Last NASCAR race for ARCA vetern Jerry Churchill and also the last one for Randy Churchill 5. RaceFanX posted: 03.20.2009 - 1:35 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Chase's "#62 Total Chevy" was actually just a second #6 Total Chevy. It was identical to Rick Carelli's in every way, the truck was a "late entry" according to the ESPN announcers and the team didn't put a 2 on it resulting in the rare situation of two NASCAR vehicles in the same race having the same number. Chase dropped out early but there was still a moment of confusion when Carelli wrecked in the opening laps and the announcers needed a few seconds to get word on which one it was. This race was delayed a bit by rain Mike Skinner, Joe Ruttman, Ron Hornaday Jr., Geoff Bodine, P.J. Jones, Bob Keselowski, Kerry Teague, and John Nemechek all missed the driver's meeting and had to start at the back, thus losing their original starting positions. Skinner had qualified on the pole according to YouTube footage of this race. For our NFL fans, the ESPN ticker at the bottom of the screen had an announcement of the Raiders moving back to Oakland during this race 7. dj87legend posted: 01.06.2011 - 12:34 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "Mike Skinner, Joe Ruttman, Ron Hornaday Jr., Geoff Bodine, P.J. I just can't understand how unsurmountable mechanical issues could lead to retirement after 1.5 miles of distance. Also, I'm curious, was Mike Skinner officially deprived of his pole? His qualifying time was 16.160, and Swindell was 0.043 seconds behind him on the first row. Today cars just go at the back of the field for such infraction as missing drivers' meeting. Reasons for cautions: L12-16 - #6 crash in T2 L37-41 - #83 crash in T1 L46-60 - #54 crash on the BS & rain L74-76 - #3, 84 spin in T3 & halfway break L105-109 - #2 crash in T2 L130-134 - #21 crash (couldn't determine exactly in which turn) 9. Bliss had a pretty average run but he and the Ultra #2 Ford would go on to a lot of success over the next three-and-a-half seasons. 10. 83andJoe posted: 07.06.2013 - 5:11 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #7 crew chief: Dave Rezendes 11. There were; these were "field-fillers" as there was a short field for the event. >Also, I'm curious, was Mike Skinner officially deprived of his pole? Skinner, Ruttman, "and six other drivers" were sent to the rear of the field; according to the 1995 Official NASCAR Preview and Press Guide, Swindell did NOT win the pole and was NOT credited with a first-place start; this is an error... 13. 83andJoe posted: 09.22.2013 - 8:49 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Corrected starting positions: Ruttman, 3rd G.Bodine, 9th Miller, 7th Swindell, 2nd Sedgwick, 16th Sprague, 11th Strait, 18th Lagasse, 17th Hornaday Jr, 8th Keselowski, 19th Butler, 6th Evans, 13th Teague, 20th Bliss, 12th R.Churchill, 21st Jones, 10th Shelmerdine, 26th Brevak, 23rd J.Churchill, 24th Skinner, 1st Clark, 25th Glanville, 14th Carelli, 5th Portenga, 15th Hensley, 4th McEachern, 22nd Chase, 29th Nooner, 26th Nemechek, 27th To the rear: #3 Mike Skinner, #84 Joe Ruttman, #16 Ron Hornaday Jr., #7 Geoffrey Bodine, #1 P.J. This was also the only race he led in the series, he even lead the most laps in doing so. 15. 23andJoe posted: 10.04.2014 - 8:26 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #81 sponsor: Race Fans Unlimited 16. If you have 8 of the 29 drivers in the race all showing up 15 minutes late that would make me think there was a mix-up about when the meeting started. 20.
