He has 17 career wins, but hasn't won since 2017. I think he wins this race, even though he's starting last. He'll be in the lead by the end of stage 2, and won't give it back. He's a master at Darlington: 5 wins in 12 starts, an average finish of 5.7 and 555 laps led. 8. Anon posted: 09.02.2020 - 1:54 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Hamlin did win this race last year too, only to lose it via DQ. If you count that finish, in Denny's last 10 starts here in Xfinity he has finished top 2. That said, everyone guaranteed Kyle Busch would win at Darlington earlier this year (myself included) because of how inexperienced the rest of the field was at the track. That didn't happen though. 9. WhereAreTheBeers posted: 09.02.2020 - 3:08 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) @5 Thanks for the groundbreaking revelation, I really NEVER would have known otherwise. Hamlin vs. Chastain -- Ross was doing everything he could to hold off Denny in the final laps, and Hamlin eventually started getting more aggressive by getting up on Chastain's bumper to get him loose. Both guys were in the wall at least once, and with two laps to go, Hamlin got a great run off turn 2 and got alongside Chastain, then tried to pull a slidejob into turn 3 but his speed carried him into the wall and collected Chastain.
