didn't feel fake or manufactured, only "questionable" caution would be for JHN spinning (IMO), but it's not like it was an egregious call. 10/10 Would Recommend. 129. No misunderstanding there, that will cause a scrap anywhere from intramurals to pro sports. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
