And really hope DGM moves Pardus to the #90 since Bacarella isn't really a road course guy and Pardus is. Neither of those things will probably happen but I can hope! It would give both of those teams better shots at winning or getting good finishes and would make the whole race better. 6. 34McDowellFan posted: 02.15.2021 - 4:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The 40 cars that ran at Daytona will be the only 40 cars with a chance to run pretty much all year since they're all full-time teams. Anderson and Bassett's new teams are DOA for 2021 (as is Our's #03) as only a very small number of races will have qualifying this year. 7. Anonymous posted: 02.17.2021 - 10:47 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) This not allowing drivers to qualify is absolutely ridiculous, a guy like Jordan Anderson who was planning to run the full year is being screwed now because NASCAR won't allow qualifying. you had 43 cars on the entry list you could have just allowed the 43 cars to start the race but instead you're making these teams suffer. 19. Anonymous posted: 02.17.2021 - 10:47 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) The 91 withdrew but that's it (Pardus in the 90) the rest just DNQ'ed. 20. 34McDowellFan posted: 02.17.2021 - 10:48 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) It appears this season NASCAR is listing cars that miss the field as Withdrawn entries, while they were listed as DNQ's last year (unless all 6 teams in Xfinity/Truck formally withdrew) 21. TeamDCRfan posted: 02.17.2021 - 10:50 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) 17 40th for Trucks got cut off for some reason too. 22. David posted: 02.17.2021 - 11:01 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) @20 I'm not even sure NASCAR counts the 31, 77 & 91 as withdrawals. NASCAR just seems to have "disappeared" them. They were definitely on the preliminary entry list as of earlier in the week, but now even that preliminary list (at least the last one I saw) no longer acknowledges those 3 cars at all. The cars/trucks which NASCAR will not permit to qualify should either be DNQs or WDs, but they shouldn't be ignored entirely. 23. Yeet posted: 02.17.2021 - 11:46 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) @18 NASCAR let them know way beforehand of what events were going to have qualifying and which ones weren't. Those teams took that risk from the get-go and unfortunately it didn't work out for them. Not everyone gets what they want in competition and I don't want to hear any bickering about it. 24. NASCAREnthusiast posted: 02.17.2021 - 11:46 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I think they should use the metric system for the first 36 cars and have the rest of the teams run one qualifying lap each, fastest 4 make the race. The only reason they are still doing these one-day shows is due to the close proximity between crew members when they need to repair the car or getting out a backup. If they used the system above, none of the cars would need repairs or backups between sessions. Even if someone did wreck their car during the qualifying lap, they probably wouldn't make the race anyway. 25. Steve posted: 02.17.2021 - 6:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Just when there's an increase in the number of teams signed up for the full season, NASCAR figures out another way to discourage their participation. The Bassetts and Jordan Anderson may just wait until 2022 since they won't get a fair shake through the ridiculous, complicated, and arbitrary "qualifying metric" or whatever they call that BS. There is no reason qualifying can't be scheduled for every race. NASCAR screws the little guy even more. @23 We WILL bicker about it because it's another absurd policy. Without our bickering, NASCAR will keep thinking the rule is okay. 30. Corey posted: 02.17.2021 - 6:52 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @29 NASCAR didn't screw the little teams. Jordan Anderson announced his team on January 25. He and everyone knew when and were qualifying was going to take place and had to be fully aware that this type of situation could occur. Without 2020 points it was going to be a tall order. The new teams bare some of the responsibility themselves. It's not NASCAR's that 42 teams said they were going full time. 31. SP posted: 02.17.2021 - 7:32 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) With qualifying rained out last week, it would be nice if NASCAR could've called an audible and allowed qualifying at this race, or another race, to give guys like Anderson or the Bassett's the chance they didn't get at Daytona. 32. Scott25 posted: 02.20.2021 - 9:09 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Don't forget that if there was qualifying, the field size would only be 36 cars so we'd be sending home 6 every week. At least this way the teams that DNQ aren't wasting gas and money driving to the track. But still I agree that the no practice and especially no qualifying is ridiculous. Everybody should have a chance and this is just another move that flies in the face of encouraging competition and new owners entering the sport. 37. Props to Gibbs for owning up to that interview from last week, I can see that he is kind of maturing as a driver and I look forward to seeing what he can do as he runs more races in ARCA and Xfinity this year, he's already won 8 races in ARCA, so it's clear that in the future he will be a force to be reckoned with 147.
