According to NASCAR-World: There was a competition caution flag at lap 12 (caution laps did not count towards the 25-lap total) and there was a double-file restart on lap 13. The order of the trucks after lap 12 was #3, 7, 28, 30, 98, 87, 6, 1, 64, 63. This was the 8th and final exhibition race of the Supertruck Series. The pace truck was a Ford F-150. 2. This race was the first time the Trucks raced on a track over one mile in length and NASCAR held the race somewhat as an experiment to see how they would handle so the computers were allowed as part of the research (the #30 Dodge had some factory support for its computers, Dodge was about enter the series with factory backing for 1996). Bodine actually got into the wall a little on the last lap successfully trying to hold off Skinner. The #3 Chevy got a run off the last corner but the #7 Ford nipped him at the line. The starting grid for this race was completely inverted minus the #63 of Ron Esau which was a late entry and started last because of it. Almost starting last didn't stop Skinner, as shown he raced to the front by the third lap of the race and got past Ernie Irvan on the frontstretch to take the lead. This was also the series last race under its original NASCAR SuperTrucks Series name before it was renamed into the Craftman Truck Series for 1996. It was also the last race for the original boxy-looking trucks before they were replaced by more aerodynamic models for the new season. This was only the second race ever at Homestead. The first was a Goody's Dash Series race right before it that ended in a wild crash and saw David Hutto take the championship over Larry Caudill on the "more wins" tiebreaker. 7.
