He was battling with Skinner for the lead and Skinner wrecked him after Gant passed him cleanly for the lead. NASCAR penalized Skinner 5 laps for wrecking Gant. 4. Gant let Skinner by on a restart to get a lap back, Gant passed him cleanly and Skinner drove like he always does and wrecked Gant going into the third turn. 9. 83andJoe posted: 06.23.2013 - 3:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #65 sponsor: AAG Racing #50 status: handling First caution: #50, #15, #90, #23, #48 accident backstretch Second caution: #65 blown engine Third caution: #8 accident turn 3 Fourth caution: #17, #43 accident turn 2 Fifth caution: Competition Sixth caution: debris Seventh caution: #20, #29, #30, #17 accident turn 2 Eighth caution: #32 accident turn 4 Ninth caution: #20 accident turn 2 Tenth caution: #00 spin turn 2 Eleventh caution: #15, #29 accident turn 2 Twelvth caution: #3, #33 accident turn 4 Thirteenth caution: #43, #6 accident turn 1 10. Bramblegrunt posted: 08.04.2017 - 5:03 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Apparently Bobby Hamilton had in on the Casey Atwood deal in this entry. Atwood thanked Hamilton for this great opportunity in his pre race interview. Sadly for Atwood the race would end rather quickly when the 50 of Day spun on the backstretch and blocked incoming traffic and about 6 or 7 trucks got involved including Atwood, Day, Clark, Norick, and Gill and a few others. After the aforementioned scuffle between Skinner and Gant, the closing laps ended up when a really tight battle between Rick Carelli and Rich Bickle for 4th went very badly in turn 1. Carelli tried getting underneath and made contact sending both into the wall. Carelli was able to limp home 9th while Bickle truck was heavily destroyed and finished a disappointing 18th. Dave Rezendes got a bit of heat from Hornaday for 1st but the real battle was Sprague and Miller for 3rd where Rezendes went on to get his 2nd win. Interestingly on the last caution Rezendes actually took down his window net to get more air in the truck. This is something you could never do today as you need help from crew members to do to get the net back into its place. Doubt NASCAR would be too happy about a window net down during an active race either even if under caution. The carnage also gave Dokken a strong top 10 in his family owned #64. Bob Keselowski in a twice-damaged truck almost even got a top 10 out of the deal too 16. nascar_vd / racing-reference.info posted: 04.24.2018 - 11:18 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) C1996-16 Awards Busch Pole Award: Jack Sprague Gatorade Front Runner Award: Mike Skinner Plasti-Kote Winning Finish Award: Danny Dias (#7) Ventvisor Brand Super Deflector Award: Mike Skinner Featherlite Trailers Long Haul Award: Dave Rezendes Cintas Rookie-Of-The-Race Award: Bryan Reffner 17. It also stands as the best finish for the #64 in series history, to date. 20. Rich posted: 09.21.2020 - 5:21 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Mike Joy and Buddy Baker were the commentators.
