Altracing posted: 07.18.2020 - 7:48 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This is probably an unpopular opinion and I may have stated it last year at one point but I just want to reiterate it now and say that I don't like the rule about stripping the position or the win away from the drivers hours after the race is over. I understand why the rule is in place but we don't even get to see the guy that benefited from this celebrate the win and honestly if I was a driver, finished second and the driver in front of me failed post race inspection which meant that I won I wouldn't be happy at all because I didn't earn the victory. At the very least they can take away the playoff points (And yes I know Kyle isn't running for Xfinity points) and give the driver last place points if they do fail post race inspection but taking wins away just doesn't sit right with me. And I know some people will may have a better argument as to why the rule is fine but that's just my opinion of the whole thing. 107. The other is simply something broke. @107 - no, there's really no difference in the body inspection now they have the laser rig. If he failed then something changed between pre- and post-. @106 - I agree. Actually, I'd go beyond that get rid of post-race inspection completely. If the car was legal to start the race, then it's legal to finish. After all, it's not like someone's going to install a big engine, or totally reshape the body, or re-camber the rear end during a race. I highly doubt he'll win all three (he hasn't really been as dominant as he was in 2016), but even if he does win all three I feel 2021 will be the final tour. And if he gets to 99 wins then he'll still do all five (can't predict when and how many times he will actually win, alas 2018). 118. But at least it was on the Xfinity level and not on the Cup level, where he's about to get to 10 years without failing a post-race inspection due to equipment reasons, which is something Kevin Harvick can only dream about (the last time Kyle failed post-race inspection due to equipment reasons was the first race at Pocono in 2011 - height measurements)... 112. You think it's funny? It only means he will have to stay in this series longer, which means more complaining from people that don't understand it and have a problem with a Cup driver running just 5 out of 33 races, which is ridiculous. 121. Take the stat away and the cheating stops (unless it was caused by a non-human factor). 122. I believe he was hoping to get to win 100 before the year was out so he wouldn't have to race in 2021. Trying to manipulate a lower series' races/standings for self-gratification (100 wins) is what is ridiculous. It's already bad enough that he is even in the series, but to then cheat in the series as well? Shame on him. This is about as big as a black eye that he got for taking out Hornaday at Texas. When you're struggling to get victories I guess this is what it eventually comes to (Richard Petty- Charlotte '83). 124. Mannoroth posted: 07.19.2020 - 1:41 pm Rate this comment: (0) (2) 123. Mistakes happen just like accidents. Just ask your lovely Kevin Harvick - he was faster than Kyle Busch in 2018, but with all those penalties for cheating, he didn't score the most points without the playoffs. He's lucky that those DQs started in 2019 and not in 2018, otherwise he would lose way more points and wins... 125. He has done it once before, the only time in NASCAR history to have it done, at Fontana in the 2009 Xfinity and Trucks seasons. Kyle will later in the night win the Truck race at Texas. 126. It would be like an NBA team going to a developmental series game having six players on the court. He's manipulating the series by doing that, or at least tried to. My "lovely" Kevin Harvick has never been disqualified or had a win taken from him. All though I believe the series should be about accumulating the most points over the whole season, it no longer is. Not sure why 2018 points is being brought up about Kyle Busch cheating in a lower series race. This race didn't even have Harvick in it. Besides, this isn't about him. This is about an elite driver racing in a series he shouldn't be in and now has succumbed to cheating in a lower level series. He already has the most wins. It's hard telling how many times he has cheated and hasn't got caught. Wow. I believe he should be banned from racing in the series for the rest of the year, but they have a history of catering to him. 127. Because he was lucky NASCAR hasn't started DQing cheaters in 2018, otherwise he would already have 2 DQs... and in a top series. When the top series is the only series that matters, it means that Kyle Busch is way better at not cheating than Kevin Harvick (equipment reasons or not), because his last infraction was in 2016 after the Kansas win (lug nut issues). Harvick's was in 2018 after the second race at Texas. Plus, Kyle Busch doesn't have any history of manipulating races in the top series or at least trying to. This is something Harvick can't say either (cough Talladega 2015). 129.
