McLeod A big headline in this event is the fact qualifying is back once again. This provides a very big opportunity to Jordan Anderson Racing, who has missed evert race this season up until COTA. If they get enough points to pass the MBM Motorsports #13, they will be in the show in races without qualifying. However, MBM has responded to this threat by changing the usual #66 team to the #13. Timmy Hill's average finish is 8 spots higher than the #13 car this year, so this is a smart move by the MBM bunch. 2. If Hill earns 13 points, and Reddick earns 33 points, the 13 would have 72 points, and the 31 would have 71. Reddick would have to beat Hill by 21 points to tie the two. I don't know how they solve a tiebreaker for the last starting spot, but it might be in favor of the 13. So Reddick would have to earn at least 22 points more than Hill for the 31 to be locked in for the next few races. If he doesn't, the 31 would have another shot at Nashville. 3. Maybe they just swapped crews and cars but kept the numbers the same? In any case, things still worked out okay for MBM, because the #13 with Finchum behind the wheel finished a season-best 15th. Still, Jordan Anderson Racing did what they needed to do in these two races, gaining 71 points and getting close to a top 40 position, now just 10 points behind the #13. They're also just 14 points behind the #52, which failed to qualify at Charlotte. In fact, several teams ranked in the 30s in owner points missed the race at Charlotte, which is likely to help the #31 farther down the road because they're now just 40-50 points behind several about a half-dozen different teams. Does anyone know when the next Xfinity race with qualifying will be? I'm thinking Nashville (3 races from now), but I'm not entirely sure. 4. JAR has confirmed to have Josh Berry in the car at Mid-Ohio (Miguel Paludo will be in the #8), so they automatically get in due to Berry winning a race earlier this season. They are only 10 owners points behind the MBM #13, so MBM is going to have to get a road ringer next weekend. Even if the #31 doesn't surpass the #13, the #52 Means Motorsports car is only 14 points ahead of the #31, so it's very possible that the #31 car could end up 39th in owners points after Mid-Ohio. Then it becomes a battle between the #52 and the #13 for the 40th spot. Needless to say, the pressure is really on all 3 of these teams at Mid-Ohio. 5. Not only did it get the #31 in the field, it also pushed the #13 out. As long as Berry stays out of trouble and finishes 26th or better, the #31 should be in good shape for the rest of the season. 6.
