I wonder if the 89 will bother the rest of the season 3. PucciMan posted: 08.18.2020 - 2:02 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) SVR said they're done for the year because they said without qualifying it ain't worth it. Plus they said the payout wasn't too kind for the teams below the top 30 in owner points. 4. WhereAreTheBeers posted: 08.22.2020 - 7:30 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Is Timmeh start and parking? Mentioned L124 of broadcast - Alfredo won that event on a last-lap pass over Alex Labbe (currently 19th). For anyone wanting that finish, it'll have to wait another day. This one's looking like Allgaier's to lose, w/ Cindric next in line. If anyone's to lose a race on pit road based on luck this year though, it's Allgaier, so it's too early to write this one off. 9. He's out on older tires but has held up incredibly well. 10. Gragson is 6th, but after running higher earlier he's had trouble passing cars since halfway (taking multiple laps to pass Brown earlier, plus Sieg & I'm sure others) 12. Zach posted: 08.22.2020 - 2:12 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Seriously? That's a caution? We've seen cars actually crash in recent weeks and NASCAR never threw a caution. They are so inconsistent it's insane. 13. Z posted: 08.22.2020 - 2:15 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Vanderwal drags a jack off pit road as he'll serve a penalty. Was either 3 or 4 laps down prior, but kept it clean. Cindric 3rd as Chastain passed on pits. Chastain chooses high line but it doesn't pan out as Cindric passes with ease. 14. Currently 2nd, & Cindric doesn't strike as a "laying over" sort anyway. L161 Cindric nudges Allgaier LRQP for the pass - It was clean but likely a move Cindric wouldn't take kindly to. Brandon Jones sideways, he straightened it back out w/out hitting anything but a YF. Jones actually did *Really good not to hit anything there, he had it straight vertical in the turn. 18. A pretty straightforward race. Briscoe early problems, Brown/Sieg an alternate strategy to watch, some late cautions to try & spice things up, but an unartificial outcome & the usual suspects up front. If today's race wasn't your speed though, same place, different time: Dover, pt II - Cup edition coming up @4:00ET Also, quietly Jeremy Clements' 2nd best finish @Dover in his career, behind a pair of 10ths. Brandon Brown gained a whole +1 point in the playoff bubble battle in this one as both ran strong races, while Snider likely needs some help but limited the damage w/ his run. 33. 27YeleyFan posted: 08.22.2020 - 3:15 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I like how after stage 2 ended the announcers and Jesse Iwuji were talking about Brandon Brown and how hard Brown's been racing with 15 lap older tires than every other car, it was very lucky for both Sieg and Brown to stay on lead lap before caution came out as B.J. Mcleod had a suspension issue 34. Anonymous posted: 08.22.2020 - 3:15 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Chastain has had a great year but zero wins. Like only three finishes outside of the top 10 but just no wins. 35. David posted: 08.22.2020 - 3:23 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Chevys dominate the field in Xfinity in terms of quantity are not particularly close to the others in terms of quality (the latter being just like the Cup series). Therefore it's easy to rack up top 10s and (unlike Cup) even top 5s, but an occasional win here and there against the Gibbs & Penske cars is the most that can be expected. Of Chevy's whopping 4 wins in the first 19 races, 2 of those had to come at restrictor plate, anything-can-happen tracks. Given those facts, I wouldn't conclude anything bad about Chastain's driving ability based on his Xfinity stats this season. He's done as well as could be expected, but Gragson's done _better_ than expected and Ross looks worse by comparison. 36. Derrick posted: 08.22.2020 - 3:29 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I don't really conclude anything good or bad about Chastain's Xfinity season so far. He's got the 6th or 7th best car on the track every week, he gets a lot of top 10's as he damn well should plus he gets a fair number of top 5's as he also should. But if he's as good as some say and what with his Cup experience against a bunch of drivers who don't have that, Chastain really should nail down a win or two before it's all over even if winning does depend on a few better cars having a bad day. 37. Maybe they'll let him run more if he feels like it, but he doesn't *have to run the distance. Similar to Finchum running the car @IndyGP earlier in the year, he was open to run the full race (& did) but didn't *have to. (In that instance due to Finchum being sore from a wreck prior @Pocono) 40.
